Chapter 217
Chapter 217
Sofia’s POV
“Oh.” I breathed out as I blinked up at him, as I started to wonder what it was that made him start to see
me in a way like this, I mean, yes, our marriage was an arranged one, but if he hadn’t liked me for
myself, then there was no way he’d have been able to be treating me this way only him had been able
to treat me in my whole life.
I could feel goosebumps start to bloom on my skin when Luca’s rubbed his palm over my bare arm, as
he tugged me towards him into a hug, as he pillowed his head on my hair and kept on stroking my arm,
at this moment, the urge to cry had completely deserted me, and in its place, laid lots of overflowing
affection and gratitude. I started to wonder how my life would have been if I hadn’t enter out getting
married to Luca, I started to wonder just how I’d have been living me life if I had been married off to
another older person that wasn’t Luca, I wonder just how I’d have survived being treated in a way that
wasn’t this particular way that Luca was treating me in.
And that thought alone made me press myself against him even more while tightening my hold on his
suit jacket.
I wonder if he’d find it weird if I suddenly started to tell him about the fact that I was in love with him,
right here in this hotel where I was sure we’d soon be getting to see our other dinner dates.
I puffed out a small sigh against his suit jacket and tried my best not to press my face directly into his
suit jacket, because of the fact that I currently have makeup on and wouldn’t want to mess up his suit
jacket all because we were exchanging a hug.
I pulled out of the hug after a few minutes and pulled myself until he finally released his hold on my arm
and waist, while staring down wearily at me.
“Aren’t we meeting with your friends? I wouldn’t want us to keep them waiting any longer since I
remembered you saying they’re already here at the hotel.” I said to him and watched as he quickly
glanced at his silver colored wrist water that clung firmly against his left wrist, and I watched as veins
littered his arm and hand, making me faintly feel tingles around my throat in that particular moment,
along with the faint pressure of that his hand around my neck.
I ducked my head and dragged in a deep breath, shaking my head a little as I tried to push that thought
out of my head in the next few moments.
“You’re right, bunny, I think we should get going right now.” Luca’s voice made me lift my head up once
again and I nodded my head as soon as his words had sunk into my head.
“Where are they? On the floor above us?” I asked as I skipped my hand into Luca’s outstretched palm
and his firm hold closed around my fingers, as he started to lead me towards the doors or the elevator
once again.
“Actually bunny, they’re all on the roof at the moment.” Luca said just as the elevator doors started to
slide close and I turned my head to stare up at him in surprise.
“Really?” I asked and watched as he stared down at me and nodded his head once, making my heart
soar in the next second. I hadn’t kept my hopes up about us having dinner on the roof because for one,
I didn’t know Luca was the owner, and a part of me knew I was going to be really glad if we’d get a
chance to have dinner on the rooftop.
After that particular dinner date which we had on the roof, I had been unsurprisingly obsessed with
being on rooftops ever since then.
“Yes, bunny. We’d all be having dinner there tonight.” He continued and I grinned up at him without
even realizing it.
“Oh my gosh, really?” I didn’t wait for him to respond before continuing. “I really love rooftops so much.”
I continued, bouncing a little on my feet.
“I know, bunny. You’ve even told me about your love for it once.” He continued with a small laugh and I
felt my cheeks start to heat up the next moment.
“Really?” I asked and he gave a single nod of his head.
“I had no idea… I must have forgotten.” I mumbled a little after a few seconds, my cheeks still pinked
up in slight embarrassment.
“It’s alright, bunny. We talk about so many things so it’s perfectly understandable and expected for you
to not be able to single handedly remember all what we’ve always talked about.” Luca breathed out and
I nodded my head and started to perk up as soon as he was done talking and his words had sunk into
my head, and in the next moment, I had started to perk up once again.
“And besides, that’s why I decided to give you this particular hotel, it has one of the best view on the
rooftops.” Luca pointed out and I felt myself squeezing on his fingers instantly, as a small shiver slide
down my spine at the same time.
I blinked up at him and started to slowly speak, willing my stupid tears bags to boy dear start with me
right now once agsin.
“I still can’t believe I own a hotel right now.” I whispered to him and watched as he smiled beautifully at
me, making my whole insides flop around like a merry go round in a really fast way that was almost
making me dizzy with so many emotions hitting me at once.
“Better believe it, bunny.” He mused and I bit on the side of my lower lip a little, trying not to suck the
whole of my lower lip into my mouth to avoid completely sucking off the lip gloss and color I had on it at
the moment.
“I’m trying, but it’s going to be really hard.” I said to him honestly. He lifted my hand and started to rub
his thumb over the middle of my palm in small circles, with our eyes locked immensely. I could feel
small timy shivers running down my spine as he kept up what he was doing to my palm, with tiny
goosebumps coming forth to settle over my skin in response to his thumb movement.
“Would you want me to give you another hotel as well? Maybe two hotels would make you remember
more, I presume.” He started to say in a way that got me startled for a moment because I had been
completely lost in the floaty and soothing feeling his thumb stroking over my palm insides was making
me float over my body.
I blinked once at him as his words sank into my head, I I jerked my hand out of his without evening
thinking.
“What?” I demanded but he only chuckled in response.
“I said that perhaps…” I started to shake my head before he could even get up to five words out of his
mouth, making him trail off as he gave me an unreadable look.
“No, no. I don’t need you to give me another hotel.” I said to him with a slow shake of my head. Luca
lifted his hand and started to slowly trace his index finger in weird shapes on my bare shoulder as I
spoke, and my voice wobbled a little as a small shudder slid down my spine.
One thing I’ve come to understand and love about Luca was the fact that he couldn’t stay beside me
without wanting to touch me. It most times didn’t involve anything sexual. I’ve come to understand the
fact that one thing Luca used in communicating his attraction or obsession, was by physical touch. Ever
since we got closer, Luca couldn’t remain in the same room as myself without touching my arm or
holding my hand or touching my cheeks or placing a small or lingering kiss on my cheeks and head, he
also enjoys running his fingers through my hair and carding his fingers through the silky strands. I’ve
come to love and welcome those things because I was also a huge fan of physical touch, but didn’t
really understand that part about myself because there were a lot of people that I could touch back
when I was still not married.
“Are you sure, bunny?” Luca asked and I nodded my head instantly.
“I do.” I paused and huffed slowly with a small shrug. “I mean, what am I going to even do with this
particular hotel, I have no idea to be honest.” I confessed to him honestly and watched as he smiled
softly at me before starting to speak.
“I already have all these planned out for you.” Luca informed me and I perked up instantly, staring up at
him with an amazed facial expression.
“Really.”
“Yes, bunny.” He replied and moved his hand which had been faintly stroking over my bare shoulder,
over to the other shoulder through my back, and he pulled me against him, making me sign out softly
and comfortably.
“I’ll arrange a day when you’d be meeting with layers, for the documents to be transferred to your
name, and then you can meet with the engineers and architects.” He continued and I felt a pang start to
grow heavy in my throat.
It was as if Luca had suddenly read my face and I had figured out what it was that was wrong with me,
because in the next moment, he was lifting my face up to him with a light hold on my jaw.
“I’ll be with you throughout the whole thing we’d be doing, alright?” He started to say and my eyes
widened a little. Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
“Really?” I whispered and he nodded his head once.
“You’re the best, Luca.” I whispered earnestly, meaning every single word, as I leaned into his touch
against my bare shoulder and around my chin.
“No, that’s you. You’re the best, bunny.”
