Chapter 20: Alpha Ash
What are you wanting access to again?” I asked the dragon twins, trying to keep any trace of annoyance out of my voice. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
“We need access to the archives. King Nikolai wants more information on the blood moon.”
“Ahh does he know?” I inquired reaching up stroking my blond beard.
“Yes, something about the effects the blood moon has on Vampires. He insisted that the wolf pack has the longest history on the blood moon.” Replied the shorter of the twins.
“That is true.” I said puffing my chest out with pride.
My wolves were the best supernatural out there, we knew all the secrets of the other supernaturals, we fought together as a united front making us stronger than the others. We deserved to be king, not that filthy blood sucker. A low growl started up in my chest, and the dragon twins looked at me questioningly,
“Sorry,” I said faking an apology, “My wolf is excited about the mating season, we’ve been looking for our fated mate for quite some time now.”
The twins didn’t respond, but their facial expressions showed that they understood my dilemma, Hah if only they knew that I was plotting their beloved king’s demise.
“Omega,” I called to one of the servants waiting in the hall outside my office.
A small timid girl with dirty blond hair and a skinny frame walked in. She had been one of the pack orphans, her parents were warriors who had passed away in one of the many pack disputes. I had expected the girl to grow up tall and strong like both of her parents, instead, she’d turned into the girl who stood before me, a weakling who was to small to have a wolf spirit. If it wasn’t for who her parents were I
would’ve cast her out of the pack, but her parents were devoted warriors and I felt like it was my responsibility to care for her, so I made her an omega at the pack-house when she came of age. She was too, plain for the other wolves living here to want to fuck her, so this was the perfect place for her.
“Yes, Alpha.” The girl said quietly looking down. It was a pack rule that any wolf labeled as an omega couldn’t look the Alpha, Luna, Beta, and female Beta in the eyes. To look at us would be a sentence worse than death, they would face exile and be labeled a rouge. After a month or so without a pack, a rouge wolf will go mad and start to lose touch with their human side.

“I need you to escort the Dragon twins to the archives. They are looking for information on the blood moon.”
“Yes, Alpha.” The girl responded glancing towards the Dragon twins, her face flushing red before she averted her gaze away from them.
“Thank you Alpha Ash.” The twins said in unison, bowing their head down to me as a sign respect.
ELLE
“Of course boys, any time.” I smirked at twins, trying to contain my excitement, so the dragon shifters couldn’t detect something was off.
The omega walked out with the dragon twins, showing them to the archives. I waited a full five minutes after the twins departure before I mind linked my beta, requesting he meet me immediately in my office, unable to contain my excitement any longer, after years of being patient and waiting for the perfect moment to strike, we had the perfect opportunity.
Beta Daniels appeared in front of me within a matter of minutes he didn’t seem to happy by my summons and from the smell of him, I could tell he’d been chasing tail over at the lunar howl, a popular bar in town that unmated she wolves frequented.
“You summoned me my alpha?” Beta Daniels smiled, the emotion not quite meeting his eyes, as he bared his neck to me. I knew my Beta wanted to be more, he wanted to take my place as Alpha and lead the wolves to victory in their fight for number one supernatural. But Beta Daniels was inpatient and if he battled me as alpha right now he’d lose. His blood wasn’t alpha blood and he’s battle form isn’t as strong as mine. The only reason he is my beta is because of his excellent tracking skills and his brute strength. He has brought plenty of money to the pack, making us one of the wealthiest supernaturals in the world, only coming in second to the vampires, thanks to king Nikolai.
“The time has come Charles.” I growled out at Beta Daniels, my wolf trying to take over, excited to finally take vengeance upon the filthy blood suckers.
Charles looked up, finally meeting my eyes, his flashing to his wolf for just an instant before he gained control over it. His lip curled up into a wicked grin, his joy showing clearly.
“When do we leave Alpha?” He asked in his gruff voice.
“Not we,” I said, crossing my arms beginning to pace my office. It was getting harder to control my wolf, he wanted to escape and run through the forest.”you, Beta Daniels, will be leading a team of elite warriors into the Blood Palace, you will find something precious to king Nikolai, something that will cripple him, and guarantee our win, if you can grab the item then do it, if not gather as much information as you can and then return here immediately.”
Beta Daniela let out a snarl of discontentment. “You’re sending me on a fucking reckon mission?”
“Do I need to remind you that I am your Alpha,” I snarled at Charles, letting some of my alpha aura wash over him, laughing as he flinched under its force. “You will do as I command, and not hesitate for a
minute. If you question me again, I will strip you of your title and banish you from the pack.” I snarled, my anger rising at his insubordination.
Charles struggled under my command, as if he was trying to fight my authority and voice his opinion once again, but the aura was too much for his little beta self to handle. He finally gave into it, agreeing to my command, “when should we leave alpha?” He spit out, still angered with my command.
“Tonight, before the full moon ritual.” I responded, turning away from my beta.
“But Alpha.” Beta Daniels started, earning a low growl from my wolf, “the warriors, and I, were all still mateless, having us leave tonight, it lessens are chances of finding our fated mate.”
“DID I NOT JUST TELL YOU TO NOT DEFY ME!” I growled out, my alpha aura shaking the walls in my office.
“My apologies Alpha,” Charles said, baring his throat to me. “I thought the priority was always to grow the pack, without our mates, the warriors and myself are useless in those regards.”
I lowered some of my alpha aura, my beta had a point but I still was angered that he dared defy me twice. The growth of the pack is unimportant right now. Our number one priority is making wolves the top of the food chain. We will be in charge of everyone. I will be king.”
“Yes alpha.” Beta Daniels responded, bowing his head slightly towards me, before exiting the room.
I quickly ripped of my clothes before bursting into my wolf form and diving out the window, my wolf Atticus finally taking control. As long as my plan goes through without any hiccups, by the end of the month, we will be king.
