Chapter 370
In the vice president’s office of Yancey Bank, Claude sat at his desk, watching as Sophie entered.
“What’s going on. Soof?” He looked calm.
Sophie asked, “Have you not seen the news?”
Of course, he had. A newspaper lay on his desk, but his expression hardened at her words. “I have.”
Sophie replied, “Do you have feelings for her?”
Claude placed his hands on the desk, his demeanor gentle yet firm. “This is none of your business, Soof.”
Sophie knew that Claude would haven’t paid so much attention to Olivia if he didn’t have feelings for her.
She recalled how differently he treated Olivia from their first meeting.
She had even hoped they might end up together, until Olivia’s sudden marriage to Tyler dashed those hopes. But now?
Sophie’s worry deepened due to Olivia’s ambiguous relationship with her cousin.
“Why was she captured then?”
The rest of them were there too.
Claude thought about that too, so he said, “I’m looking into it.”

“Why would you think I did this?”
“Only Olivia’s face was in the picture and not yours.”
Claude’s hands remained on the desk, contemplating the coincidence. Both he and Olivia were captured
in the picture, but his face was blurred out.
People might speculate that Claude was coercing Olivia, but only he knew it was a distraction,
orchestrated by someone cleverly protecting themselves.
Considering this, Claude raised his brows thoughtfully. After a moment, he withdrew his hands and said,
I’m trying to determine how this happened. Go home for now.”
“But I can’t get in touch with Olivia. Is this affecting you and Olivia?”
Though Claude’s face was blurred, those familiar with them could likely guess his identity, especially the Harrises.
If they knew, Tyler would be the first to find out, and Sophie dreaded what might follow.
“I’ll get in touch with her. Don’t worry.”
Claude picked up the coffee cup and took a whiff of the aroma.

A knock interrupted them, and Sophie turned to see Jacob Reeves at the door. “Sophie, stop pestering your cousin.”
Jacob had been there when Sophie left home, and now he had come after her.
Sophie stood, meeting Jacob’s gaze. After a tense silence, Claude addressed Jacob. “Take her home.”
Jacob would follow all of Claude’s requests, so he said, “Yes, sir.”
He then entered the office and grabbed Sophie’s arm. She couldn’t do anything but just follow him out of
the office.
