Chapter 7
In the end, Sabrina couldn't push herself to address Nelson as her brother, as she was deeply in love with him as a woman.
She was infatuated with him to the point that she'd brush off his cold shoulder treatment. She was happy as long as she was with him.
Too bad he wasn't into her, refusing to give her a chance of getting to know her, all because of his affection for another woman.
Putting that aside, Sabrina respected Nelson for staying loyal to one woman in his quick-paced life. She secretly patted herself on the back for her great taste in men.
Hence, she willingly ceded.
Nelson had told her to pick up the brooch at any time, or he could deliver it to her. She had never felt so relaxed when she agreed to it.
She believed she was worthy of love. One day, someone would treasure her.
…
Shannon was incensed when she heard that Pamela distracted Nelson at a critical time.
"That woman is not even half as good as Brina. Why is Nelson head over heels for her? I need to create a chance for Brina and Nelson to get to know each other. A beauty with a good personality like Brina is definitely Nelson's type."
"Mom, stop fretting about it. I had a talk with Sabrina." Nelson led the exhausted Ronaldo into the house. He was speechless at his parents, who stayed up until 3:00 am.
"What did you talk about?"
"We'll get a divorce after I overcome my jetlag." Nelson unbuttoned his collar and sat on the couch.
Shannon gasped in disbelief, "Did Brina agree to it?"
"Yeah. I sent her home just now, and she gave me her blessing. Just as you hoped, she and I will be siblings from now on."
Shannon was surprised to learn that the couple had talked it out.
"You married and set aside a lovely young lady for three years. Now, you're getting a divorce. Nelson Tucker, won't you regret this?"
"Not at all."
Dumbstruck, Shannon dragged Jackson to the second floor while scolding Nelson, "How could he give up on a nice woman like Brina for that good-for-nothing? His eyesight is fine now, but something's wrong with his brain. What a heartless bastard!"
…
As Sabrina had worked overnight for two days in a row, she went to sleep and woke up in the late afternoon.
Smelling the food, she left her bedroom and found her friend Abigail making soup. Leaning against the kitchen wall, Sabrina said with a smile, "Hey there, Cinderella."
"Dear princess, would you like to eat now?"
Feeling hungry, Sabrina quickly washed up and dined at the dining table. She asked Abigail, "I thought you went to Southerby with the crew to film."
"Shannon made me look after you because she was worried." Abigail served the soup. "Are you really going to divorce Nelson?"
"Yeah."
"Is this the outcome you wanted after waiting for six years?" Abigail felt indignant. "He would have been dead years ago if you hadn't saved him!"
Noticing Abigail's aggravation, Sabrina replied, "I'm tired. Honestly, I feel quite touched at his loyalty toward Pamela; he chose her without hesitation."
"Touched? What about you? You were so young when you… Will you really get over this?"
Blinking, Sabrina mumbled, "Well, I'll miss Shannon."
Abigail broke into a chuckle. "A divorce isn't too bad. There are better guys than Nelson in Slitton. Why don't you have some fun with me tonight? I'll find you some hot guys." Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
"Sure. I want some good-looking ones," Sabrina boldly stated.
Right after that, she received Shannon's call inviting her to dinner at the Tucker manor, where they would discuss the division of assets in the divorce.
Sabrina brought Shannon's favorite desserts and showed up at the Tucker manor. There was an attorney in the living room apart from her in-laws.
Shannon said to Sabrina, "Brina, get that rascal down here."
Sabrina went upstairs and knocked on Nelson's door, waiting for a response that never came. She opened the door to his bedroom, only to find it empty. Just as she was about to head to the study, she heard movement behind her.
Turning around, she saw him stepping out of the bathroom. His once neat hairstyle was now tousled, with water droplets trickling down his muscular frame and lower abdomen.
