Chapter 856
Nelly felt that she couldn’t just sit back and do nothing. She had gone to great lengths and used unethical means to marry Timothy.
After decades together and a grown child, she couldn’t bear the thought of being abandoned by him now. Otherwise, what had all her sacrifices been for?
She took a deep breath, wiped away her tears, and went upstairs to apply some light makeup before heading to the Garrison estate.
Since the problem had started at the birthday banquet, and if Timothy wanted to make things right for Minnie, Nelly decided it would be best to approach the Garrison family first.
She hoped that if Minnie could convince him not to go through with the divorce, Timothy might reconsider. But what seemed like a reasonable plan quickly crumbled in the face of reality.
“They refused to see me?” Nelly’s voice rose sharply. “Did you even explain why I came?”
The maid nodded. “I did.”
“And the divorce?” Nelly felt awkward bringing it up with a maid, but she couldn’t afford to focus on that right now.
“I told them everything.” The maid nodded again.
“What did my parents say?”
“Mr. Garrison Senior doesn’t want to see you. Mrs. Garrison Senior said your personal affairs are none of their business and told me to ask you to leave.”
Nelly gritted her teeth in anger. Not only had Aren and Fiona refused to acknowledge her, but now they wouldn’t even lift a finger to help.
“Fine. If they want to burn bridges, I won’t hold back either.”
She turned to leave but stopped after a couple of steps and spun back around. “What about Minnie? Is she here?”
The maid hesitated. Everyone in the household knew that the Garrisons had disowned Nelly. If the maid spilled any information, she could face serious consequences.
Nelly sneered. “What’s wrong? Now you’re getting all nervous? I’m still alive. Have I ever treated you badly when I lived here? Don’t be so quick to turn on me.”
“Ms. Garrison, I’m sorry. I-”
“Tell me! Where is Minnie?” Nelly demanded.
“M–Ms. Minnie left a few days ago,” the maid stammered.

Nelly frowned. Her first thought was that Timothy hadn’t been home lately, and now Minnie was gone. Were they together?
“Where did she go? Back to Lumberville? Is she with Lionel?”
“I… I really don’t know…” The maid was just an employee, and her bosses didn’t inform her about their whereabouts.
“Useless!” Nelly snapped and stormed off.
When she returned home, she was startled to find Timothy standing in the living room. All content is © N0velDrama.Org.
The man stood tall and imposing in a black suit. His broad shoulders and trim waist gave him an air of authority. Even at nearly 50, he still exuded a magnetic charm.
From the doorway, Nelly was struck dumb by his presence. When she was younger, she had been enchanted by his handsome face. Even after 30 years, her love for him hadn’t diminished.
“You…”
At the sound of her voice, Timothy turned his gaze to her and said coldly, “My assistant said you wanted to talk.”
Snapping out of her trance, she pursed her lips in grievance as tears welled up in her eyes. Honey…”
He showed no sign of emotion. “I’m back. What do you want to talk about?”
“Can we not get a divorce?” Nelly begged.
Timothy’s expression remained unreadable.
She continued, “Why? We’ve been married for over 20 years, and our son is all grown up. How can you just want a divorce? Timothy, how could you be so heartless?”
“Ha! You still have the nerve to ask me why? And you’re bringing up our son?“.
“Can’t you at least tell me why? I deserve to know!” she demanded.
Timothy sneered as he stepped closer. “Fine. Let me ask you this. Who is responsible for Min’s disappearance?”
He continued, “And tell me, how did you get pregnant back then? Who is Sam’s father?”
Each question hit like a punch, sharp and unforgiving.
Nelly was shaken to her core.
Sam, who was just about to step into the house, overheard everything. His step faltered as the weight of it all sank in.
