Chapter 3 A Typical Hypocrite
Chapter 3 A Typical Hypocrite
Sadness recurred in a heavy blow.
Amber was thoroughly drained -- exhausted by the rage of being sold out, the disdain for Oliver’s moral
quality and a broken heart. She was shuffling and stumbling.
Oliver raised his head and looked this way.
Amber made a hasty retreat into a corner.
At this moment, Oliver was the last man she wanted to meet.
She might run out of control, questioning and scolding him out loud.
Enough drama for today. She did not want to make another scene at the gate of the hotel.
Two housekeepers approached with a plain trolley, loaded with linens. What they said was heard by
Amber clearly.
“Lucky for you to get this nice cashmere coat!”
“Yep! Perfect for my son! So soft, so fine!” A middle-aged woman spread the coat, looking at it up and
down happily.
A careless glance at the coat froze Amber.
It looked familiar—20 minutes ago, she was wearing it.
Liam Croft’s coat.
The one embroidered with an iconic, dazzling, golden “H” on the deluxe, discreet lining. Thousands of
dollars threw off so easily.
Only because she was wearing it?
She felt so degraded and insulted.
She thought better Liam Croft! NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
Okay, so he's very attractive, confident, commanding, at ease with himself—with all the impeccable
manners, he is arrogant and snobbish!
Don’t seek excuse for mysophobia, a laundry will do, OK? Threw away such a fine coat because it was
exposed to her, a grass-root, Penny-less girl! What a hypocritical snob!
Overwhelmed by rage, Amber fished out Liam’s card and made a call.
The phone was soon picked up. Before Amber sharpened her tone, there came Liam’s impassive
voice: “What?”
How pretentious!
Amber held tight of her phone and said word by word: “This is my decision: I reject your offer!”
Then she held her breath and waited, expecting Liam to ask why.
So she could reprove him right away that she would rather lose all her reputation than make any deal
with a mean snob.
There was a lengthy silence. To her dismay, Amber didn’t get any response from Liam for at least 20
seconds.
Filled with frustration, Amber got nothing but an “OK” from Liam, followed was busy tone. His voice was
rather calm, as always.
‘This is it!?’ Amber stared at her phone with furious anger. She had every intention to smash the phone
into pieces. Holy crap! What a crummy day! Being sold out by Oliver Stein, diminished by a dandy,
nude pictures taken by paparazzi… Why so many shits happened to her!
Amber scrambled out of the elevator.
“My darling! Here you come! Please allow me to explain!” Finally, Oliver cleaned the nose blood on his
pretty face and retrieved his gentleman look.
He stepped forward to clutch Amber’s arm.
At the gate bustling with people, Amber hated to make any drama. She snapped: “Oliver Stein, we are
over. Let go of me in 10 seconds or I will call the police.”
