Lucky System
“It’s a miracle that you were able to make it; for a minute, your heart stopped, and we thought we lost you; you scared me.” A middle-aged woman sobbed as Lily stared at her blankly, not knowing who she was or how to answer her. “How are you feeling? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere? Do you need me to get you anything?” She continued to ask, but Lily remained quiet, trying her best to make sense of what was happening.
“What is going on? Who are you?” she asked, which shocked both the doctor and the middle-aged woman. “It’s me, your mother; did you forget?” The middle-aged woman asked, looking from her daughter, whose body had been occupied by Victoria, to the doctor, “My mother?” Victoria replied calmly.
The middle-aged woman turned to the doctor with fresh tears and said, “Doctor, you have to check properly; why does my daughter not recognise me?”
The doctors soothed her while making preparations to conduct tests on Lily’s brain to check for any signs of amnesia. “It’s common for people who hit their head during an accident to have amnesia; we will check if it’s temporary or permanent, although our previous checkup showed that she doesn’t have any amnesia,” the doctor reported.
The more Victoria listened to them, the more confused she became; she couldn’t wrap her head around how poisoning became a head accident.
‘Why am I in the hospital?’ ‘Was someone able to save me in time?’ she pondered as the doctor checked her vitals. “Your daughter was able to survive by sheer luck; it’s a miracle, but now she is still weak and unable to do a lot of things, so you should be careful and not stimulate her a lot. Give her some time to rest,” the doctor instructed, and she left to prepare for the brain test.
Victoria closed her eyes, pretending to sleep, so she could communicate with the mechanical voice in her head, “What happened, and why am I here? Did you save me?” Although she wasn’t sure the voice would still be there, if it was, she knew it would be able to provide answers to her confusion.
{The host should relax and ask one question at a time. I am the lucky system at level 0. Since you bonded with me, I was able to transfer your soul into the body of a young lady, Lily Turner. You don’t have to worry; she willingly gave up her body for you in exchange for you taking care of her family and helping her fulfil her wish to be a successful fashion designer.} The system explained.
“You were the voice in my head when I was about to die?” she asked curiously. “And your name is Lucky System?”
{Yes, I am. I am a programmed system that has been created to help people fulfill their dying wishes. I noticed your strong will to live and your thirst for revenge and came to your aid.}
“Then what do you want in exchange for saving me?” Victoria asked sceptically. Having been in the business world for a long time, she naturally knew there were no free favours anywhere; everyone did things for their benefit. She’s even more guarded now that her family betrayed her and her late mother.
As she thought about the cause of her and her late mother’s deaths, rage bubbled within her once again, and she wished for her father, his wife, and their two children’s deaths.
{The hostess shouldn’t be in haste; you will have plenty of opportunities to take revenge on your enemies. As for what I want, through helping you, I will be able to level up and get more access to the information that my creator left behind for me while also ranking up amongst other systems.} The system explained calmly.
Victoria thought about the information and nodded, accepting that she was like a game character who levelled up through tasks, except it was the system levelling up in this case. “Then what would happen to the original owner of the body?” She asked curiously, knowing that a body couldn’t house two souls.
{The original soul had already left; she was plotted against by her classmates so that she wouldn’t join the national fashion competition as the school representative}
As the system explained itself, Victoria came to understand the whole situation. The name of her new identity is Lily Turner, a 21-year-old fashion college student who was top in her class and liked by her teachers. However, due to her humble and poor background, she was ostracised by her classmates, who were mostly from rich families. They saw her as a stain and as a person undeserving of being in their presence due to her social standing.
She was hated by all her classmates for her amazing talent and hard work, and she was constantly schemed against, to discredit her work in front of the teachers.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Her roommate, who also happened to be the young Miss of the family her father and mother worked for, couldn’t swallow her hatred after she learned that Lily had been chosen by the school to represent them on a national level against other fashion schools.
‘How could a country bumpkin and a poor good for nothing be chosen over them’ were the thoughts of her classmates after the list was released.
Merissa conspired against her with some of their other classmates to get her drunk, and afterwards, they pushed her off the dorm stairs. Although they didn’t intend for the injury to be much, Lily ended up in a life-threatening situation and she hit her head heavily on the iron pole by the stairs. She was quickly rushed to the school clinic, where they performed first aid, before being rushed to a bigger hospital for better treatment.
But she passed away, and that was how Victoria was able to occupy her body.
Victoria realised that the ragged, tired-looking woman sitting beside her bed was the mother of the owner of the body. She looked at the woman with pity and determination to avenge her dead daughter.
“Don’t worry, since you lent me your body, I will avenge you and fulfil your dreams beyond your imagination! You will not regret leaving your family in my care!” Victoria promised
