Reborn From Oblivion

Chapter 446

Benjamin's jaw dropped when he saw that familiar face. "Nathan? How is it you?"

A surge of unease washed over him as his eyes darted to the contract. Just moments ago, he'd nearly gambled his entire fortune on this project. If it went south, he'd be left with nothing.

Nathan gazed at him casually. A reunion of brothers should've been filled with warmth, but it wasn't. As business partners, they should've been discussing deals, but that wasn't happening either. The first words out of Nathan's mouth shook his two closest aides to their cores.novelbin

"Benjamin, I heard that while I was away from London for two years, you've been eyeing my girl, Nathalie?"

Dominick and Ford almost spat out their drinks. Dominick whispered, "Boss, couldn't you start with something... less explosive?"

Nathan shot him a sharp look that shut him up instantly, making him shrink behind Ford like a scared kitten. Ford's slim build did little to hide him.

"Ford, eat more. You're too thin."

Ford shivered under Nathan's piercing stare and replied, "Even if I bulked up, I couldn't shield myself from Mr. Nathan's intense presence."

Benjamin studied Nathan closely, noting how much he'd changed. The youthful innocence was gone from his face, replaced by a commanding sharpness that made him seem unapproachable and authoritative. Despite this, Benjamin, having tasted some success recently, had grown cocky. He wasn't intimidated by the new Nathan and always tried to knock Nathan down a peg to make himself look better.

"Nathan, since when did Nathalie become your girl? If she really cared about you, why didn't she stick by you two years ago? Instead, she left and came to me, asking for my help," Benjamin shot back. Nathan's face darkened slightly, his long, pale fingers curling beneath his sleeves.

Sensing the tension rising, Ford and Dominick took a step back.

Feeling the heat of the moment, Benjamin edged closer to his bodyguards. "Nathan, you're not thinking of causing trouble here, are you? warn you, this is my turf. Even a dragon can't overpower the local snake."

Nathan looked at him with utter contempt. "Is that a fact?"

He stepped forward. His bodyguards, moving like a well-oiled machine, followed in perfect sync.

A pang of fear hit Benjamin as he wiped imaginary sweat from his forehead. "Nathan, if you try anything, I'll call the cops." Nathan closed in, his tall, commanding presence towering over the less-than-six-foot Benjamin.

Looking down with an air of intimidation, he said, "Why would I need to lift a finger?"

His gaze landed on the contract. "Benjamin, I enjoy watching my prey get caught in my web, seeing them thrash around like trapped animals, hitting walls, desperately searching for a way out."

Even in his arrogance, Benjamin picked up on the veiled threat. "Nathan, is there something wrong

with this contract? No, Mr. Gyle went over it. There can't be."

Recovering his nerve, Benjamin glared back. "Nathan, even if you're the big shot and I'm just the agent, you still have to play by the contract." Nathan gave him a look of pity. "Idiot."

Inside, Benjamin trembled. Nathan's hint was clear as day. Something was definitely wrong with that contract.
