The Billionaire's Regret

Chapter 196

Chapter 196

Ivy subconsciously desired to assist Wyatt in holding up the IV fluid. His right hand’s needle was about to fall off. Blood was dripping from the wound. Wyatt’s face was pallid, and his thin lips were pressed together in a straight line. When he saw her, his eyes brightened for a brief moment. “Ivy, please come in.” He took a few steps back and sat down on the bed again. Ivy stood in the doorway and watched as Wyatt struggled to reattach the IV fluid, so she walked over to assist him. She lowered her gaze to him. “How are you feeling, Mr. Reed?” Wyatt smiled, his eyes flickering slightly. “It’s a lot better now. You didn’t get a cold, did you?” He averted his gaze. His face was pale, and his voice remained raspy. When Ivy looked at him, he had a sad expression. It was truly pitiful. “No.” Ivy’s heart shook slightly. She sat in the chair opposite the bed as if nothing had happened. Jimmy entered with a bowl of chicken soup and a heartfelt look at the frail Wyatt. “You must maintain your strength, Mr. Reed. Ms. Morgan is aware of what you did for her and has been moved to tears. She has been attempting to thank you for your assistance and is deeply impressed by your good intentions. It’s difficult not to fall for a man like you!” Ivy knitted her brows and cast a strange look at Jimmy. The gloominess that had previously prevailed was defeated in an instant. Jimmy winked at her for her to cooperate and care for the patient’s feelings. Ivy pressed her lips together. Her pupils were dilated. “I heard you removed the hot topics. Thanks.” “You’re very welcome.” Wyatt gave a light smile. Jimmy handed Ivy the bowl of soup and made an excuse to leave right away. Wyatt looked at the bowl and stretched out his trembling needled hand. Ivy smirked slightly. Wyatt appeared straightforward and calm, with a twinkle in his eyes. She looked at the ordinarily cold and indifferent man, who now appeared vulnerable and helpless.

Her heart began to soften all of a sudden. After all, he was only hurt as a result of her. She has no reason to be ungrateful. Ivy was holding the bowl for him. He could drink by himself because there was a spoon inside. This was already the most patience she had shown him. Wyatt gave her a calm look and held up his other hand. Its needle holes were clearly visible. His other hand was trembling as well. “I don’t have any stamina.” He’d been through a lot today. Ivy was deafeningly quiet for a few seconds. She reclaimed the bowl. Wyatt thought Ivy was about to feed him when he heard her shout towards the door. “Bill!” For a few seconds, the room was deafeningly quiet. Wyatt’s brow furrowed slightly. His lungs were congested. He was well aware of her intentions. No, it does not! He’d rather die of starvation! Bill appeared in front of them the next second. “Miss, what are your instructions?” Bill appeared as ferocious and cold as ever. He was a cold- blooded bodyguard. Ivy passed the bowl to him. “Please assist me in feeding Mr. Reed.” She said it without hesitation. Bill’s brow furrowed slightly. He was also hesitant, but since it was Ivy’s command, he had no choice but to comply. In any case, he’d instead Wyatt takes advantage of him than Ivy. “Indeed, Miss.” With such tenacity, he responded firmly and loudly. Wyatt’s face was dark and sullen as he grabbed the bowl, tilted his head, and drank it in one gulp without hesitation before he could reach Ivy’s seat. Wyatt’s eyes narrowed with cold intent. He appeared enraged. He yelled at Bill, “Get out!” Bill turned to face Ivy, who raised her brows and nodded. He then exited the building. Wyatt and Ivy were the only ones left in the room. The air was frosty. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

Naturally, Ivy didn’t notice Wyatt’s cold, stern eyes, which had a tinge of resentment that quickly dissipated. Everything appeared to be within Wyatt’s grasp, but he could not catch her. “Ivy…” His voice was raspy and trembling. Ivy came to a halt and looked at him. “Yes?” “What was the point of posting that photo?” Wyatt’s lips were drawn together in a straight line. His eyes were the color of ink. Huge emotional waves were hidden in those eyes. He was waiting for an answer but was terrified of it. Ivy pressed her lips together and flipped her hair back. Her grin widened. “It’s because he’s my new love...” Ivy intended to use this as an excuse to force Wyatt to abandon her. Wyatt’s face blanched for a split second. The agony in his eyes was palpable. He was heartbroken. He felt as if a massive rock was pressing down on his chest. It was oppressive. As he desperately tried to hide his sorrow and grief, the corners of his eyes turned bright red. His fists were clenched, but he lacked strength. He had no idea what else he could do. Ivy was free to do whatever she wanted. He was the one who granted her that liberty. He made his bed, so he must now lie in it. It was bitter and depressing. The silence in the room was deafening. “We’ll each have this day,” Ivy said lightheartedly to him. “Mr. Reed, there will be new people in each of our lives, so be mentally prepared.” ...Prepared to embrace this new life. Ivy then exited the room without saying anything else. She looked to the side as soon as she shut the door and saw her “new love” standing across from her. He appeared to have been standing there for quite some time. Then he must have just heard her words. Ivy’s expression shifted slightly. She was immediately filled with guilt. It was impossible to describe the delicate atmosphere that existed between them. Marco took the initiative to say something. His tone was soothing and welcoming. “I came to say my

goodbyes to Mr. Reed because I’m leaving early. I sorted. I’d wait here for a while since you’re inside.” Ivy tried to act as if nothing had happened, but it was too difficult. She bit her lower lip and smiled awkwardly at him. “I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. I deleted that photo, and what I just said is just a random excuse...” “It’s fine,” Marco said. “I’m delighted to help.” His tone was light, as opposed to his usual coldness. “Huh?” Ivy was taken aback and wondered if she had misheard. Marco smiled as he met her gaze. His nobility and modesty were enigmatic and deadly appealing. “I’d be delighted to assist you if this can get you out of an unwanted entanglement. After all, you are Pierce’s Pretty lady.” Marco implied that he didn’t mind being linked to Ivy in the scandal because she had saved Pierce’s life. Ivy was taken aback for a moment. She felt relieved when she heard this. Her slight skepticism dissipated. ‘It turns out he already knows why I did this.’ Ivy appeared more relaxed and chuckled. “Thank you for not blaming me.” “Of course not. If you need me, I can always join in on your act.” Marco’s solemn expression suggested that he was not joking.
