The Billionaire's Regret

Chapter 189

Chapter 189

Ivy was the center of attention wherever she went. Just like the first time Wyatt heard Ivy play the violin on stage in RST Bar. She was brilliant, passionate, and self-assured. It was as if she possessed all of the world’s beauty. Wyatt would never forget that moment. Ivy stood there silently, watching the water rippling. ‘Is this psychopath Wyatt attempting to ruin my good mood?!’ She reflected on herself. “I suddenly feel like giving you everything nice,” Wyatt said. ‘Is he finished?!’ Ivy abruptly turned around and frowned. Fireworks lit up the dark sky behind Wyatt as she opened her mouth. A beautiful cluster of purple and red sparks exploded in the sky. It was a breathtaking sight. The meteor shower fell into the Seine in an instant. Ivy was taken aback when she noticed the beautiful blooms in the river’s background lit up the night sky. Wyatt sat alone in his wheelchair, the fireworks in the background. He didn’t appear frail, though. Instead, he didn’t look back at the fireworks, focusing on Ivy’s enthralled expression. As he gazed at Ivy, his eyes softened and became covetous. “Do you like it?” Ivy drew a deep breath. “Is that you?” Setting off fireworks over the Seine was a difficult feat due to the numerous regulations that had to be followed. ‘How did he pull it off?’ Wyatt cracked a grin. A tall, cold figure approached them before he could say anything. Marco chuckled. “It’s King Louis XIII’s birthday, so everyone is celebrating. We are extremely fortunate to be able to witness this. Isn’t it a 3D projection that appears to be extremely realistic?” Ivy smiled as she turned around and looked at Marco. “Wow! Isn’t it a strange coincidence?” Marco nodded. “Yeah, there’s a celebration going on over there. Your father and Pierce crossed the border. Do youOriginal from NôvelDrama.Org.

want us to go take a look?” “Sure!” Ivy was interested in seeing what it was all about. She had assumed that everything had been planned by Wyatt and was relieved to learn that it had not been. Wyatt, how did you pull off such a cheesy and adorable surprise? He was only able to give money and jewelry! Marco stepped forward and took over when Ivy pushed Wyatt’s wheelchair. His voice was soft and soothing to her ears. “First and foremost, you go ahead. Your father is on the lookout for you. I’ll look after him.” Ivy was unconcerned and ran away happily. Similarly, Bill, following them, pursued Ivy, leaving Jimmy alone. Jimmy stood nearby, contemplating whether he should go over. Marco pushed Wyatt’s wheelchair. The two men remained silent. With the fireworks in the background, they seemed out of place. Both men were power brokers at the apex of the pyramid. Because of their industry experience, they were both quick-witted and astute. Even though they didn’t have much interaction, they were both very familiar with each other’s personalities. Wyatt exuded a suffocating chill. He brushed away a leaf that had fallen on his legs. “Mr. Seely, your purpose is no longer just cooperation, right?” he narrowed his eyes. His low voice conveyed a bleak coldness. Wyatt’s demeanor had changed dramatically since his time with Ivy. It was a side of him he didn’t want her to see. Marco was holding something in his pocket with one hand. His tall and well-built stature was commanding. His powerful aura rivaled Wyatt’s. He raised an eyebrow and met Wyatt’s probing gaze with a smirk. “Are you upset that Pierce came along or that I came with Pierce, Mr. Reed?” Marco did not directly respond to Wyatt’s question, but the implication was clear.

There was no need to deny it because he came prepared. Wyatt’s pupils constricted with a dangerous sharpness. His hollow, cold, and dark hawk-like eyes were sunken, cold, and dark. “Would you like to compete against me?” The atmosphere between the two men appeared to be frozen at that moment. Marco displayed no aggression and appeared indifferent, with a faint smile. “So, what if I am?” Wyatt couldn’t control his rage because the thought of his possessions being desired by others irritated him. Marco was both powerful and enigmatic. Wyatt’s business, on the other hand, was massive. They were both equal in terms of strength. Wyatt soon regained his composure. Anger was simply resentment expressed by the weak, and he was not yet defeated. In the dim light, his face was sunken. The fireworks bloomed in front of them, intermittently lighting up the sky, casting a shadow on his glum face as he glared at Marco. “You’re too conceited, Mr. Seely.” Why would Ivy change Marco’s mind when he has a child and such strong feelings for his late wife? Wyatt was certain that Ivy would not enter into another relationship. “I’m not,” Marco said calmly, his face expressionless. He exuded confidence. Wyatt shifted his gaze to the side, casting a cold glance at Jimmy. Jimmy responded immediately and went over. After a few seconds, he was panting. “Mr. Reed, you have to seize this opportunity to be with Ms. Morgan under the beautiful moonlight,” he said deliberately, looking at Marco, whose eyes were clear and cold. “You two should be inseparable because you love each other.” Jimmy pushed Wyatt’s wheelchair away from Marco. Marco stood there, watching them walk away. He chuckled and silently shifted his gaze in a particular direction.

Leo appeared to be overjoyed. It was unusual for him to be enjoying such a leisurely and lively moment with his beloved daughter by his side. This was the best time of my life. Ivy reasoned that since she was already in France, she would meet up with some old classmates, especially since she had no work plans. She scheduled a meeting with them for tomorrow night. Jimmy reminded Wyatt as he pushed his wheelchair. “Mr. Reed, I believe Mr. Seely is interested in Ms. Morgan.” It’s all because Ms. Morgan is so exceptional. You can’t relax your guard because I believe their relationship is far superior to yours.” Wyatt’s expression was gloomy and sullen. He was about to agree with Jimmy, but he couldn't say anything when he heard the last sentence. Jimmy noticed Wyatt’s dissatisfaction and consoled him. “But… Ms. Morgan isn’t interested in him, in my opinion. Despite his wealth, he already has a large child from his previous marriage. It will be difficult to divide his inheritance if he dies. The problems of the wealthy are far too complicated!” Wyatt’s expression softened slightly. “But,” Jimmy continued. “I believe Ms. Morgan adores his child. What if she’s okay with being a stepmother?” Wyatt’s expression was solemn. His knuckles were white from gripping the armrest so tightly. “If that day comes, I’ll toss you into the Seine! You’d better come up with something!” Why else would Wyatt put up with Jimmy’s constant chatter for so long? Jimmy had only been hired to assist him with Ivy. Wyatt would not show him mercy if he couldn’t devise a solution. Jimmy shivered as a result of the sudden chill. He quickly closed his mouth.
