Chloe was alarmed by the look of horror on Arya’s face, she touched Arya’s shoulder, Arya who was in a daze snapped out of it..

“Something happened at the hospital”

“What happened?”

Arya took off to her heels totally ignoring Chloe’s question.

Elizabeth checked her golden wrist watch once more, it’s been almost an hour since she got here and that damned woman wasn’t anywhere in sight..

Mia sipped her juice box loudly which only pissed her mother off..Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

“Stop doing that!” Elizabeth scolded..

Mia rolled her eyes, she never wanted to come here but her mum forced her and now she was complaining?

“Oh mum please.. don’t vent your anger on me, I told you that this wouldn’t work, what were you expecting? she would work through that door and say ‘i’m here?’ ”

A light footstep approached the mother and daughter who were seated..

“I’m here”

Elizabeth stood up in anger “Are you that broke that you can’t afford a clock? it’s been almost an hour”

Rita scoffed and took the last seat of the three chairs available on the table..

She looked around the empty restaurant and returned her gaze back to Elizabeth..

“I see you reserved the whole place, my husband and I have been trying to book a table here for two months but we couldn’t, doesn’t that explain everything?”

Mia chuckled only to receive a glare from her mum..

She turned her back against them and started going through her phone..

Elizabeth took in a deep breath, this wasn’t why she called for this meeting..

“Look Rita, I’m sure you know that our company is about to face a huge loss”

Rita arched a brow and suddenly bursted out laughing..

“I don’t think this is funny in anyway Rita”

“Of course it is.. your beloved little son is the one handling the affairs of the company not me.. and did you just use the word ‘our company’?”

Elizabeth’s hands fisted under the table, how on earth did she ever think that something good will come out of this meeting?

“Don’t forget that your greedy husband is also responsible for this!” Elizabeth spat out and bit her tongue hard when she heard what she just said..

She took in a deep breath “Let’s just put aside our rivalry and work together to fix this”

Rita placed both of her hands on the table, she loved where this was going,..

“Fine! what did you want from me?”

Elizabeth bit her lower lip “The business partners wants Arya’s delight restaurant in exchange and I know you’re quite familiar with Mr Wales”

Rita smirked, bingo! just what she wanted to hear..

“Do you think I’m a fool? of course I already called him and he said he’s willing to change the terms if we do something in return”

Elizabeth’s mood lightened up immediately Rita spoke..

“Of course! we will do anything in return.. what did he ask for?”

Rita had a smile on her lips, she picked the glass of water on the table and raised it to her lips, her gaze landed briefly on Mia who was carried away from their conversation and laughing at a content on her phone..

Elizabeth’s brows rose in anticipation “Yes?”

“He wants Mia in exchange!”

Mia who wasn’t paying attention to their conversation turned back to them when she heard her name..

There was an awkward silence between them, she noticed the look on her mum’s face and was a bit curious on what it might be..

“Umm.. is everything alright?”

“Is he out of his mind?! how dare he cast his lustful gaze upon my daughter?” Elizabeth barked..

“Huh?” Mia murmured confusedly looking back and forth between the two.

“Relax beth, he wants an alliance between his son and Mia”

Elizabeth sighed in relief, meanwhile Mia was left in a daze, if her grandfather gets to know of this, he would agree to it without batting an eyelid..

“No way Aunt Rita! I won’t do it”

Elizabeth rose up to her feet and picked up her purse “You can order anything you want and eat to your heart’s content but we’re leaving.. come on Mia”

Mia obliged to her mum and stood up in an instance, she sent a mean look to Rita and stormed out of the restaurant..

Arya paced in front of her dad’s ward, a nurse came out hurriedly and before Arya could talk to her, she vanished from her sight..

Chloe touched Arya’s shoulder and led her to a seat..

“Come on Arya.. uncle will be fine, okay?”

Arya sniffed back her tears, she couldn’t imagine the worst at the moment..

“He was fine yesterday.. what could have gone wrong?”

Chloe patted Arya’s back gently, all she could do for now was to be a shoulder to cry on for Arya’s sake..

The door to the ward opened and a doctor stepped out, she recognized him to be the young man from yesterday..

“Mrs Anderson.. please come in”

Arya sprang up to her feet and hurried inside, Chloe who was about to go in was stopped by Chad..

“I’m very sure I said Mrs Anderson”

Chloe pointed a finger at him “Don’t try to irritate me, Arya is like a sister to me.. so practically I’m also Mr Carter’s daughter” She chirmed and pushed Chad aside before going into the ward..

He straightened his white coat and stepped back in..

Arya walked to his side to examine him closely, she touched his pale face gently..

“What could have happened to him?”

Chad shoved Chloe aside and walked to Arya “We found him without his oxygen mask, if I had arrived a minute later, he’d be dead by now”

Arya eyes widened in surprise and horror “What?”

Chad cleared his throat “Someone tried to kill him.. I think it’s better you report this to Kyle.. and I’ll try to add more security measures in the hospital to avoid this type of incident in the future”

Her phone vibrated, she frowned at the unknown number and move to a corner of the room..

Before she could say a word, a voice came through..

“I’m sure you must be in the hospital by now.. do you love the surprise?”

Arya’s brows drew together in confusion before it suddenly dawned on her..

“The next time we attack him.. I’ll make sure he dies, stop trying to get into my way!”

“I won’t spare you if I get my hands on you!” Arya lashed out..

Chloe and Chad exchanged brief glances and turned back to Arya who was agitated..

Arya stared down at her phone, disconnected?! she gritted her teeth in annoyance..

“Arya is everything alright?” Chloe’s worried tone came..

Arya inhaled deeply with a nod, she didn’t want to involve Chloe anymore in this mess or whoever this person was might come for her next..

“It’s just a.. nevermind”

Arya faced Chad with a small smile “Is it possible to arrange a few security men for him before Kyle’s men get here?”

“Sure! why not? I think it’s safer that way”

Arya turned back to her dad and planted a kiss on his forehead..

“Stay safe dad.. expect me tomorrow”

Chloe bade Arya good bye as her car sped off, she raised a hand over her face to block the sun’s radiating heat on her face..

“Gosh! what a day” She said with a sigh, she turned back to look at the hospital once more, she felt her head spinning looking at the height..
