Chapter 18
Chapter 18
Andrew’s voice was so loud that it immediately drew the attention of the other
guests.
“I’ve gone above and beyond just to bring my girlfriend here for a visit, and now you can’t even pay for two nights of my stay for me? How much would it cost you? This is nothing compared to your salary!” Andrew reproached her with great conviction.
One night in an executive suite was almost five thousand dollars. Andrew had booked the suite for two nights, amounting to ten thousand dollars in total.
That amount of money was hardly nothing to Larissa. Rather, it was an amount she would not spend without a great amount of consideration beforehand.
If Andrew’s attitude toward her had been better, she might have gritted her teeth and taken the loss without another complaint. However, the way he was speaking to her
now-
Larissa suddenly regretted her decision.
She should have told Andrew about her divorce from his brother. If she had done so earlier, she wouldn’t have been caught in this dilemma-
If Larissa wanted to put some distance between the two of them, she would have to reveal her private matters to the public. If she continued to say nothing and insisted on not paying for his room, she would leave the impression of her being stingy and heartless with her colleagues.
As she was hesitating, a well-dressed, beautiful woman approached them with two pieces of luggage.
She stopped beside Andrew and looked at Larissa and the receptionist. “What’s the matter? Are you not done yet?” she asked.
The impatient expression on her face mirrored Andrew’s earlier one. “It’s been so long already. I thought you said your sister-in-law was the manager of the housekeeping department here and that she’d already arranged for a room for us in advance?”
Larissa guessed that this was Andrew’s girlfriend, Kara.
They were quite the match-both of them cared about no one other than themselves.
After being questioned by Kara, Andrew’s expression changed immediately. He smiled broadly and wrapped his arms around her waist.
For the first time, Larissa realized that he was actually capable of smiling.
“The room has already been prepared, but I have to pay the room fees first,” Andrew explained softly, tenderness filling in his voice as he tried his hardest to please her.
“Pay, then,” Kara said.
Andrew’s expression turned hesitant. When he looked over at Larissa again, his eyes
bore a hint of malevolence.
“I thought my sister-in-law had already paid for the room fees, so I didn’t bring enough money with me. I didn’t think she would’ve refused to pay, and I don’t have enough money now anyway-”
Kara frowned. “Andrew, you pathetic, embarrassing son of a bitch! God! Going out with you is just embarrassing!”
She took out a credit card from her Chanel bag, her expression stony, and handed it
to the front desk. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
“Here. Swipe it.”
The receptionist did not immediately take the card. Instead, she looked over at Larissa. It was only when Larissa nodded that she swiped Kara’s card and completed the payment.
The receptionist handed the room card as well as her credit card to Kara. Smiling, she said, “Your room number is 2510, and your room will be on the 25th floor. When you arrive on the floor, someone will be there to show you the way. If you need anything at all, please do not hesitate to call the front desk.”
Kara ignored her and walked in the direction of the elevators, pulling her luggage behind her. She did not speak to Andrew either.
Andrew glared at Larissa.
“Baby! Wait up!” He jogged after Kara.
Once the big display of drama had come to an end, the hotel resumed its normal operating procedures.
Only-
The few receptionists at the front desk looked at Larissa strangely.
Larissa thought that this would be the end of the incident, but it was really the beginning of a series of nightmares.
She had Saturday off.
The day before, she had been on duty and hadn’t been able to sleep well. Initially, she had decided to stay at home and rest for the entire day, but it was only 2.00 pm when she received a call from her assistant, requesting for her to return to the hotel.
