Chapter 13: He’s Not Coming Back, I Hate him!
Hayden felt a little helpless so she could only put down the plates again and caressed the little boy’s head, “Do you want me to stay here with you?”
He nodded obediently.
“Alright, I will stay here then.”
The little boy seemed to be stunned for second as if he didn’t expect that she would really agree to his request.
“However, we can’t sit on the floor like this because the floor is very cold. You will get sick soon. Shall we move to the sofa?”
The young hastily nodded and his obedient image now was a far cry from his previous vehement self.
Hayden smiled with satisfaction as she carried him up from the floor to the sofa and sat down.
She decided to ignore the mess on the floor while cracking a few jokes to the young child. He seemed to enjoy the jokes as his face lit up brightly and he was now laughing without stopping.
Despite that, this child looked like he didn’t want to tell her anything.
Seeing that he was in a better mood now, Hayden asked him tentatively, “Can you tell me why you are this unhappy? Is it because nobody is keeping you company?”
When she broached this topic, it was as if her words had hit the little boy’s weak spot. Hayden finally understood that the reason the boy was throwing a tantrum was because he couldn’t express himself well and needed to write things down on a paper. She turned around and chanced upon a stack of papers by the bed, as if they were prepared for her beforehand. Those papers were scribbled with many things it seemed.
She immediately grabbed them for the little boy.
He immediately wrote down a line of words, “Dad, bad, didn’t bring me out to play.”
Hayden was surprised that this kid knew how to write so many words. She only came back to her senses after a moment and realized that he must have been taught by his parents to write. It seemed that he couldn’t speak for some reason.
“Are you saying that your dad originally wanted to bring you out to have fun, but he didn’t carry out his promise in the end? Are you angry because of that?”
The little boy nodded with force, and there was a hint of indignation on his face.
Hayden let out a sigh while continued to console him while caressing his head, “Maybe your dad is really busy? Your dad must have been working hard to let you live a better life; therefore he doesn’t have much free time. That is why he doesn’t have time to accompany you to have fun.”
The little boy wasn’t convinced by her words, and he immediately wrote another line on the paper while shouting, “I can’t see my dad, for many days. He is not coming back, I hate him.”
That man had actually left his son in a hotel room for so many days?
Hayden couldn’t help but frown. What was this father actually thinking?
“When your dad is back, I will talk to him.” Hayden held the boy’s hand and added, “How could he leave a child here all alone waiting for him? Moreover, this is not your home anyway. This is a hotel. What if something were to happen?”
The little boy nodded in agreement.
“Were you here all alone these past few days?”
He nodded again.
Hayden hesitated for a moment before suggesting, “Do you want me to bring you out there? Let’s get some fresh air.”
The boy immediately nodded with obvious joy.
He was still a child after all who loved fun. Although this suite was huge, but it would feel suffocating for an adult to stay in this place for a few days, let alone a child. So, Hayden decided to bring him out to get some fresh air. NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
“Oh, right. What is your name?”
Before they exited the suite, Hayden suddenly asked. Thinking that he didn’t know how to say anything, she stopped short in the living room and said, “Wait a while, let me get some paper and pen so that you can write down what you are thinking when we are out there.”
Then, he left the boy in the living room and went back to the bedroom to fetch the paper and pen.
The initial crowd at the door was now no more. Only two waiters and Hayden’s assistant was still standing by there while the others were nowhere to be seen.
With a loud clicking sound, someone suddenly shouted, “The chandelier!”
Hayden was just emerging from the bedroom when she sought for the source of that voice. Then, she saw that a chandelier which was directly above that boy was swaying around violently with the chains crashing into each other and making a loud grinding sound.
“Ah!”
The people stood rooted at the door and could only watch in horror as the chandelier came crashing down.
