Reborn as the Villainess

Reborn As The 24

Eleanor stood up with a smile and looked at Freddie with unwavering confidence. "Mr. Evans, I've said I didn't cheat. But if some teachers and students don't believe me, the best way to settle this is for me to retake the exam." Betty immediately scoffed, "Retake the exam? You've seen all the papers already and know the answers. What can the result prove?"

Eleanor raised her gaze and pierced into Betty's soul with a chilling look. "Miss Mille, if you don't believe me, feel free to let the teachers here give me the questions right now."

Betty was taken aback, momentarily stunned by the intensity of Eleanor's stare. Once she regained her composure, she huffed, "Fine, let's have a live quiz. If you can't do it, you're out of Class A and Aloria High School."

Eleanor tilted her head, ready for the challenge. "Sure, but if I get them right, you'll pack your bags and leave Aloria High School. How about that?"

Betty didn't expect Eleanor to challenge her like that. She was boiling in anger as she slammed her hand on the desk. "How dare you!"

Eleanor shrugged and locked eyes with Betty. "We're having a bet, right? It's funnier to have both parties in, isn't it? Don't tell me you're scared, Miss Mille."

With her pride at stake in front of everyone, Betty had no choice but to grit her teeth and accept. She thought there was no way Eleanor could actually ace this.

A few teachers exchanged glances, unsure how things had escalated this way. Yet they were too cautious to speak up and only waited for Freddie's decision.

Freddie's gaze darted from Eleanor's confident face to Betty's seething expression, and he finally raised his hand and announced, "Alright then, let's have a couple of teachers give Eleanor a few questions. If she answers them all correctly, that proves she didn't cheat." One teacher stepped forward and suggested, "I just came up with a few physics problems for my students. They'll work for Eleanor's quiz." He began to pull out the questions.

Eleanor stood there and said, "Just read them out loud, please. I can do it mentally. That way, no one can claim I hid the answers in my notes."

Her tone dripped with mockery, and Betty was practically ready to blow a gasket. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

The teacher frowned and said, "Eleanor, these are all complex questions. You definitely can't do these calculations in your head." The physics questions involved not just calculations but also a bunch of formulas. Even if she could write them out, it'd be impressive to finish in under a minute.

But Eleanor remained confidently persistent. "It's fine, just read them out loud, sir."

Seeing her determination, the teacher reluctantly started to read, "A conveyor belt makes an angle of 37 with the horizontal. A 4 kg block is placed at point A with no initial velocity. The sliding friction from the conveyor belt makes the block accelerate before it moves at a constant speed.

"Given the friction coefficient, the distance between A and B, and g = 10 m/s2, find the acceleration of the block during its accelerated motion."

Q.4 m/s." Almost as soon as the teacher finished reading, Eleanor blurted out the answer.

Everyone froze, unable to believe someone could respond that quickly. The teacher, almost in disbelief, muttered, "Yeah, that's right. The answer is indeed 0.4 m/s"."

"Next question: If a horizontal force starts pulling the rod from rest and does 0.3 J of work in 2 seconds..."

One after another, Eleanor blurted out the answers almost the moment the teacher finished reading the questions. She even smoothly handled the ones the teacher improvised on the spot.

The other teachers exchanged looks of admiration, realizing they were witnessing a rare talent. Every teacher thought she

was a gem.

But Betty's expression darkened with disbelief as she heard Eleanor answer all the questions. She shouted, "No way! This can't be happening! How can someone do complex questions in their head?" Eleanor crossed her arms and coolly stared back at Betty. "If you still don't believe me, let's keep doing the Q&A section. I've got all the time to make you believe me."

"Enough," Freddie finally spoke up, unable to hold back any longer. "Eleanor's quick responses show she's got a solid knowledge base. Her scores are definitely legit. Let's just call it a day."

Hearing Freddie's words, everyone else fell silent. But Eleanor, expressionless, turned to Betty and said loudly, "Since I've answered all the questions correctly and proved I didn't cheat, when will you fulfill your promise?"

Betty's face instantly turned grim. She had meant to get rid of Eleanor, but now she found herself on the edge of a cliff.

Aloria High School was a prestigious institution in the province, and getting a teaching position here was highly sought after. It wasn't just about the decent pay; it came with immense prestige. Teachers in the school would be treated with respect, and even the head of the Department of Education would roll out the red carpet for them.

She had worked hard for years to earn her position, and in a few more years, she could climb into the leadership ranks. She couldn't just get kicked out now.

"Um..." Freddie looked a bit stuck. With the UAT just two months away, losing a teacher now would throw a wrench in everyone's plans, and it'd be tough to find a suitable replacement on short notice.

"Eleanor, the UAT is just around the corner. We don't want to hold up everyone's progress, right? How about we discuss this after the UAT?" Freddie suggested with a smile.

Eleanor returned a smile but wasn't about to back down. "Mr. Evans, teachers teach us to keep our word, to be trustworthy. When it comes to teachers, why do those principles fly out the window? How can you expect students to look up to the teachers if they don't lead by example? What would that do to the reputation of Aloria High School?"

Eleanor's voice rang out, powerful and resonant, and it startled everyone on the spot.

Betty's face twisted in anger, and her nails dug into her palm. "Little brat!" she shouted, raising her hand to strike. She could no longer hold back her anger, and she was sure Eleanor was clearly trying to get her out of the school.
