The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 196

Ethan frowned upon hearing Haley's words. "Since everybody's choosing to go for modern medicine now, it must be the right choice. It's obvious that everyone agrees that modern medicine and science are the right way to go. "You were young and naive, so you didn't know the situation. Perhaps your illnesses would've gone on their own even without seeing traditional medicine practitioners! They're all quacks, anyway."

He paused, and then continued, "Setting that aside, I think this job is great for you. I got this opportunity for you from a friend, but if you're not interested, I'll tell him to seek out someone else."

Haley hurriedly sat on his lap and kissed his cheek. "I'll do it! You have to keep this job for me! I promise I'll get it done."

Ethan reached out to fondle her breasts. "I knew you would thank me for this. I was just trying to help you, wasn't I?" Things then got hot and heavy for a while before Haley left.

Ethan straightened his clothes and had a cup of tea before pulling out a chessboard to entertain himself. He'd just made his first move when his secretary said that Sheldon had arrived. Ethan hurriedly stood up to welcome Sheldon. He bowed his head politely to Sheldon and said, "You're an esteemed guest, Mr. Smith."

Sheldon was a little disgusted by this. Ethan looked polite and respectful, but Sheldon knew he would be terribly wrong to believe Ethan was genuine. Still, he smiled politely. "You're being far too polite, Mr. Durbin."

Ethan led Sheldon into his office and poured the latter a cup of tea. "My friend resented me because of what went wrong with the purchasing of the herbs, you know.

"Fortunately, he's a nice guy, so he only said a few things. I hope nothing goes wrong this time, or I won't be able to explain things to him."

Sheldon said seriously, "That's why I'm here actually. I hope you'll collect the herbs once I have a truck loaded. You can take it away in Ozenia Charity's name. Say that you're taking the herbs for charitable purposes." Ethan gave him a thumbs-up. "That's not a bad idea. Your intelligence always surprises me."

Sheldon sneered to himself. He'd grown sick of these fake compliments since he was in elementary school. He decided to bring up his true reason for being there. "Have you heard of Matthew Grant?"

Ethan coughed. "He sounds familiar, but I don't know him."

He'd actually just looked into Matthew and knew everything there was to know about him. He couldn't let Sheldon know that though.

Unfortunately for him, Sheldon saw right through him. He said, "Since you've heard of him, I just want to know one thing. Do you guys want to kill him?"

Ethan looked at him warily. "You...

you must have the wrong idea here. I only do charity. I've never thought about murdering my life. In fact, m only asking you to help with

purchasing these herbs because I'm helping a friend!" Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

Sheldon stood up. "Ask your friend whether he wants to kill Matthew or not then! If Matthew doesn't die, I can promise you he'll probably fait the herbs purchase this time too. I've already told you what I need to, so pass the message to your friend. I'm leaving!"

He turned and left without a care for the surprise in Ethan's eyes. Ethan didn't stand up to see Sheldon off. Instead, he shook his head while watching Sheldon leave.

"Sometimes, it's not good to be too smart. It'll only lead to certain death."

Matthew drove slowly on the way back to Wealthwave Group. Rachel's brows were tightly furrowed as she sat in the car. Her usually icy eyes were filled with curiosity as she looked at Matthew.

She parted her lips to speak a few times but didn't make a sound. Finally, his silence and her curiosity got the better of her. She asked, "What did you say to Terry in his lounge? Why did he suddenly agree not to pull out?"

Matthew looked excited at the mention of this. He pulled over by the side of the road and deliberately hooked her. "About that... it's best if you don't know anything about it. It's a matter between men."

This only made Rachel more curious. "What could it be? Why can't I know about it? Tell me!"

Matthew cleared his throat. "Well, it's like this. Did you see the woman in his office?"

She glared at him. The woman's chest had been bulging. Naturally, she'd noticed her. She didn't expect Matthew to suddenly bring her up though. "Yeah."

He smiled. "She's gorgeous and has

a good figure but has strong sexual desires. Terry had sex with her toox frequently and became something of an herb to her. She's become prettier and more youthful because she's sucked the nutrients out of him, leaving him with erectile dysfunction."
