Chapter 8: Comeback
Cinyla’s POV
I get a hurry when I heard the sharp fall of what was until I saw my mother picking up a plate that had fallen to the floor.
“Oh sorry, Cris! The plate is broken.”
“Just be careful. I’ll be home later. Thank you for the food that you prepared. Oh, by the way, did my brother’s daughter is big now?” he asked. I heard their conversation and the voice is familiar it is from my Uncle Cris.
I was on the side of the stairs, I was surprised by the one next to me. “So it’s you!” shocked I said to BenChua next to me.
I slapped him for making the storage that seemed to give me nervousness at those times. “Why are you here?! You look like a ghost!” I whispered as I looked at him badly.
“I’m sorry, I was just surprised that it broke. I thought your mom and uncle were hurt.” his monotonous explanation gave me calm.
I was about to go up when he held my right hand. “Just wait,”
“W-Why? We already know what happened to them I’m going to get dressed,” I said and removed his hand from my right hand.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“H-Ha? Y-yeah!” I sparingly answer.
He was about to speak but I stepped back and entered my room. I don’t want to answer his question because I honestly don’t know the right answer to a simple question. On top of that, my brain was also confused by the mysterious text and call that made me feel. I didn’t know who it was and how he found my number.
I entered my room, I tied my long hair first and then got dressed. My window is closed when I’m dressing inside because it’s hard for someone to look.
In a few moments I also finished changing clothes, I put my laundry aside so I can wash it tonight. I don’t do laundry regularly, but when I wear them from work I wash them right away. on my bed for a moment and saw my cellphone already there. I almost stared at it but eventually, I also decided to take it, I no longer receive messages and calls. I tried to dial the number but unfortunately, I didn’t have any load. I was saddened to realize that it had just expired.Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
I just don’t understand why he’s only now feeling it. I always ride in the car but only now in the jeep because I’m wearing pants. Honestly, I’m not an artist, I just don’t want my past to happen again because when I remember it I’m stunned and cry.
Memories that I try to bury in oblivion… These memories that I wish I could turn back time so that it doesn’t happen again. Why me?
My door opened and I was surprised by what was spit out.
I saw my mother seem worried. “Cinyla, my daughter, are you okay?” she asked and raised an eyebrow in astonishment.
“Yes, mom. I’m fine,” I said. I no longer have the contribution I have to her. Even though what happened yesterday was still a bit vague to me, I just tried to put it aside and think that my mother had a reason.
Mother looked at my whole being, I don’t know why she was acting like this so I spoke again, “M-Mom? What is that?” She took a deep breath and held it to his chest. “It’s good that you’re okay, just don’t pay attention to who’s texting you or even calling. Please. I’ll talk to BenChua to take you and follow you.” It was a long explanation as if mama knew what was bothering my mind right now.
“M-Mom, do you know him?”
Mom sit down first beside me and closed the door. “I don’t know son who he is, if I know why I would keep it a secret from you right? All I know now is he is watching and I don’t want you to be in danger because the other day someone was laughing and texting me as well. I also tried to message him and call him but he does not answer, ” she adds.
The information we have now is mixed, I feel like someone wants to surprise our lives. But who? And why now?
“Your uncle was left, he was just visiting us. But I feel differently, I know he has another reason for immediately visiting. So, Cinyla listens, always be careful okay? For now, trust me first. I don’t want you to think about it too much because you’ll still be confused. ”
“C-Confused?”
“Please, Sweetie I’ll talk to BenChua first. I’ll just call you again when we’re done eating. Rest first. Don’t pay any attention to that.” He tapped me on the shoulder and said goodbye, then left as well.
As he left me dumbfounded and confused. What is going on? Does mom know anything?
I just close my eyes because of the questions that bother me. It’s as if there’s a piece of my personality now that’s missing the most, what’s even more painful is the loss of papa and I’ll know them.
I looked again at the number that had prompted me since I came home. I looked at each end of the number but even if I flipped them over, there was no answer no matter who was behind it. There was not even a clue as to who he was. I stood and looked at the necklace in my mother’s gift that had not come from her. I opened the little red box. I removed the necklace and checked well if there was something there.
But… I was confused because there was only a piece of paper and it contained the words KEEP IT, CINYLA.
I think he knows me, me and mom. What I don’t understand is why is it in him? I don’t know if what I have in mind is right. But he’s vague… Besides, papa is gone, he’s dead.
The questions and answers that I throw almost drive me crazy. In the middle of my questions, something falls under my desk.
I pick it up and when I see and get it, it was just a piece of paper. So I just ignored it and suddenly there someone was a knocking on my door.
“Cinyla, this is BenChua. We’re going to eat!” He shouted from outside my door.
“Yet, it’s a show, let me know I’ll be next. Thank you!” I shouted too and put the box and the necklace in the cupboard next to my books.
I also put my cellphone in the bag because I won’t use it. I put them aside in my mind because my stomach suddenly boiled. I seemed to feel hungry, yeah I am hungry! I go down and forget all those things for a while because I will eat something heavy food.
