The Alpha's Daughter

Chapter 6

Chapter 6

I woke up the thoughts of yesterday clouding my thoughts but I wasn’t complaining.

I was actually smiling for once waking up in a great mood.

I have never had so much fun and who would have thought it would be with someone I thought didn't

even know I existed.

I sighed standing up to stretch a bit deciding to get ready for today.

I noticed it was around 10 so that meant everyone was probably downstairs at breakfast.

I hummed quietly heading to the bathroom to take a shower.

I reached my hand out for where the knob used to be let me repeat used to.

I was startled by the girl who was now in front of me.

She ran into me almost falling causing me to have to catch her.

I looked down at the girl and finally realized that it was actually Roxanne.

I felt my face start to heat up as I looked down at a blushing Roxy with only a towel on.

I didn't know what to do. I was frozen completely oblivious to the fact I should probably stand her

upright.

“Sorry for almost barging in” I said looking away feeling worried at her reply.

“It's okay I shouldn't have flown out of the bathroom without checking to make sure it’s safe” She said.

I awkwardly helped her stand upright and stepped out of the way to let her pass.

She nudged by walking away quickly. There goes my good start to the day.

I took a shower and everything else I needed to do before exiting the bathroom.

I headed downstairs to see the kitchen was empty except for one person.

Roxanne was sitting at the table now dressed. She was eating a bowl of cereal trying to complete the

activities on the back.

I walked by silently grabbing a muffin from the counter.

I sat at my usual spot at the table and Roxy glanced up at me.

She stood up and sat in the seat positioned in front of me.

I looked down at my muffin like it was the most interesting thing in the world.

“You know you don't always have to be shy around me; this isn’t the first time we’ve spent time alone

together” Roxy said causing me to glance up at her.

“Like yesterday you were a totally different person I feel like it was the real you” She said and I sighed.

“It's a long story I promise to tell you about it just not now okay” I said and she nodded.

My past isn't something you would just casually talk about over the dinner table.

“I'm sorry for asking, I was just wondering” She said and I nodded.

“It's okay I understand your right about what you said” I sighed glancing at her slightly disappointed

expression.

We sat there in a silence that even I had to admit was quite suffocating.

“So what did you do with all those stuffed animals we won” I tried to help lighten up the mood.

She smiled and laughed a little “They're all stuffed onto my bed they are now my own little hostages”

She said and I joined in on her laughter.

We were laughing uncontrollably until Brayden walked into the room causing us to fall silent.

His black hair was a bit messier than usual and his eyes were a little less alive. It seems like he hasn't

gotten any sleep recently.

“Are you alright?” I asked, looking at him worried. We may not be friends and he may have treated me

like shit but I couldn’t help but care about his situation.

“I'm fine, just tired” He yawned, heading to fix him a cup of coffee.

This was the first time we've ever talked without him threatening me.

Something was off I could tell but what was it. Has the situation between him and his sister gotten that

bad? Did he finally realize Roxy didn’t want him?

Roxy and I silently watched him as he stammered along out of the kitchen.

“What do you think is wrong with him?” I asked and she shrugged.

“Probably went to a party last night” She said and I just nodded trying not to worry myself too much.

I mean even if he would have gone to a party he still wouldn't have acknowledged me sober or drunk.

We both finished eating and tidying up the area we were sitting at.

Today I didn't have any chores because everyone was given a one day break and today was mine.

Yesterday I had to clean up the bathroom.

“Do you want to watch a movie with me?” Roxy said snapping me out my thoughts causing me to

glance at her.

“Um sure” I said and she placed her bowl in the sink, grabbing my arm and dragging me up the stairs.

She led me to her room and I felt my face start to heat up a little.

“We're watching it in her” I asked and she smiled a look of pure amusement on her face.

“Yes it's just a movie it's okay I don't bite…well sometimes" She said winking at me and I felt my face

heat up even more.

She opened the door to her room and my eyes darted to her bed instantly.

I smiled a little at her bed that was completely covered in stuffed animals.

She motioned for me to join her on the bed as she pressed play on a movie.

I cautiously sat on the bed reading the title screen. Apparently we were watching The Glitch.

“Isn't this movie a little old, don't they have a newer one” I asked and she nodded.

“They do but I like the older one better. It's scarier than the second and third one I didn't even scream

watching the third one" She said and I chuckled as she held a pillow to her chest. Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

“They try too hard to make movie's scary nowadays,” I said, laying back gently on the bed to get more

comfortable.

She reached over to switch off the lamps on each of her nightstands. A good hour into the movie we

were both scared grabbing onto the stuffed animals for dear life.

I haven't really seen the whole movie because I kept covering my face or Roxy would randomly throw

something out of fear into my face temporarily blinding me.

The people looked like they were glitching the way their heads were moving back and forth

sporadically.

I haven't been this scared of a movie in a while. I was actually a little paranoid this movie seems scarier

than usual.

Then as soon as the man opened the door to the closet in his room the Roxy’s room door began to

creak.

We held each other screaming whilst the door to her room began slowly opening.
