I don’t intend to die right now
Letta was startled as someone shook her shoulder firmly, making her realize that she had suddenly fallen asleep. Letta lowered her head and looked at Sean, who was looking at her with raised eyebrows.
“Sorry, I woke you up like that because you didn’t wake up when I called you,” Sean said, making Letta try to gather her senses before nodding. Letta remembered her phone, but Sean suddenly grabbed her wrist, surprising Letta.
“Do you want to say something?” Sean asked, making Letta nod her head.
“Can you postpone it? I only have a little time, so it’s better to follow my lead, and you can say anything when we get to the place I meant this morning,” Sean said, making Letta about to open her mouth, but Sean suddenly stopped her.
“I haven’t even washed my face,” Letta said, but Sean seemed not to hear and took Letta’s hand to run. They ran to one of the tall buildings that seemed unfinished. Sean took Letta inside the building.
“Where are you taking me? Isn’t this an unfinished building? What if someone scolds us?” Letta asked, breathing heavily.
“No one will scold us. This building has been abandoned for a long time, so don’t worry. There might be a few residents who will disturb you,” Sean said, patting her arm. They ran up the stairs, and Letta stopped, exhausted.
“Sean, stop. I’m really tired. Do we have to keep climbing stairs like this?” Letta asked, making Sean nod.
“Hurry, there’s not much time left. I’m coming home later than my schedule was supposed to be,” Sean said, pulling Letta, who hadn’t even fully breathed in the fresh air.
They reached the rooftop of the building, and Letta ran. But Sean pulled her again, even before Letta could properly catch her breath. Finally, they arrived on the rooftop, where Letta stopped running.
“I’m really tired. You pulled me before I could even breathe properly,” Letta said.
“Stop talking and look ahead,” Sean interrupted, making Letta straighten her body and gaze at the beautiful scenery. The sun was setting behind the clouds, creating a stunning orange sky. Letta turned to Sean, who smiled at her.
“How do you know a place like this?” Letta asked, making Sean smile.
“It’s been a long time, and I can’t count, maybe it’s been hundreds of times that I’ve seen a view like this, and I really wanted to show it to you,” Sean said, making Letta walk ahead. Letta approached the beautiful horizon, stepping on the soft clouds and walking towards the beautiful setting sun, gradually making way for the night.
“If you keep walking, you might really go to the sky,” Sean said, seeing Letta not stopping her steps.
“Don’t worry, I don’t intend to die right now,” Letta said, laughing, making Sean finally choose to sit with Letta on the wall, enjoying the beautiful sunset.
“Sorry for dragging you to run and not letting you rest because if we were late even for a few minutes, you wouldn’t have been able to see the beauty of the sunset earlier,” Sean said, making Letta smile.
“It’s okay, my tiredness feels worth it with this view, and I also just found out that from the top of this building, this small town is sometimes shrouded in thick clouds like that,” Letta said, making Sean nod.
“Yes, that’s why sometimes the weather here is cold, even though the sun is shining, but the air is sometimes chilly,” Sean nodded. Letta remained silent for a moment until she remembered something.
“Oh yeah, I wanted to ask you,” Letta said, making Sean look at her.
“Yes, go ahead,” Sean said.
“Did you see my phone with the cracked screen? If I’m not mistaken, I left it right next to the TV cabinet,” Letta said, making Sean nod.
“I saw it earlier,” Sean said.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Really?” Letta asked with a gleam in her eye.
“Yes, I fixed your phone,” Sean said, making Letta shocked and pale.
“You fixed my phone?” Letta asked again, making Sean nod.
“Because I saw the cracked screen, I thought your phone was dead. But it turned out that after I took it to my friend, he said only the screen was cracked, while the phone itself was fine. There might be some functions that might need servicing, but don’t worry, I’ve taken care of it,” Sean said as he handed Letta her phone in a much better condition, with a seemingly replaced screen, and the phone was turned on.
“You turned on my phone without taking out the SIM card?” Letta asked, making Sean nod.
“Yes, at first, I just wanted to check it, but after I turned it on, there were a lot of messages coming in. Even the phone didn’t stop ringing for an hour. I really didn’t pick up or look at your phone because I felt it was your privacy,” Sean said, making Letta immediately take the phone with trembling hands. It was at that moment that Sean saw Letta’s terrified expression.
Letta widened her eyes when she saw numerous messages sent by someone whose name was only saved in the phone. There were no other contacts except that number, and it seemed to be her husband, sending who knows what, making Letta too scared to even read them. Not to mention the incoming phone calls, making Letta’s vision blur.
Sean reached out and wiped the side of Letta’s face. “Are you okay? You look pale, and your hands are shaking. Is it because I brought you to run up this building?” Sean asked, making Letta shake her head. But the next second, Sean was surprised when a teardrop now wet Letta’s cheek. Sean didn’t know what to do to calm Letta, who looked so frightened.
