The Villainess Won't Die

Chapter Thirty

AFTER TAKING A DEEP BREATH, I CLOSED MY EYES and made myself very clear to her. "Listen, Kate," my tone was firm and I sensed when she froze. "I respect you and regard you as a mother. But you cannot forget that even though I try taking your thoughts into consideration, I am the one who has the last word. My life is mine to make whatever I want, it's not you who decides things for me. Got it?" I opened my eyes and stared at her pink-ish eyes. "As a human being, my patience only last to a certain point. I really do not want to be rude to you, but you need to understand your place in our relationship, okay?"

She tried to hide behind a smile, but I saw very clearly when she clenched her teeth and the glow in her eyes got fierce. But that was shortly gone and she acted like a respectful and pure woman again. "Yes, Your Royal Highness," she blurted. I guess everyone has this side inside of them, but unlike me, most people hide it from everybody, like Kate. That must be the reason why I thought she was a little strange. I knew I was just overthinking it.

"Moreover," I began. "My relationship with my dad doesn't concern anyone but me." This time I got really serious, and my aura was so frightening that she looked down and Asher looked away. "Do not... I repeat, do not say that to me again. You don't have the right to tell me that if I don't do something the way they say I should, I will disappoint my father, Katherine!" She knows how this pisses me off, so why did she do it? "I may overlook the things you say, but not when it's related to Val or to my relationship with my father. Do you understand, Kate?"

"I understand, Princess. I'm sorry. I misspoke, and I shouldn't have said that knowing it bothers you!" So, she knows it?!

"Then don't do it. I don't want to get mad at you!" I sighed, feeling my energy running out. "So, let me get this straight with you. We will go to the casinos disguised as other people, using your magic. There, I will do my thing and win money. Remember, you will be there will be, and so will Asher. Nothing bad will happen."

I saw when her shoulders got lighter and a smile appeared on her lips. "Then I will protect you from those dangerous people." Uh?

Both I and Asher burst out laughing at how unreal, adorable and funny that was. "You are adorable, Kate." She only rolled her eyes, but we kept laughing until Pierre came with our food and I undid the barrier around us. He placed our first meal in front of us and when the smell hit me, my stomach even talked. "For Mikla's sake, I've never been so hungry in my whole life."

"And I've never been so satisfied to serve anyone either," he pointed making me smile. Then he turned his head to my companions. "I'm Chef Pierre, the owner of the bistro. It's a pleasure to meet you," he bowed slightly. "I hope the food is for your taste."

"Oh, please, there's no need to bow like that. I'm just her Knight, not a noble or anything close to that," Asher spoke shocked when he saw Pierre's action, while Kate said nothing. She's probably still moody after I scolded her. I almost feel bad. But it was necessary.

"Don't worry, young man. Here in the Bistro, everyone eats my food regardless of social class, so everyone is equal inside here in my eyes. Although Princess Natasha is probably my favorite customer, even when she can't come here so often. It's the work of a Chef like me, to treat all of his clients with the utmost respect." Pierre's voice was gentle and it made me like him even more, then his gaze turned to me. "I'm preparing your favorite dessert."

Tiramisu. The best of all. He is on pair with Yoostaf. And believe me when I say that Yoostaf's tiramisu is Goddess-tier. His lemon pie too, just thinking about it doubles my anger.

He left us alone and in no time, I was devouring my food in a classy way, showing everybody around that I may be magicless but I have better manners than most. The grape juice was also delicious, complementing everything. "Go easy, Princess. Or you might get sick from eating too much," this time it was Asher, and only nodded, getting back to my precious food.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

And that was when I heard. Not so far away, down there somewhere, a girl asking for help. I looked at Asher but he didn't seem to hear anything. It seems like my sharp senses came to the past with me if not even Asher heightened senses managed to hear it before me.

I heard it again and she seemed to be desperate. What the fuck is happening? I can't stand this. What if some motherfucker is trying to abuse her? More than anyone, I don't want anyone to go through that.

Not caring about anything else including my food, I got up abruptly, took Kallisto off of the fancy belt on my waist, and jumped down from the rooftop. Leaving everyone behind, focused on saving the terrified girl.

I landed on the street, scaring the sit out of everyone, almost causing a carriage to hit another one. And when they saw the murderous look on my face and felt the aura around me, they got even more scared. Following my senses, hunting my prey, almost stopped when I smelled the metallic and familiar scent of blood, which send my mind into havoc, but I managed to keep going.

When I finally arrived in the dark alley, I froze for an instant when I saw them. Like I thought, someone was trying to abuse her. Not just one guy, but five. They were all encircling her like fucking abutters, with disgusting grins on their ugly faces that said for themselves what they were planning to do with the girl. While she was crying for help on the ground with her dress ripped to shreds.

The made me go blind with anger. Made me feel like the assassin I used to be under Dalilah's control. I felt my bloodlust get free of my repression and surround the whole alley, and that caught the attention of the dipshits who didn't know that they were the ones in danger for being in such an isolated place with me and not the other way around.

"Ha, look mates," the taller and skinnier one spoke, licking his way-too-full lips. "It seems like another girl wants to join and satisfy-"

In a blink of an eye, I was in front of him, with a psychotic grin on and piercing my sharp sword deep into his crotch, feeling his blood wet my gloved hands. "Tsk. Those were the best gloves I had," I exclaimed, getting Kallisto out of his shitty body. "Now my Kallisto is also dirty because of this motherfucker's blood," and I made my annoyance very clear in my tone.

"Psychopath!" The redhead screamed in shock, still holding the girl's hair.

"Who are you, bitch?" And this time it was the brown-haired shorter guy who dared to speak with me.

I looked from the girl, who seemed scared by all the blood I spilled, to them and my bloodlust got even stronger while I clenched my teeth and tightened my grip on Kallisto. "If you don't leave this girl alone, I promise I will feed the left pieces of your mutilated body to the dogs!" My tone was deadly calm, and they got scared shitless.

But not enough to obey my words.

It's not like I was planning to spare their lives anyway. I was just afraid the dogs might have bad digestion, but we'll deal with that after I'm done with those damn rapists.
