Ray leaned towards Arya with an angry look “She’s done right? ask her to leave”

“It’s okay if you don’t want me here Arya.. I just thought of helping Kyle this one time”

“Mr Wales is an old friend of my dad.. so I had to meet up with him.. but when he learnt the reason I was there.. I was sent out of his company where I stood under the scorching heat for hours…

Vanessa paused her speech and raised her hand to her temple, she staggered back a bit..

Tim reached out and held her in place “Are you okay ma’am?”

She gently pulled Tim’s hold on her away from her shoulder and moved away from the dining table..

“I guess I’ll leave now” She announced..

“Close the door when you’re out Vanessa” Ray chirmed in, Arya placed her palm over his mouth..

Chad placed his stethoscope into his briefcase once he was done examining Vanessa..

Arya sat at the other end of the couch where Vanessa was laid on munching on a red apple..

She knew well enough what was going through Vanessa’s head and she wasn’t going to let that happen..

“Is she fine?” Kyle asked calmly..

Chad shook his head “She is dehydrated and she also needs a lot of rest.. perhaps she has been stressed a lot lately”

A fast paced footstep was heard and Mia appeared panting heavily, she ran towards Kyle and hid behind him..

“Kyle please reason with grandfather I don’t want to get married”

Almost immediately Ethan walked into the living room, his eyes fell on the lady on the couch..

“why is she here?”

Arya stood up to her feet and walked to the old man with a smile, she held his hand and led him to couch opposite Vanessa’s..

“Have your seat grand father and worry less about her, because I’m here to take extremely good care of her”

Ethan gave a small nod to her and his eyes rested on his grand daughter who was hiding behind her brother..

“Grand father.. it’s a bit too early why are you both here?”

“Mr Wales has concluded that he will sign the contract if Mia gets married to his son”

“Kyle please say something”

“Relax.. you won’t get married to anyone, the contract has been signed already”

Arya noticed Vanessa’s little movements, she smirked and sat beside her..

“Do you need anything Vanessa? I’m here to help you”

“How do you feel now Vanessa?” Kyle asked.

“Don’t worry about her Kyle.. I can take good care of her, you can go to the office and sort out some things.. here Vanessa drink up”

Arya raised the glass to Vanessa’s lips and pressed the glass against her lips hard..

Mia chuckled, her sister in-law was one of a kind, she touched Kyle’s arm..

“See? Arya has everything under control here.. you can go to the office”

Kyle nodded and left the room with his assistant and guards..

Ethan bade them goodbye and also left the living room..

Mia looked towards Chad with a small smile “And do you need a special invitation to leave?”

Chad corked a brow and picked up his briefcase ” Says the person who is scared to get married.. such a child” Chad mocked and hurried out of the room..

Vanessa knocked off the glass of water Arya was holding to her lips, she came down from the couch glaring down at Arya..

“You did that on purpose right?!”

Arya shrugged and stood up as well “I see you’ve gotten enough rest.. why don’t you leave?”

Mia took a seat in front of the two ladies, she loved where this drama was going..

“You’re such a fool.. I’ll be here till Kyle gets back, I saved his ass from a huge loss and do you think he’ll be harsh on me ever again?”

Arya smiled and straightened up Vanessa’s dress “I guess you did Vanessa.. you’ve showed how much you care for my family and I’m very grateful.. now for a hug”

She took two steps to Vanessa and was about to engulf Vanessa in an embrace but stopped midway..

“I’d have given you a tight warm hug except that you smell of male perfume and those hickeys on your neck showed how much time you spent under the scorching heat” Arya said with a smirk and almost immediately Vanessa’s eyes widened..

She raised her hand to her neck and tried to cover up the hickeys Arya was talking about..

“At least I helped him! what did you do for him? you were so selfish over a little restaurant that worth pennies.. what have you done so far that benefitted him in a way?!” Vanessa barked at Arya..

“No one asked for your help Vanessa! he is my husband not yours to worry about.. well you only proved to Kyle that you’re a good friend but the truth is we are married now..

Vanessa laughed out loud and pointed a finger at Arya..

“Married? the world doesn’t know that.. you’re only married to him on papers just for Ray’s sake.. you’re so pitiful Arya.. have you ever wondered what your fate will be once Charlotte returns back?”

Vanessa’s gaze rested on Mia who was engrossed in their conversation..

“Even your favorite people won’t have a say in it, you’ll end up like in tears and heartbreak.. as far as I know Ray also wanted to know who his biological mother was before he met you.. do you think he is satisfied deep down?”

Arya’s eyes blazed in unfathomable anger, a slap was sent to Vanessa’s face which sent her to her knees on the ground..

Arya shook her head slowly “you’re not in my league to compete with me.. take your pitiful self and leave immediately!”

“Mia why don’t you tell her about Charlotte’s strong spirit? I might not be in your league! but you’re definitely out of Charlotte’s league.. she will be back for Kyle”

“Well you lost and so as she.. she left such a beautiful family behind and now I’ve taken her place and there’s no one on earth that would make me leave behind my family”

Mia rose up to her feet applauding Arya..

“nice one Arya.. and as for you Vanessa get a man for yourself and stop lusting over my brother because he’ll never notice you”

Vanessa stood up from the ground “Bring it on you two I’m ready! I’ll get Kyle’s full attention before this week’s end”
