Chapter 15 First Aid
When Mia called, Alexander was deep in a business meeting. He glanced at his phone and motioned for James to take the call outside.
As soon as James answered, Mia was in tears. "Uncle, help! Allison's in bad shape!"
James, hearing this, rushed back into the room and handed the phone to Alexander.
Alexander frowned, hearing Mia's sobs. "What's going on?" he asked.
"Uncle, please help! Allison's really hurt!" Mia cried.
Alexander's face turned cold. Allison got hurt at school? He stood up abruptly. "I need to go to the hospital. Handle this," he told James, then walked out.
"Sorry, Mr. Vaughn, Mr. Carter has a family emergency. I'll be handling the negotiations from here," James said, taking over.
It was only when the ambulance arrived at the school that the teachers realized something serious had happened. Seeing Allison's condition, Magnus's legs shook. "Allison, are you okay?" Allison opened her eyes and looked at Magnus. "It's okay. Please don't tell my grandpa."
Magnus nodded, feeling troubled. What a brave girl!
In the ambulance, Mia was still panicking. Allison, despite her pain, held Mia's hand. "I'm fine. Don't worry."
Mia started crying again. She'd never been through anything like this. "Allison, give me your folks' numbers. I need to call them."
Allison tightened her grip on Mia's hand and smiled weakly. "I don't have any family."
Alexander drove straight to the hospital. He found Mia trembling on a bench outside the emergency room, staring at the door with fear in her eyes.
He quickly went over and put a hand on her shoulder. "Mia, are you okay?"novelbin
Mia looked a mess, her hair disheveled, and her clothes dirty. Alexander noticed small burn holes on her uniform. His gaze turned intense.
"Uncle, you're finally made it. To save me, Allison got acid splashed on her arm," Mia explained.
Alexander's heart surged with anger. "Tell me exactly what happened," he demanded.
Mia nodded and recounted the events. Alexander then picked up his phone. "Find a girl named Sophia from Willowbrook High School," he ordered. Next, he made another call. "Get the top expert in acid burns to Serenity Health Center within two hours!"
Turning back to Mia, he said, "I'll have James take you home. I'll handle this. Allison will be fine."
Mia shook her head. "No, I want to stay with Allison. Uncle, you don't know how pitiful she is. She said she has no family. Is it true? Is Allison an orphan?"
An orphan? Alexander's eyes darkened. Since returning to Skycrest, he'd looked into the Bennett Family and learned a lot about Allison.
But the rumors about her were nothing like the Allison he knew. Abortion, fighting, hanging out with delinquents-these labels didn't fit the Allison he saw.
To him, she was calm and kind, not a troublemaker. Otherwise, she wouldn't have hesitated to save him that day. Alexander knew Allison always stayed out of trouble, yet she still saved Mia when it mattered most.
"The patient needs emergency surgery. She has severe acid burns, and her condition is critical!" A nurse rushed out of the emergency room, handing Alexander a consent form. The man who usually handled billion-dollar deals with ease found his hand trembling.
Mia looked at Alexander, worried. "But we're not Allison's family. What do we do?"
Alexander took a deep breath and faced the nurse. "I'm Alexander Cater, CEO of the Carter Group. Allison is my niece's friend. Her family can't make it right now, so I'll sign."
The nurse was taken aback. The CEO of the Carter Group! She never expected to see Alexander here.
"Mr. Carter, the patient's injuries are severe. She'll need to stay in the hospital for further treatment. Please notify her family as soon as possible," the nurse said before taking the consent form back to the emergency room.
Soon, Allison was moved to the operating room. Though her clothes had protected her from extensive burns, the injuries were deep enough to expose bone. The surgery was complex and took a long time.
During this time, the school authorities arrived at the hospital. Seeing Alexander waiting outside the operating room, they didn't dare make a sound.
"Mr. Carter, we've caught the person!" James hurried over. The person he referred to was, of course, Sophia.
Knowing what had happened, James was shocked.

Alexander asked, "Did you find out why she hurt Allison?"
James nodded. "Sophia thought Ms. Bennett was seducing her boyfriend, Everett Stevens, from Stevens Family. She was angry and went to confront Ms. Bennett. Another girl brought the acid to scare Ms. Bennett." Sophia never intended to splash acid on Allison. After being pushed by Allison, she acted in a fit of rage. After the incident, Sophia got scared and hid, but she was soon found.
Alexander pressed on, "Why was she so sure Allison was seducing her boyfriend?"
James explained, "Someone showed her a photo of Ms. Bennett talking to Everett at the school gate."
Alexander's face turned icy. "Who?"
James took a deep breath. "It was Yasmin, Ms. Bennett's biological sister!"
"Break one of Sophia's arms. Whichever arm she hurt Allison with, break that one! Send her directly to the police station and handle it according to the law. As for the Stevens Family, we'll deal with them after Allison wakes up!" Alexander ordered.
James nodded, and soon Sophia was sent to the police station. However, with a shattered arm, she was also rushed to the hospital.
Magnus was still hesitating about whether to inform the Bennett Family when Alexander warned him.
"Don't notify the Bennett Family. I've heard that only Mr. Hayden Bennett cares about her. I'll inform him later. Given such a serious incident at school, you'd better stay there to thoroughly investigate and punish those involved!" Magnus nodded and left with a group of people. Willowbrook High School conducted a thorough investigation because of Allison's incident, and naturally, Yasmin was questioned.
She adamantly denied knowing about the incident. Learning that Allison was splashed with acid, she felt a twisted sense of satisfaction but kept it to herself. The best outcome would be if no one knew, and Allison died outside.
