The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike

Chapter 216

Chapter 216

The memory of Calvin tying her shoelaces the day before flashed in her mind. So… Was Jonathan jealous?

Was Jonathan actually jealous? Rosalie had never thought about it before. However, the mere thought of it did bring a tinge of sweetness to her heart.

The sun?

Amelia looked at the sky outside the window. It was cloudy today, and the sun was covered by the clouds.

“By the way, Aiden will be undergoing surgery soon. My mother and I will be at the hospital for a few days to take care of him, so I’ll be taking a few days off from the diner. But don’t worry, I’ll still pay you your wages. I will send you a message about your schedule.” said Amelia.

“Okay,” Rosalie replied. “Let me know when Aiden’s surgery is finished. I also want to hear the good news if the surgery goes well.”

“Okay,” Amelia said with a smile. Although closing the diner for a few days would affect business, her son’s hearing was the most important thing for her now.

After Aiden’s cochlear implant was installed, there would be many other things to deal with too. For example, they had to think about translating the sounds he heard into language, ensuring not just comprehension but also enabling him to speak.

However, she was ready to face those difficulties.

No matter how tough the journey, she was determined to ensure that Aiden, as much as possible, would be able to hear and speak like

any

normal child. This would ensure a less challenging life for him in the future.

In the afternoon, when the diner had fewer customers, Amelia went to the room behind the diner, where she saw Aiden had fallen asleep in Matilda’s arms.

Matilda was cautiously putting Aiden on the bed.

“Why did you come in?” Matilda asked.

“I want to see Aiden while I’m free,” Amelia said.

“You, watching him all day isn’t enough? Tomorrow, with Aiden getting admitted to the hospital, you’ll practically be watching over him the whole day. That should be enough.” Matilda smiled. Obviously, she was also looking forward to her grandson’s surgery the next day.

With affectionate eyes, Amelia gazed at her son. “I was the one who let him down. If I hadn’t mistakenly taken that medication back then, perhaps he wouldn’t have been deaf.”

“How can you blame yourself? It was all because of that wicked woman!” Matilda exclaimed with palpable anger.

“I was naive and couldn’t discern people’s motives,” Amelia said sadly. “Aiden… He was destined to be an amazing boy, but he is like this now all because of having me as his mother.”

Matilda looked at his daughter with sympathy, “What nonsense are you spouting? For Aiden to have you as a mother is his blessing. Now, let’s not dwell on these disheartening thoughts. Tomorrow is

the day of Aiden’s surgery. After it’s done, there’s a lot we’ll have to do!”

“Okay, no more disheartening talk!” Amelia lowered her head again and kissed his son’s tender face before returning to the diner at the front.

However, when she went back to the diner, she was taken aback when she saw an unexpected person sitting there.

However, when she went back to the diner, she was taken aback when she saw an unexpected person sitting there.

Calvin… He came to the diner again!

Amelia never thought that Calvin would appear in her diner again.

And this time, why was he here again?

Subconsciously, Amelia thought of the video she saw yesterday. She thought of Calvin’s attitude toward Rosalie, and the way he was looking at Rosalie….

So, did Calvin come here because of Rosalie? Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

As these thoughts raced through Amelia’s mind, Calvin’s subsequent question confirmed her suspicions.

“Where is Rosalie? Is she not in the diner?” Calvin asked.

“Rosalie… She’s out making a delivery. She’ll be back in a while,” Amelia replied.

Calvin didn’t ask anything more. He just ordered a cup of coffee in the diner, sat on the chair, and started drinking it slowly.

Calvin’s prominence was unquestionable as the eyes naturally gravitated towards him. It was not bustling in the diner, and not many people recognized this gentleman as the scion of the entertainment industry.

Yet, his demeanor, appearance, and palpable sense of aloofness unexpectedly drew many glances

Several customers couldn’t help but repeatedly glance at him.

Amelia herself was also struck by the sight. With Calvin sipping the diner’s coffee while sitting elegantly, the scene looked like an advertisement playing in front of her.

Even she herself felt that the coffee seemed even more premium with him drinking it.

Amelia was silently pondering when Rosalie would be back when she noticed a luxury car parked in the parking space in front of her diner again.

The reason why she thought “again” was that a Porsche was already parked in front of the diner.

Then, a tall figure came out from the newly arrived Bentley. Amelia’s eyes lit up immediately.

The man was dressed in a light gray suit and had refined facial features. His hair was swept back, revealing his beautiful forehead. Although his pale complexion hinted at youth, the composed demeanor he radiated seemed in contrast to the youthful face he bore.

As the man entered the diner, Amelia noted his most enchanting feature, which was a pair of eyes as clear and tranquil as still water. They bore an underlying coldness. However, when he raised his

eyes, they exuded an irresistible charm.

“Is this man… a star? Or someone else?” Amelia wondered.

Just as Amelia was about to ask the man for his order, she saw the man’s step pausing beside Calvin.

Two strikingly handsome men exchanged glances. After a while, the man pulled out the chair and sat at the same table as Calvin.

Amelia was puzzled. Did they know each other?

On reflection, it wouldn’t be odd if they did, as both men seemed cut from the same cloth.

“I didn’t expect to meet you here,” Jonathan said with a half-smile, his dark eyes seemed to be scrutinizing Calvin.

“Likewise,” Calvin replied.

At this moment, Amelia stepped forward and asked, “Sir, what would you like to order?”

“Whatever he’s having,” Jonathan said.

Therefore, Amelia made another cup of coffee and served it to Jonathan.

“Do

you also like coffee?” Calvin raised his eyebrows slightly.

Jonathan took a sip and said lightly, “Coffee can be the same, but people can’t.”

Calvin’s expression changed slightly. “People are indeed different from coffee. Coffee is dead, but people are alive.”

“Why? Do you regret your decision?” Jonathan said, “Planning to challenge me again?”
