The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 230

Lorraine blinked and looked at Tracy curiously. "Hello, miss."

Tracy looked over and noticed Lorraine's pigtails. Upon hearing Lorraine's sweet voice, Tracy couldn't help but walk over with a smile. "You must be Lorraine. Matthew told me you're well-behaved." Seeing that Tracy was talking to Lorraine, Stanley pulled Matthew outside the house. "What's going on, Matt? You're engaged, so you owe it to Rachel to be faithful."

Matthew quickly realized there had been a misunderstanding. "She's a friend of Rachel and doesn't have a place to stay tonight. She'll crash at our place for the night, and I'm not close to her." Stanley wiped the sweat off his forehead. "You scared the hell out of me. I get that you've been in prison for so long without a woman, but don't do anything stupid, got it?"

Matthew was surprised by Stanley's words. Anyway, he'd already gotten what he wanted from Rachel earlier that day, so he wasn't going to have any wild ideas.

But Matthew couldn't possibly tell Stanley about that. He simply flashed Stanley a smile and said, "I have kids to think about, so I won't be doing anything crazy."

Upon learning that Matthew and Tracy hadn't eaten yet, Lillian quickly went to the kitchen and made some pasta. She also took the chicken and vegetables from the fridge and whipped up some meatballs and a salad. After serving the food on the dining table, Lillian called out to Matthew and Tracy to eat.

Seeing the dishes laid out on the table, Tracy was struck by an unexpected feeling. It was as if she were visiting as Matthew's girlfriend. The hospitality was amazing.

"Thank you for your hospitality and great food, Mrs. Grant."

Lillian cheerfully responded, "It's pretty late to buy groceries, so just make do with this. I'll get more ingredients tomorrow and make you something special." Tracy felt a little shy about troubling Lillian. "You're being too kind, Mrs. Grant."

Matthew joined them at the dining table and was thrilled by the sight of delicious food. "Thanks to you, Tracy, I get to have two side dishes as well! Lucky me!" As Matthew spoke, he grabbed a seat, picked up his cutleries, and started eating.

Feeling timid, Tracy followed suit and took a bite. An unprecedented wave of happiness washed over her. The food was amazing, unlike anything from a restaurant.

There was a flavor that was hard to put into words. It felt like the familial love she had always yearned for but never had.

Lillian advised them to take their time eating and started cleaning up the kitchen. Tracy glanced at Matthew, who was wolfing down his pasta. Out of nowhere, a strange thought came to her mind.

What if Matthew was Tracy's husband? They would return home after a long day and sit down together for dinner. The kid watched TV, and the grandparents were there with the kid.

That was the life she had been dreaming about for so long.

Tracy was bummed out that

Matthew was Rachel's fiancé. If he were with someone else and not married yet, she might have tried to win him over. But Rachel was Tracy's closest friend, the only bestie she had on this planet.

Seeing Lucy staring blankly at the food, Matthew comforted her. "You're safe here at my house. Just eat up."

Tracy snapped back to reality. "Okay. I'll eat right away."

When they were done eating, Tracy glanced at the living room and whispered to Matthew, "Where's your bathroom? I need a hot bath."

Matthew was amused to see Tracy

You get to sleep a little longer."

The next day, several unfamiliar cars drove into Silverbrook Village. That was unusual because cars typically head out of the village in the morning, so the cars entering the village seemed out of place.

These cars drove around the village for a while before pulling up near the Grant residence. After the cars came to a halt, nobody got out.
