Natalie was busy packing at home when Uriah came bursting through the door, nearly out of breath.

“Miss Natalie, our family store has been smashed up!”

“A warning would’ve sufficed,” Natalie replied, her mind elsewhere.

Uriah usually handled these small things on his own, whether vandalism or a robbery. She didn’t

understand why he needed to inform her this time.

“It’s not that…” Uriah handed her a laptop. “You need to see the security footage!”

Taking the laptop, Natalie glanced at the screen and felt a jolt of recognition. The ringleader of the

vandalism was Reid.

Brian had found King’s store!

She froze for a few seconds and looked up at Uriah. “Did you call the cops?”

“We checked the background of the attackers first and haven’t called the police yet.” Uriah replied

cautiously.

After pondering for a while, Natalie stood up. “Don’t bother with the police. I’ll handle this. And don’t tell

King about it yet. He’ll worry.”

Brian had only targeted one of their stores. It was likely that he was still unaware of King’s true identity.

His actions were because of her.

It was a personal issue between her and Brian.

It would only complicate matters if King got wind of it before she handled the situation, especially when

she was sure of King’s feelings for her.

She took a few minutes to think and then picked up her cell phone from the table. Just as she opened

her contacts, Gavin’s call came through. She answered immediately.

“Have you returned home yet? Do you know Brian’s in trouble?” Gavin’s voice came through, full of

concern.

“He followed you to Bluestar and got caught up in an explosion. He’s back how but keeping to himself,

recovering. I’m not sure how badly he’s hurt.”

An explosion? Natalie was stunned by the coincidence.

She was silent for a while, prompting Gavin to ask, “Natalie, are you listening? Is this explosion related

to you guys? If Brian finds out…”

“I understand,” Natalie cut him off, her voice soft but firm. “I’m heading back today.”

After hanging up, Natalie turned to Uriah. “Uriah, leak the recording of Q betraying the Truth Group.

King already has a copy, but I’ll give you another one. Take care of King for me, and be careful.”

“It’s almost midnight. Are you sure you want to leave now?” Frowning, Uriah couldn’t help but remind

her.

Natalie nodded. “There’s a minor issue back home. I need to take care of it.”

“Do you need our help?” Uriah looked at her intently.

“It’s nothing major, and I need to handle it personally,” she replied vaguely.

After a thought, she added, “I won’t say goodbye at the hospital. Tell King I’m considering his question

from yesterday and that I’ll get back to him.”

Natalie rushed back to her place at Prestige Penthouses, only to find all of Nate’s clothes were gone.

She could only imagine how angry Brian was.

Sitting alone in the living room, she stared at the brocade box in her bag for a long time.

Before she left, she asked Rosie to pick out a gift for Nate from the mall. Knowing Nate’s frail. health,

she had Rosie select a Black Diamond Pendant and preyed in the church to ward off evil spirits. NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.

She didn’t intentionally miss Nate’s birthday party. She truly wanted to be there to give him the Black

Diamond Pendant herself.

After a while, she took out the red brocade box and her phone, found Reid’s number, and dialed. It took

a long time before Reid answered.

“Did Nate…” She hesitated before speaking.
