You Can Run But You Can't Hide My Contractual Wife

Chapter 267: Playboy's Smile

Chapter 267: Playboy's Smile

Why did she feel great danger is coming?

She just saw her father.

He just appeared in front of her yesterday.

Then why did she was already kidnapped now?

What's happening?

"Okay... take my word. I will bring back your wife. But you have to promise me that you will leave me

and my father alone!" Arabella said roughly.

It pissed her so much dealing with a stranger, especially Sen. Meyer.

He was clearly blackmailing her.

Who would have not known him?

Ever since he was known as a crook senator but for many, he put on a good image with a perfect ideal

family.

That included Trishia and Alicia Meyer.

Now, she could confirm that the man in front of her is really the most crook in the government.

He used his power to get what he wanted.

He could even kidnap her and threatened to kill her.

Arabella couldn't help to be thankful that he lost the election otherwise he would be the monster in the

government.

Then she realized, Trishia was with the same shoe as her father.

No wonder, Trishia got her traits from Sen. Meyer.

Someone who didn't value life.

Just like Bill Sky.

Why did she have to meet such kinds of people?

She was surrounded by crooks, hoodlums, and killers.

What a life!

She couldn't help but react rashly in the air.

How could she protect her loved ones from these kinds of people?

Her dad, Damien, Eric, Lira, Farrah, and most especially Adam.

"Good Girl." Hearing her answer, Sen. Meyer grinned devilishly.

"Then I will give you three days to retrieve my wife." He added with eyes pierced into her sharply.

"Then can you keep your words, Sen. Meyer?" She wanted to make sure that they were not talking bull

sh*t.

With this kind of people, there was no assurance.

No commitment and no responsibilities.

They could easily turn away from their words so she wanted to corner him.

Maybe... just maybe he would be too proud and follow what he promised.

"Hahaha!" Sen. Meyer laughed wickedly. "Smart girl! I just hope Trishia would be just like you." He

added meaningfully.

Great disappointment showed his eyes. "Anyway... you have my word."

Arabella nodded showing her contentment with his answer but deep inside she was like hearing an

empty promise.

She would never believe a person like him.

She just have to pretend so she could get out from there unharmed.

Saving herself first is the main priority then after that, she could plan what to do.

She had to see her dad.

She had to know the whole truth.

"So, can I go now?" She asked holding her trembling.

Sen. Meyer looked at her seriously then after a while, he smirked raising his hands in the air giving her

a sign that she could go.

Without wasting any seconds, she turned around to leave.

"Wait!" Sen. Meyer suddenly stopped her.

She halted holding her breath.

"I know you are a smart girl but just a friendly reminder, no one should know about this. Clear? You

know what's gonna ha..." It was clearly another threat so Arabella just nodded to cut him. She was very

used to this kind of threat if he only knew.

Gosh!

Ever since she met Bill Sky, her left and right had threats.

She was surrounded by a lot of threats.

Thinking about this, she could not help but rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"Look, Sen. Meyer. I'm immune to this kind of threat. My life was surrounded by threats. I know what

you want from me. So, don't worry. Just keep your words and I will keep mine." She answered

aggressively.

She was about to continue walking but she was stopped again.

"Why are you trying to save your dad even if he chose his mistress over his family?" Sen. Meyer asked

behind her.

She stopped and turned around to face him.

"Because he is my dad." She answered directly then swiftly left.

She couldn't stand a person like him in the same room.

She would die in suffocation if she stayed there for a little while.

When she was out of an old building, she heaved a sigh of relief.

The place was strategically located in an outskirt area.

With her walking freely outside, that just meant Sen. Meyer was showing how powerful he is.

He was simply not afraid that she would report his hideout or this place was just one of his many

hideouts.

She had to walk 30 minutes to get a cab.

Inside the car, she was still in a deep mess.

How could she find her father?

How could she get Alicia back to her husband?

"Dad! Why do you have to create a big problem?"

"Why do you have to get someone's wife?"

"Urggghh! Why do you have to do this to me?"

She couldn't help to yell in the air.

"Are you okay, Ms.?" The cab driver stopped on the side and worriedly asked.

That was the only time Arabella snapped back to her senses.

She opened her eyes and sat up straight.

"Please go on. I'm okay. I swear, I'm good." She answered along with her crimson cheeks caused by

her embarrassment.

Hearing her, the driver drove swiftly but before she could reach her house, she stopped in a nearby

cafeteria.

She ordered a cold latte and sat in a corner.

She heaved a deep sigh stabilizing herself.

Today she was saved but what about tomorrow?

The issue with her father merely added to her problems.

She had to make a concrete plan but before anything else, she had to find his father.

Yes. This is where she's going to start but how?

Sen. Meyer just gave her 3 days to get back his wife.

What should she be going to do?

"Arabella?" She regained her senses hearing the voice calling out her name.

She immediately looked at the person in front of her.

"Jayson?" She was stunned to see an old acquaintance.

"Wow! I don't know what to say. It's been a while. How are you?" Jayson said excitedly as he strode

closer to her.

"Mind if I share a seat with you?" He added pointing to the opposite chair at her table.

"Of course. Sure." Jayson was right. It's been a while since they haven't seen each other.

"Why are you here alone?" He asked frowning. He was obviously puzzled.

"Well..." How could she answer him?

She didn't even know how to tell herself why she was sitting alone.

Should she say she lost Adam?

Should she say her marriage with Eric was just a show?

Come on! It's Jayson. Your ex-boyfriend.

Maybe if they had seen each other regularly, she could tell everything to him but their relationship

changed over time. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Plus, she tried to avoid him before because she didn't want Margaret to misunderstand them.

"Okay... sorry for asking." He seemed to get her expression as he quickly averted the topic.

"What about you?" She asked sipping her latte.

"Well... same... same..." Jayson answered smirking lazily.

"And you?" He asked her back.

Arabella was taken aback.

"Jayson..." When they were together before, Jayson was closed to her family, especially to her father.

Jayson looked at her eagerly waiting for her words.

“What is it, Arabella?” He asked.

“My dad…” She heaved a sigh before she continued.

“My dad is not dead.” She couldn’t still believe the sudden event while she spoke.

“He is alive. I just saw him yesterday.” She really needed someone to listen to her right now to clear up

her messy mind.

“Jayson? Are you okay?” Seeing Jayson was not reacting, she snapped him out.

“Ahhh… yeah,” Jayson answered absentmindedly.

“Did you hear me?” She asked trying to confirm because his reaction was a bit awkward.

His cool seemed to instantly fade as he stuttered.

“Oh! Well… of course. I am just shocked. You know… we all know what happened right? How come? I

mean why now?” He came back to his senses.

“Well… that’s what I am asking too and only he could answer it.” She blurted out along with a deep

sigh.

“So, you mean… you haven’t talked with him yet?” Jayson’s expression was very eager to know.

With a disappointed expression, she shook her head repeatedly to answer Jayson.

“Oh! That’s awful.” He commented.

“Jayson, can you help me find my father?” Asking for Jayson’s help was a desperate act but she had

no choice as she didn’t want to bother Eric.

She knew that Eric was with Rosy right now and it was unfair that she would distract their moment

together with her problem.

She didn’t want to give them any problem.

“Oh! Sure… I can help you. No problem with that.” He said with a smile.

Hearing Jayson, she felt great relief.

Maybe heaven had sent Jayson to her to help her.

Of all people, Jayson saw her there.

So they exchanged contact numbers.

“Honey, I’m done. Let’s go.” Suddenly, a female melodious voice was heard.

A sexy woman was already in front of them.

Arabella frowned while she looked at Jayson maliciously.

Jayson smiled at her then he went closer to the woman and put his arm on her shoulder.

“Arabella, meet Jennie Kendler.” Jayson introduced the woman to her.

Her jaw wanted to drop in front of them literally.

Arabella knew the woman.

Jennie Kendler was the new face of the Hansen Group.

Her face was on the billboards around Capital Z.

“Honey, Arabella Jones.” Jayson introduced her.

What happened to Jayson?

Why did he become so shameless?

This isn’t the Jayson she used to know.

She felt pity for Margaret.

From that moment, she regretted asking for his help.

“Jayson? Ahhh… Can I talk to you for a moment?” Arabella asked firmly.

“Sure...” Jayson strode forward along with Jennie who was glued to his arm.

“Alone?” Arabella couldn’t help it. She sounded strict but she didn’t care.

Jayson smirked coolly at her like he already knew the matter they were going to talk about.

Jennie rolled her eyes showing that she didn’t like Arabella.

“What’s this Jayson? You are married. Why are you flirting with this girl? What about your family?” She

couldn’t help bombarding Jayson.

She was scolding him like her little brother.

“You know, I don’t love Margaret,” Jayson answered. His expression carried strong refusal. “I just

married her to help her.”

“But you are still married!” Arabella couldn’t tolerate this kind of man.

Why she was surrounded by these kinds of men.

Untrustworthy and dishonest.

From her father to Jayson and Bill Sky.

She couldn’t believe it.

Men were a great pain in the ass.

Jayson could feel her annoyance so he just remained silent while he was shaking his head.

He folded his arms in front of him listening to her scolding.

“Jayson, Margaret loves you. You have a son Clark. He loves you too! Value the people who love you.

Will you? Before it’s too late.” As her ex-boyfriend, she still cared for him as a friend. More likely as her

family.

Jayson just nodded at her.

“That girl? I don’t mean to judge but I’m sure she knew that you are married.” She continued not feeling

sober from her irk.

“Yeah. She knew.” Jayson answered lazily.

“I don’t want to be rude but, in that case, that girl is with you because of your money. No love. I’m sure

you know that right?” She looked at Jayson trying to convey effectively her real message through her

eyes.

“I know, Arabella… I know. And I don’t love her too. We are both using each other so don’t worry about

it.” Jayson answered with a charming smile.

Why she was seeing Jayson’s playboy side?

She instantly felt helpless when she heard him and saw his playboy smile.

She smirked strictly showing him that she was unhappy with what he was doing in his life.

“Don’t blame me. This is my life now after you turned me down.” Jayson’s voice turned gloomy but he

regained his cool back quickly.

Arabella was dumbfounded.

It was clear that Jayson blamed her.

“Jayson…” She muttered.

Jayson strode closer to her and hugged her without caring about Jennie behind.

“Thanks for scolding but really, I’m glad to see you again. I promise to help you see your father. Bye for

now.” Jayson whispered then he smiled at her first before he turned around and put his arm on Jennie’s

shoulder.

They left her in awe.

It was another shock of her life.

Jayson, her ex-boyfriend became a playboy. Great!

Night came, she was about to settle in her bed when her phone rang.

Jayson Hansen.

“Arabella, as promised. Tomorrow you will see your dad.” He announced.

Arabella’s heart jolted thinking to see her father again.

Thinking of talking to him again.

She still didn’t know how to react.

“Arabella, are you still there?” Jayson sounded.

“Yeahhh…” She could only mutter.

“Tomorrow. At your mother’s grave.” Jayson dropped the details and then ended the call.
