Betrothed To The Mafia Lord

Chapter 235

Chapter 235

Luca’s POV

“So, I take it you’re done?” I said to him on the phone as I shifted a little on my seat, feeling my

heartbeat slowly return back to its usual steady pace.

“Yeah, I finished some months ago. I’ll be coming back in two days.” He informed me and I absorbed

his piece of information as I started to rack my brains to see if there was something currently ongoing

which could be really dangerous for him to come home to.

Armani was my little brother and I was really older than he was, it was why I was able to send him out

of the country into a different country that was really far from Rome, for his own safety. At the time

when our father had passed away and I had taken over him, it was as if a lot of people had been

waiting for that day to come just so they could attack my brother and myself. My brother was still a lot

younger than I was back then, and he wasn’t exactly cut out for the whole risky lifestyle of the mafia

world.

It was one of the main reasons why my father and I fought while I was growing up. It was one of the

reasons as to why I hated my father even more. My father has always tried to force Armani to become

a huge part of the mafia world, but Armani had just never been a part of it, no matter how he tried to fit

into the lifestyle to satisfy our father, he’d always stand out.

Armani was a lot softer than I was for one, he couldn’t handle a gun to save his life, no matter how

much my father had tried to train him into learning to handle one, he always ended up being unable to

aim at a particular thing to my father’s outrage. The same thing happened with knives and other kinds

of weapons that my father had tried to train him into learning how to use, and as expected, he hated all

of them and never fully mastered how to handle one. Each time something happens, I’d always have to

save myself as well as my younger brother, it has always been like that between us and I honestly

never minded because unlike my father who didn’t understand him, I understood him a lot well and I

knew just how he felt about everything, which was why he was always my first and only priority.

Attacks started to come to my brother and I just as soon as my father was out of the picture. Despite

joe bad my father was, he’d always make sure we were completely protected, which is why it was

almost rare for his enemies to be able to get to us. And as soon as he was out of the picture, it seemed

like a lot of people had been waiting for that particular moment to finally arrive because they all started

to attack my brother and I all at once, while some would even come together to plan to take my brother

and I out, like we were the one who wronged them in place of our father. There was only so much I

could do and when I saw that it was going to be really hard for Armani to survive here, I took matters

into my own hands and decided to do what my father would never ever dream of doing.

I decided to send him out of Rome, into a country that was really further from rome. I, along with

James, changed his identity, faked him new passports and backgrounds, along with family ties and

then I sent him out to Rome with a new identity. We both agreed that he was going to live a completely

different life than the one he grew up in here in Rome, and that he was going to be living the life of a

normal person, he was also going to be attending school there and other things. I left him with a lot of

my father’s money in four different cards, a huge amount of money I was sure he wouldn’t be able to

spend on his own.

We agreed that we were not going to be calling each other, to avoid being tracked to each other. He

had my own number and wasn’t allowed to call my cell unless it was extremely important. We haven’t

spoken to each other in over ten years, and for some reasons, I never had the fear of it being like he

might have been dead. It was like a part of my mind knew that nothing was going to happen to him, and

that he was going to be fine living a normal life away from the whole drama that comes from being

involved in the mafia lifestyle.

There weren't a lot of people that I trusted here in the mafia, except for James, which was why James

was still the one I’ve sent twice to go check up on Armani for me once, and that was that. James told

me that he was doing really fine and that it was as if he was mote cut out for the normal life than the

mafia lifestyle,

And now, he was calling me… so it was either something was wrong, or he was just wanting to come

back because he had missed rome.

“Is there a problem?” I said into the phone as I pushed myself out of my seat and started to make my

way towards the closed window in my office,

“Uh, no, there isn’t. I’d just like to come home to you, you know… it’s been really long.” He informed me

and I puffed out a deep breath and nodded my head even though he couldn’t see me at the moment,

right before I started to speak. “It really has been so long, over ten years.”

“It’s almost thirteen years.” Armani said inho the phone just as I had started to tug the curtains over the

window open and I paused at first as I absorbed his words for a few seconds before continuing to

speak.

“Yeap, thirteen years, that sounds like forever.”

“It feels more like forever, I’ve missed you so much, it almost drove me crazy.” He informed me and I

stared out into the sky, feeling the sun burn into my face in a way that wasn’t too heated for me at the

moment.

“Do you miss the whole mafia thing?” I asked after a few moments. Armani spent over three minutes

remaining silent on the other side of the phone before starting to speak. “Eh, not so much to be

honest.” He confessed like I honestly expected him to and I breathed out a small breath in the next

moment.

“What have you been up to over there?” I asked after some time, as I pressed my face into the hot From NôvelDrama.Org.

glass of the window and was still staring up into the sky.

“I think we should start with you, don’t you think so?” Armani shot back almost immediately and I

couldn’t help but breath out a small chuckle at that.

“There’s nothing pretty big going on with me at the moment,” I said to him after a fleeting moment and

the snort that slipped out of him in the next moment sounded so familiar, yet so foreign to my ears.

“Says the one that took a freaking wife and all, in my absence.” He breathed out and I felt my eyes

slide shut in the next second. I puffed out a small sigh as I started to feel my lips tug to the sides of my

mouth before I started to speak.

“Oh.” I murmured after some moments.

“Yeah, that. I didn’t think you were ever going to, you know? Take a wife.” He informed me and I felt

one of my shoulders lifted up in a small shrug the next moment, because I knew he was a hundred

percent right at the moment.

“I had to, I didn’t want to as well.” I said to him after some time and I watched as a jet came too low

around the premises of the company for a few moments before flying back high into the sky the next

moment.

“Oh, why?” He asked and I pushed away from the window after throwing another gaze outside the

window for a fleeting second.

“Well, I had to because apparently I was getting way too old to not have a wife of my own who’s going

to provide me with an heir.” I informed him as I finally arrived at the side of my desk and sat on the

edge of the table.

“Wait, that means you’re already expecting a child?” He asked in the next moment and I almost

breathed out a laugh at his words, I just know he wasn’t even going to believe the fact that I was yet to

have sex with my wife to this very day, not like I was ever going to tell him that.
