Reborn From Oblivion

Chapter 597

Nathan, with a mischievous grin, taunted, "You're as weak as a kitten. You couldn't even tickle me if you tried."

Cameron, however, wore a puzzled expression. He knew full well the force behind his punch just moments ago.

When the doctors and nurses arrived to break up their scuffle, Cameron found himself awkwardly seated on the floor, while Nathan was leaning against the wall, looking a bit worse for wear.

"Who's hurt?" the doctor inquired.

Both of them pointed at each other. Nathan quipped, "Look at him, his face is as swollen as a pumpkin. I'm perfectly fine."

The medical staff turned their attention to Cameron. But with a sly smirk, Cameron said, "He took more hits than I did, but his bruises aren't visible. Better check him first."

The doctor, standing between them, sighed, "Do you two want an examination or not? Stop wasting our time."

Cameron kept quiet.

Nathan flat-out refused, "I've got my own doctor. No need for your check-up."

Cameron looked at him incredulously, "Are you nuts? You're already in a hospital. Why bother with a private doctor?"

"None of your business."

"What if you try to pin this on me later?" Cameron asked.

Nathan replied, "I won't hold you responsible."

Cameron was taken aback. Nathan was notorious for holding grudges, so why was he dodging the doctors today?

"Got something you don't want anyone to see?" Cameron blurted out.

A fleeting look of panic crossed Nathan's face, "I just don't like exposing myself to others. Unlike you, Mr. Exhibitionist."

Cameron retorted, "What kind of doctor are you? Calling me a playboy, huh?"

"Isn't that what you are?"

The two bickered back and forth.

Finally, the doctor, exasperated, said, "Cut it out, If you're hurt, deal with it immediately. We don't want a repeat of Ms. Nathalie's situation, where delaying treatment could mean disaster."

Nathan's demeanor shifted instantly, "What happened to my Nathalie?"

"The news isn't good. She's had a brain hemorrhage and is in critical condition."

Nathan stood there, dumbfounded, like the life had been sucked out of him.

Cameron found himself feeling a touch of sympathy.

He was also taken aback. Nathan, the Capital's top figure, held Nathalie in such high regard. It made Cameron wonder why he'd never noticed Nathalie's value before.

Within moments, the hospital was buzzing with activity.

Nurses scurried around.

The hospital director and department heads were alerted, leaving their offices for an emergency meeting.

Footsteps echoed down the corridors.

Someone approached to escort

Cameron out, "A VIP has arrived, and

the hospital needs to be cleared immediately. Sir, if you're not a patient, please exit. If you are, return to your room for the doctor's examination."

Cameron was no stranger to such scenarios. Clearly, the VIP preferred to keep their identity under wraps, prompting the hospital to step up security and keep patients in their rooms.

But having the clout to mobilize the entire hospital staff was no small feat. Even in his heyday, he didn't wield such power.

Who could this VIP be?

With his sharp instincts, Cameron hadn't heard of any major business or political figure falling ill recently. So, the VIP's visit wasn't likely for personal treatment.

Were they here to visit someone?noveldrama

Cameron quietly asked Nathan, "Do you know who's staying here that could draw such a big shot?"
