The Mafia Bride (Katrina and Silas)

Chapter 12

Silas POV

A knock on the door jolted me back to reality and I pushed away from her.

What am I doing? I wondered as I tried to clear the sinful thoughts that filled my mind.

This was the first time I was losing control around a woman, and God would it be the last.

I looked at Katrina, who looked up at me through her lashes. Her lips were parted slightly as she breathed heavily, her chest heaving

She seemed to still be in a daze but I knew it was merely a matter of time before she regretted what just happened.

Just like I did.

I was waiting for the shock to wear off so she'd look at me with disgust, but it never came.

Another knock came on the door, followed by the voice of my second in command, Phillip, calling out to me.

I had been in here for longer than expected. It was normal he was concerned.

But he shouldn't be concerned about me, he was more concerned about what we w

we were supposed to do today.

That was Katrina started, raising her fingers to touch her swollen lips. It took everything in my control not to claim her lips once more, and I took a step back, looking away from her as a form of distraction "Look, it would be best if you forget what just happened." I said coldly, effortlessly slipping my mask back on.

I had learnt to wear a mask to prevent people from knowing my true feelings.

Letting them believe you were the ckld heartless monster they shouldn't mess with was worth it.

I had allowed myself a moment of weakness around her, and I had to ensure that wouldn't happen anymore.

Katrina's eyes widened slightly as she stared at me in shock. She didn't seem to understand what I was saying, and I couldn't blame her.

I wouldn't kiss anyone that way and expect them to just forget it But this one had to be done.

"What do you mean forget it?" She hissed, her eyes blazing in anger.

⚫ fact that I

I couldn't quite understand why she was more upset about the fact I had told her to forget the kiss, than about the fact had kissed her in the first place

"I meant what I said. Forget this just happened. It's best for us both, I dragged my hand down my face as I let out a sigh.

I was waiting for my lower anatomy to calm down before I left this room; I wouldn't want to leave with a hard-on.

"Best for us both? Since when do you decide what's best for us both? Since you kidnapped me and forced me to get married to you? Or what?" Katrina spat and I winced Yes, I know I deserved that had gotten married to her so there was no way for me to divorce her yet.

And I wouldn't even want to divorce her until I got my revenge on Marcos.

This was merely a mistake, and we both know that. You hate me, and I hate you. I feel disgusted with myself for even

touching you,"

Every word I spat out made her face squeeze in pain, and for some reason, I wondered if I made the wrong decision.

Getting closer to me would bring nothing else but pain for us bath. I wasn't going to hurt her, but I couldn't try to get closer to her too.

I was going to do my best to end the lust I felt for her because it was nothing other than that.

Lust.

"Is that how it is huh? Katrina asked, nodding her head.

I didn't like the way she sounded, but I couldn't ask about it. Her eyes held so much fury that it worried me.

Since when did she care about me? She hated me up until earlier today, so when did this suddenly change? Was it because we kissed? Did she expect something more than that?

Shaking my head. I tried to clear off the thoughts I was getting. It wouldn't do me any good to think about her.

I already promised that once I got my revenge, I would return her to her normal life.

It was a change from my original plan of keeping her here and making life difficult for her.

If she planned on running her father's mafia after his death then so be it, because I planned to kill him.

Phillip banged on the door once again, this time louder.

"Silas? We need to head out." He called out

Raising my eyes to look at Katrina, I was just about to speak when I spotted the tears in the corner of her eyes.

My eyes widened slightly and I was barely able to form words.

Why was she crying?

I almost raised my fingers to reach for her but I stopped myself, leaving my arms by my side.

"Step aside," my tone was blank and for some reason. I hated using this tone with her. But it couldn't be helped.

I had no idea when she managed to get my attention, but it couldn't stay that way.

She was going to be a weakness to be if I allowed this to continue.

Without any other words, Katrina stepped away from the door, and I pulled it open.

Phillip looked between me and Katrina, taking a step back

We need to leave now," Philip said with urgency and I nodded. I knew just how important this mission was and I couldn't let it go wrong.

I was just about to walk away when I stopped in my tracks, turning my head to look at Katrina who still stood at a spot

"You're allowed to move freely around the house. Just make sure you don't step foot out of the house,"

Phillip's eyes widened in shock, and I turned away and walked off, not bothering to check her reaction.NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.

"What was that?" Phillipaskel, rushing to ineet up with me. I knew he was about to nag me for what I had just done, but T didn't care.

"What was what?" I repeated, acting like I didn't know what I had just done.

Phillip was twenty years my junior but he still ragged me like a wife. At thirty-five, the man could easily pass to be my younger brother, and I had taken him as one.

"Don't play dumb with me Silas. You know who her father is, and yet you give her the chance to roam around and walk amongst us like it was nothing?" He hissed, his fingers pointed in the direction we just came from. Every chance they got, and each of my men kept reminding meof who her father was like I couldn't see the resemblance

between them

"What's wrong with letting her walk around by herself? She's my wife isn't she?" I asked. The question was out of my lips before I realized what was happening and his eyes widened.

1 had just acknowledged that Katrina was my wife in front of someone else, something I had never done before.

"Did you get your head hit hard? Did she give you something? Don't tell me you are getting a soft spot for that woman?" Phillip shook his head as though he was talking to a child and 1 resisted the urge to roll my eyes. "It's nothing of that sort. Why would you even assume that?" I asked, my tone flat.

"It's not safe to leave her home with no one watching her. She needs to be locked all the time,"

He seemed to have forgotten how it felt like to be trapped in a room for days, but I wasn't going to remind him.

Shaking my head, I clapped his shoulders twice

"She wouldn't do anything crazy. I'm sure she learned her lesson the last time. Let's go."

Without giving him the chance to speak I turned around and left

I didn't even trust my own words when I said Katrina wasn't going to do anything.

Because despite what I told him, I knew that someone with the same blood as Marcos running through their veins shouldn't be trusted.
