The Billionaire’s Games (The Billionaire’s Obsession 2)

Chapter 30-Innocent Crush(2)

It was odd, but I was actually nervous about meeting Priscilla. I knew for a fact that she was everything to Evan. If the girl didn’t like me I had a feeling things would become strained between Evan and I. I promised myself to be patient and let things flow naturally, but occasionally my mind did wander to wedding bells and white dresses. Priscilla needed to at least get along with me. I had to keep my thoughts to myself and let Evan figure things out on his own, only being there for him and giving him support when he needed it. Pushing through the door, I closed it behind me and entered the living room. I was greeted by the sight of Evan sitting on the couch with a petite blonde girl at his side, quietly talking to him about the cities she visited. She was dressed smart, looking like she was going to the office and attend some board meetings. Brother and sister glanced at me when they noticed they weren’t alone anymore, Evan pushed himself off the couch and stepped to me, pressing a kiss to my cheek.

“You okay?”

I smiled at him, “Yes.” My eyes trailed to the blonde girl who was eying me up and down, “Hey, I’m Zoey, nice to finally meet you.” I told her, stepping away from my boyfriend to extend my hand to his little sister.

Priscilla shook my hand and smiled, “Nice to meet you too.” She told me quietly.

Returning her smile I turned to look at Evan, “I thought Nick was going to stay?”

“He had to return home to Emily.” He told me.

Something about his look didn’t sit well with me. He never got that look in his eyes whenever he talked about Nick. It was dark and closed off, telling everyone around him to back off. I didn’t ask him about it though, we’d talk about that privately.

“How was your flight?” I asked Priscilla, taking a seat beside her.

“Tiring.” She admitted, “I’m glad I’m home.”

“I can imagine.” I told her, my eyes trailing back to Evan who was still standing, “What are we going to do about dinner?” I asked him and then shifted my gaze to his sister, “Do you want to eat in or out?”

“In.” She told me quickly, “I feel like staying in and catch up with you guys.”

She wasn’t writing me off yet, she wanted to get to know me before she formed her opinion. That was good, it meant that we might actually get along.

“I’ll leave you two to it and order us dinner,” Evan told us, reaching for his phone and leaving the room.

He was giving me time alone with his sister to get to know her. He probably knew we weren’t going to have an open conversation with him present. As always he was very thoughtful.

“How did you and Evan met?” Priscilla asked me curiously.

She didn’t say more but I could tell by the look in her eyes that she was genuinely curious about it, probably wondering why I was different from the other girls he slept with before. He probably never introduced them to her either.

“We met through Nick a few years back. We were merely acquaintances, sometimes going to the same parties together with Nick.”

“Really?” Her voice sounded more lively, “Then what changed, what made you two decide to start dating?”NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

“Evan who kept insisting that we would work together and I do have to admit that I always felt something more for him than friendship.” I smiled as I remembered how Nick outed us, making us face reality because we were both too stubborn to make the first move, “I’m glad we took that step though, we actually do work well together.”

“Evan sounded genuinely happy when he mentioned you to me.”

“Evan talked about me?”

Priscilla chuckled, “Of course he did. You are his girlfriend and you do have a key to his apartment. That says enough doesn’t it?”

I suppose it did say enough. You wouldn’t give away a key to some random girl you weren’t serious about.

“Are you settled in?”

“Yeah, I’m staying in the guest room for a few weeks.” Priscilla told me and then glanced up, grinning at Evan who sauntered in, “But I promise you won’t even notice I’m here. You two don’t have to mind my presence.”

I smiled at her, she was cute, not wanting to be in her brother’s way.

“Don’t worry about that, you should let your presence known.” I told her, “Spend some time with Evan and catch up. I bet you have some awesome stories to tell him.” I then focused on my boyfriend, “You ordered in?”

“Dinner will arrive in forty minutes.” He stepped to his sister and placed his hand on her head, “You can go freshen up.”

She got up and wrapped her arms around his waist, giving him a hug. When he kissed her head she released him, flashed me a smile and walked out of the room. Once she was out of sight Evan took a seat beside me and pulled me to his side, holding me while he closed his eyes and let out a tired sigh.

“My sister had a crush on Nick.” He muttered tiredly, “How didn’t I see that before?”

I couldn’t help but to grin, “Isn’t that normal?” I asked, which made him tighten his grip around me, “You know, developing an innocent crush on your brother’s best friend because you think he is more mature than the boys around you.”

“I must have been blind then.”

“Or she was good at hiding it.”

“She thought I knew because she mentioned it in the car. It made things awkward for all of us.” He told me quietly, “I know she was only joking about it, wanting to tease Nick a bit. But I got upset and behaved like a girl, giving him the cold shoulder and ignoring him.”

I slapped his shoulder, laughing at his insult. I knew it was true though, girls could become cold and distant when their feelings were hurt.

“Nick knows you’re not going to stay away from him forever. He knows you need time to process things.”

“Priscilla is no different from all the other girls, falling in love with her brother’s best friend.” He sounded upset again, looking like a pouty little toddler, “I’m just glad Nick never gave her an in. Can you imagine how fucked up things would be right now?”

Seeing how upset Evan was about something which wasn’t even an issue, I could definitely imagine things being messed up if something did happen between Nick and his sister. Priscilla joking about her crush told me she was long over it.

“Nick would never go there. You’re too important to him.”

Evan nodded, “I know.”

I patted him gently on the chest and then pulled away, getting to my feet, “I’ll grab us something to drink. I’m thinking white wine or do you want something stronger?”‘

“I’ll have whatever you’re having.”

Smiling I walked away, “Things will be okay, Evan. It sounds like your sister is a lovely girl. I promise you that it will all work out.”

While getting us a glass of wine I tried to get rid of my smile. I had nothing to worry about when it came to Priscilla. Evan wasn’t pulling away from me either. It made me dare to think about wedding bells and white dresses.
