MISTAKE 8
Chapter 8: Staying the Night.
Daniel had never thought of killing Anya. He only wanted to deceive her into coming home to live with him. He wanted to use the excuse of watching her to have her move into his home. “Not yet,” he said and she nodded. I walked right past him out of his office.
She paused at the door and looked back at him, “There is no need for you to call me over to discuss the divorce anymore. Anything we need to talk about, we can do it through our lawyers. when you have decided what to do with me, let me know,” she said and left him standing there.
Her character brought a wide smile to his face; her back looked straight and her voice sounded slightly shaken but strong, but he could almost hear her heartbeat racing in fear.
He seemed to have finally found that thing about her that completely excited him. Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
As Anya walked away, her legs wobbled, threatening to drop her to the floor. But, she was determined to get into the elevator and leave that floor. She knew very little about him, she was not sure if he would change his mind and come after her.
While Daniel was still undecided, she intended to leave quickly.
The elevator opened shortly after she pressed the button, and she dashed in. Before the door could close a hand interrupted it out of nowhere. Her heart leaped to her throat at the sight of the
person on the other side.
“I will take you home,” he said.
“There is no need,” she said. All the… on her skin rose sharply at his words. She would be actually stupid if she let him take her home.
“You have already seen what you should not have. Do you actually think I am letting you out of my sight?” he asked and she bit her lips and looked down at her feet.
“I insist,” he said.
The elevator went all the way to the basement parking lot and they got out. Anya suddenly recalled how she had been tossed into the sea over a week ago. Even though the underground parking lot was bright, she could not reduce the severe fear he was feeling right now. Anya tried to remind herself that this was the man she had chosen to marry, but it did not help. She only felt more regretful. What if he does something to her on her way home? What if she never gets home?
She followed him up to his car and hesitated before getting in.
At first the drive was silent, until he reminded her she had yet to tell him where she lived.
“Or would you prefer I take you back home with me?” he asked and she began to shake all over

again. Her mind raced. Was there any way she could get out of this? She wondered.
Daniel only made a casual statement, but when he glanced at her seated next to him and saw her completely petrified.
“For God’s sake, I won’t kill you. Calm down,” he said in frustration. He was not sure what he wanted from her. He was obviously excited by her fear, yet bothered by it. She had been too headstrong these past few days, he wanted to put her in her place. But seeing her fear did not sit right with him.
“A person like you believes in God?” she blurted and his cold gaze swept over her.
“Your mouth is so fast, your brain can not keep up, can it?” he said.
“I’m sorry,” Anya lowered her head. She wanted to slap herself. Was she not already in enough trouble? She did not know why she had said it. She regretted it the moment those words left her mouth. Was she really not afraid of death?
“I won’t kill you? At least not to keep my secret, he said.
“Really?” she asked.
“Really,” he said, and even if she did not believe him, Anya found herself breaking into tears, She was not sure if she was relieved. Her tears came out of nowhere, making him frustrated and panicked at the same time.
“As long as you do as I say and stay within my sight, nothing would happen,” Daniel tried finding words to convince her, but her cries only got louder.
“How am I supposed to believe you? What kind of husband threatens his wife?” she cried even harder. Daniel had said so many words, yet, no matter how much he said, her tears came down like rain.
He was so frustrated that he got out of the car, slamming the door shut and stood outside to calm his nerves. After a while, he heard her crying stop and got back into the car.
He was uncomfortable, he dared not look her way for fear that he would see her wooden form again.
It was a long silent ride, but soon, his car stopped in front of her apartment building. He found somewhere to park before getting out.
She nervously came out after him and thanked him in a small voice before starting to walk inside. It did not take long for her to notice that he was following her. She turned around to find him trailing behind her and she paused.
Thank you, and goodnight,” she told him, hoping he would go back.
“You will not show me up?” he said, “Or do you not want me to come in?” he asked and she hurriedly led him inside.

the flight of stairs in silence. When they arrived at her door, Anya fumbled
“Relax,” he said to her nervous form now trying to open the door. She wanted to respond, but held back. Relax? You don’t say that to someone after you have threatened their life.
But after thinking it through, she was too angry to care about his feelings.
“How does someone relax after being threatened?” she muttered, still unable to say it out loud but he still heard her clearly.
She entered the apartment and he closed the door behind them. Daniel looked around the room. There was barely a place to stand. It was a small studio apartment. He could not understand why she had insisted on living here instead of the mansion he had left for her.
“It’s small,” he commented,
“I am sorry, then,” she answered sarcastically under her breath, but he still heard her.
Daniel went ahead and sat on the couch and looked back at her. As though waiting for the verdict from a Judge, she stood there and waited for him to speak
“Go clean up and get ready for bed,” he said and she was petrified.
“What?” Anya asked. She could not understand the words that came out of his mouth. If he was anyone else, she would have misunderstood those words in a different direction, but because he was Daniel, the man who did not love her, she could not understand what was
going on.
“Do you intend to sleep like that?” Daniel asked.
“You are just going to sit here?” she asked.
‘Act as though I am not here,” he said and she was at a loss for words. Daniel did not know why he did not want to leave. After all, he was just tricking her. After tonight, he panned to have her pack up and move back into the mansion
What’s going on? He too was completely confused. But he was more frustrated instead. He did. not want to leave tonight.
Sitting in her apartment so close to her bed, he could somewhat smell her the perfume she usually uses.
The entire apartment smelled like her, Jasmine. He wondered when he had begun to notice
this.
“You can’t stay here,” she insisted.
“Why?” he asked. Her flustered state excited him greatly.
“What do you mean by why? This is my house, you want to stay here while I bathe and go to

“You are my wife,” he said and she seemed to have lost her soul.
