Chapter 212
Chapter 212
In the limousine near the Morgan Building. A nanny and a bodyguard were seated next to Pierce, who was blonde and had curly hair. The three of them sat there with their hands on their knees as if they were schoolchildren. Uninvited guest Marco Seely stood opposite them. Except for Pierce, Marco was feared by all. Thus, the nanny and bodyguard, who would ordinarily provide Pierce with suggestions on how to impress Ivy, remained silent and endeavored to reduce their presence. Only Pierce had the courage to express his discontent. “Dad, please exit the car. This is my date with Pretty Lady. I don’t want a third wheel to cause us trouble!” Pierce pouted and sat with his hands on his waist, desperately attempting to make his aura appear more powerful. Marco was holding an iPad as he typed the final email before looking up at his son. His voice was soothing. “I’m free and have some business to discuss with Pretty Lady, so there’s no harm in my joining you two.” “Never!” Pierce’s brows were furrowed in extreme displeasure. ‘Even Daddy cannot interrupt my date with Pretty Lady.’ Marco hooked his lips together. “Pierce, if your father will leave, Wyatt Reed will find a way to disturb you. Would you like to meet him?” Pierce dipped his head with a sad expression. ‘Obviously not! I detest that Whiner Mister even more!’ Marco persuaded him in a solemn manner. “Let’s keep the family wealth in the family. We cannot allow outsiders to exploit us. If Daddy and Pretty Lady have a good relationship, does that not indicate that you and Pretty Lady also have a good relationship?” Pierce pondered while raising his head. ‘Hmm… What Daddy said is somewhat plausible. Daddy is my family, in contrast to Whiner Mister Wyatt Reed. But…’ The child looked at his father and said, “That’s all right, Daddy. I am capable of managing my relationship with Pretty Lady on my own. You don’t have to get involved!”
Marco’s smile became rigid. On the side, the nanny and bodyguard breathed a sigh of relief and looked out the window. ‘Fortunately, our young master is not easily duped!’ Pierce continued to belittle them. “Daddy, you must work hard to earn money so that Pretty Lady and I can rely on your inheritance in the future!” Marco’s face became dark and sullen as he glared at Pierce, attempting to control his anger. “Calm down... He is still a young boy. He grinned and gritted his teeth. “I will not give you my inheritance if you do not let me join you!” Pierce pondered this predicament incessantly, as it was a significant one. ‘For the sake of the inheritance, I must reluctantly accept this third wheel, father.’ Pierce glared spitefully at his father while he waited for Ivy to arrive at their car. “Pretty Lady!” As soon as Ivy opened the car door, the milky-scented Pierce pounced on her, preventing her from taking in her surroundings. She quickly grabbed him and pinched his cheek. “Our Pierce is becoming more attractive!” Pierce timidly retreated into Ivy’s arms. Marco observed this and coldly laughed. “Typically, he is not so shy.” ‘Huh! What a talented actor!’ Ivy was surprised to hear Marco’s voice and to see him. “Mister Seely?” Marco nodded slightly and smiled steadily and warmly. “Pierce invited me to dine with you. Do you mind, Ms. Morgan, if I join?” Pierce stared at his father without speaking. ‘Dad is full of lies! How does that constitute an invitation? I’ve just been threatened!’ Before Ivy could respond, Pierce hurriedly said, “Pretty Lady, if you don’t mind, we’ll just have him leave so no one can bother us.” His sparkling eyes were filled with anticipation as he pondered, ‘Please say yes!’ Ivy was unable to read Pierce's mind, so she responded, "Of course, I don't mind."
Pierce appeared disappointed, but upon seeing Simba, he regained his vigor and enthusiastically hugged Simba without letting go. They arrived promptly at the restaurant. Pierce did not rush to leave the car. Instead, he acted in a mysterious manner by asking Ivy and his father to enter first. The restaurant was relatively quiet. It appeared to have been offered out in advance. Marco was a gentleman and walked to the front of the hall to pull Ivy's chair out. There were candles on the table. It was a beautiful and ambiguous atmosphere. Pierce enthusiastically presented a shoebox-sized box and a large bouquet of white chrysanthemums several minutes later. Ivy, upon seeing the flowers, felt like fainting. Marco also did not anticipate that his son would bring funeral flowers. He froze for a moment and thought to himself that this child hid it exceptionally well. He appeared to regret joining us at this time. Initially, the two adults were anxious. Pierce ran over with his short little legs and lifted the bouquet of white chrysanthemums in a cheerful manner. "May you always remain as fresh and lovely as your favorite flowers!" Momentarily, the situation appeared somewhat peculiar. Marco attempted to pretend not to hear or see this scene by averting his gaze. 'This is not my child!' Ivy accepted the flowers with a smile after approximately two seconds of awkward silence so as not to dampen the child's enthusiasm and goodwill. " Thank you, Pierce. I adore it!" Ivy merely positioned it on the opposite side of the candle. The more distant, the better. She felt a headache approaching. Pierce eagerly extracted the shoebox-sized gift box and immediately opened it. "I gathered gemstones from all over the world and created this mosaic for you, Pretty Lady! It's very special!"
Ivy observed a gold photo frame that was opulent. The photo was an unposed snapshot of Ivy that was taken by the couple while traveling in France. Every square inch of the image was subdivided into different color modules and had a light-to-dark gradient. The mosaic was composed of various square-shaped gemstones of the same color and size. The angles created by the thickness's slight elevation glistened in the light. It was flashy, hip, and incisive. It was an old-fashioned method of displaying wealth. Ivy was knowledgeable about gemstones and understood that collecting and polishing so many natural stones of the same size was no simple task. This would also result in a substantial amount of residue material. She previously disallowed Pierce from giving her gold, so he began giving her gems instead. This photograph was without a doubt the most valuable image in the world! Pierce felt proud as he observed Ivy's stunned expression. "Pretty Lady, do you enjoy it so much that you're speechless?" Ivy's hand trembled subconsciously as she looked at the boy. This gift was too expensive for her to accept, but she did not know how to refuse it because it was her own photo. Marco coughed sideways. "Ms. Morgan, you can accept it without concern because it is the heart of Pierce. In comparison to his entire life, this is nothing." Pierce gave a solemn nod. "It's nothing, really!" After a few moments of silence, Ivy nodded and said, "T-Thank you, Pierce. I greatly appreciate this present." Ivy placed the photograph casually next to the bouquet. She felt for a moment that something was amiss. The nearby flowers, mosaic, and candle... She experienced a lump in the throat. Sensing Ivy's emotions, Simba jumped onto the table, swept the flowers to the floor with his tail, and then walked around making a mess. Pierce was irritated and dragged Simba to the ground by the neck. "Simba, you are a fake! Please
don't cause trouble here!" "I am a genuine tiger!"Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
