Chapter 1070
"Hey, Jerry, what's happening?" Kathy, a coworker with a steaming mug of coffee, strolled over with curiosity.
Jerry hugged her immediately, "Oh, Kathy, I need some comforting. I stumbled upon this amazing talent. If I can sign him, it could mean millions for the company. I'd become the top agent in the biz. But you know how it is with young folks-they don't always see a good opportunity when it's right in front of them." "You mean Tony, right? I thought he was set to sign with you. What went sideways?" Kathy asked, intrigued.
Jerry sighed, "Before the signing, I found out Tony's still renting this tiny little place. Can you imagine? Living in such a cramped space! I went over, planning to snap some pics and videos for a promo, you know, to build a sympathetic narrative.
But get this, I found someone even more promising there. He's ridiculously good-looking, has this reassuring vibe, and a voice that could melt butter. Sure, his temper isn't the best, but I was completely taken. He's got that rugged charm, but he keeps turning me down.
I even tried to pressure Tony, but it backfired. I went to see him, and he called the cops on me. That female officer was fierce; I bet she's single."
Kathy was hooked by Jerry's tale, "I'd love to see this guy for myself."
"Sure thing, I'll take you to see Tony tomorrow. We can use it as a pretext." "Alright, it's a date."
The next day.
Tony was a bundle of nerves at home. He'd gotten word the night before that Jerry was bringing a bigwig to see if he could clear the last hurdle. If he did, they'd sign him on the spot.
He had his roommate help him pick out an outfit at the crack of dawn, even debating which bit parts made him look best.
Leo, lounging in a diner booth, watched Tony with a mix of emotions, "Take it easy, Tony."
"Leo, this is my shot."
Leo nodded, keeping his thoughts to himself.
Everyone around was throwing in
their two cents. Leo chimed in, "Tony, you've got years of acting under your belt. You must know some veterans. Get some pointers from them; they'll give you better advice than us outsiders."
His roommate agreed, "Leo's right. Hit up those veterans."
As Jerry and Kathy were about to arrive, Leo got up, making an excuse, "I gotta head out, Tony. My girl's out of snacks, and I haven't restocked yet."
Tony caught onto Leo's hint andnoveldrama
nodded. Leo chuckled and headed to
the supermarket, chatting with his girlfriend on his headset while shopping, "How about some shrimp chips?"
Anya replied, "Chad, wait up! I'll join you, and we can shop together."
"Aren't you busy spoiling your cat? And you still remember you've got a boyfriend?" Leo stood in front of Anya's favorite snacks, tossing a few bags into the cart. "I call you during the day, you're in class; in the evening, you're with your cat at night, you're watching my little brother-in-law. You're so Busy, you might as well be the sun."
Anya, a bit puzzled, asked, "Chad, do you think I'm as popular and lovable as the sun?"
"Don't be silly. I meant the world revolves around you."
Anya: "..."
"I'll grab the shrimp chips, and some potato chips too, but make sure they're boxed, not bagged," Anya specified.
Leo obliged, adding them to the cart, "With all these snacks, aren't you worried about putting on weight?"
What do you think?
