She'd driven away in a red car on that day, leaving the newly freed Matthew behind. It all felt like a dream. Now, it was happening again, but the roles were reversed. Tessa grumbled, "Is this karma? Does that exist for real?"

The driver hesitated. She was beautiful even though her face was tear-streaked. She had obviously been crying. She was probably upset over a relationship.

Tessa tilted her chin up. "What would you know? From now on, I'm not the Tessa Sanders that I used to be. I don't care about my face or my body. I can rip out my heart if necessary. I will do whatever it takes to succeed. "You will be the first stepping stone in my journey. That is, unless you don't want to drive me there."

It then occurred to Tessa that the

"Just start the car. I'll show you the way."

Half an hour later, the car stopped outside the Evans residence. The driver stared at Tessa, desire growing in his gaze. He rubbed his hands together. "We're here now. You said you'd pay with your body. It's time to pay up."

He reached out to touch her. Just before he was about to touch her shoulder, he stopped. He looked at her in shock. "What... what do you want?"
