Chapter 25
Don’t you touch me! Elise exclaimed, and Rygan was more than shocked to hear her voice echo to him telepathically.
“You are a telepath, but how Rygan let out in awe, for a moment distracted from the situation in the first place, until Elise growled at him.
“You think I give a shit about what powers I have right now, Rygan?” She huffed out, her eyes teary, as she pulled her hands away from his reaching hold. “You are such a lying jerk, Rygan. Ishould have known you were lying last night; all those promises meant nothing to you at all,” Elise replied bitterly.
Her body trembled from anger. Her eyes were wet with tears, and an indescribable feeling burned in her. Rygan tried to reach his hands out for her, but she took two steps back.
“Elise, please, that isn’t what happened. I just can’t.”
“Then explain to me….why did you sleep with Alvira?” She questioned him, and Rygan froze on the spot as he watched her eyes water.
“Love, listen to me,” he called, marching forward and holding her small face firmly in his palm as he caressed her skin and wiped her tears. “I don’t know what Alvira told you, but…”
“She did not need to tell me anything.” Elise snarled as she pulled his hand away. “I saw everything last night: I saw you two having sex you have no respect for me, Rygan, you never have, you are a liar; you did not choose me; you never have; and no one ever does.”
“No. no!” He exclaimed, “I have only ever wanted you, Elise. I don’t know what came over me, but I did not betray you; I thought it was you.”
“Oh, please, spare me your lies, Rygan. You have already broken my heart into a million pieces with your actions. What more do you want from me?” Elise cried, choking back her tears, the moment she heard footsteps heading closer to them.
She retreated a few feet away from him. Rygan still tried to come to her, but she shouted, “Don’t!* telepathically, making him stop in his tracks. Even though she didn’t know how she was able to do that, right now she did not care.
Kaide then made his way in and immediately halted when he saw them. He noticed the gloomy tension on both of their faces. Elise quickly turned away to wipe her tears. Kaide bowed to his alpha before carefully moving across the room to stand beside her, showing he meant no harm to get a raise from Rygan.
Tazmin came in next with Alvira and other young males and other warriors in tow; they all looked to Elise, who was shielded by Kaide, and it took all control in Rygan’s body to stop him from growling at his second act of being so protective of his own woman.
“Everything alright, Red?” Tazmin asked with a brow pulled up in concern as she looked at the trio standing close together. “No, nothing at all, Elise answered.
“From what Rygan said, I expected that you both would duel since you’ve been training here for a while. I want to see how you’d do against him. Taz joked.
But Alvira was annoyed that a joke was being made about her fiancé. She then stepped forward with her hands crossed and a smug look on her face as she strutted to Rygan, placing a palm on his chest and his neck to show the hickey she deliberately left.
“I think my alpha still needs to rest after last night,” she said, looking straight at Elise, smug and unfazed. She knew exactly there to her on her alpha.
she was doing, especially since a small crowd of wolves wastritis ATV
“I’m sorry, Thave to leave,” Elise muttered quietly, almost a whisper, before she moved away from the group. Kaide instantly turned to follow her, but she stopped in her tracks when she heard the command from his alphaContent is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
“Don’t you fucking dare more an inch.” Rygan sent to his mind as Kaide stood still. Rygan pushed Alvira’s hands away from his nape and let out a low snarl
“I’ll deal with you later,” he said before following Elise out of the hall. They took off on a narrow road, and she heard footsteps behind her, with Rygan hot on her heels.
“Stop!” but she ignored him.
“Stop rumming away; stop right this instant!” Rygan ordered, and she stopped and turned to him, her tear–stricken face filled with so much heartbreak that Rygan felt like pulling his own heart out would stop her tears. He’d give it–give anything.
He closed the space between them, taking her face between his hands, and kissed her, pouring his desire for her into it. She pushed him off, and her hands raised in response to all the pain and anger she felt as she put it all into a punch that landed on his face.
“Don’t you fucking touch me!” She screamed, her eyes wet with tears. “You betrayed me, and there is nothing that makes me come back to you, and I cannot and will not be a second choice; will not be your mistress,” she called with an accusatory finger towards Rygan,
“Elise, just listen to me; I will reject her.”
“No. I’m never listening to you again. You told me you’d choose me, and minutes later, I find you fucking Alvira in your chambers. I cannot think or even trust you right now, Rygan, and I will not apologize for hitting you. Lock me up, just like Kyren did. I do not care,” she raged, wiping her tears.
“I know I am a weak omega with nothing or even a pack to call my home, and there will be nothing if you choose me. You have made your choice, Rygan, and on the high moon in a few weeks, I hope you reject me because I’m sick and tired of playing the patient dog to people who do not want me,” she said.
“You know I will never do that; I am not that bastard,” he called, reaching out to touch her. His wolf felt like it was on fire, not being close to her, and hearing her cry that he caused it.
“Do not come near me,” she whimpered. She didn’t want his touch to tempt her and change her mind. “Please,” she added telepathically, “You can lie to the others that I’m sick since you are good at that,” she called with a bitter plight, hoping to hurt him somehow. “Goodbye, Rygan.”
This time Rygan stopped in his tracks, letting Elise walk away into the mist–covered cold morning, but Elise didn’t head back to the moon house; instead, she took a familiar trail and bridge to the healer’s house.
Holding back her tears till she saw Vienna’s doors, she didn’t care at that moment that Vienna might be terrified of her after she helped Bellamy that day and healed her; she just really needed someone to talk to.
She headed to Vienna’s dark oak cabin, knocking on the door till she heard someone approach. Vienna opened it, stunned to see a disheveled Elise, whom she immediately opened her arms up for the young female to hug
“I can’t do this anymore; I’m a mess; no one wants me; and everywhere I go, I’m always cursed; I can’t do it anymore.”
“Shh, calm down, Elise,” she said softly as she hugged her tight. “I’m here for you, but you need to explain to me what’s going on. I promise my words, and I swear for my life that I will not judge you. But you need to tell me what’s going on, please,” she pleaded.
Elise read Vienna’s face and tone and saw no lie but a genuine answer in them as she sniffled out, “All right, Vienna,” she called, looking at the healer who led her into the house.
“I will tell you everything!
