Chapter 157 Don’t cry
Chapter 157 Don’t cry
“Don’t cry, OK?” Looking down at his sobbing wife, Matthew did not know how to soothe her.
Blanca was really drunk. She felt dizzy and hot. She even forgot that she was still at the party. She
raised her head and fixed her eye on Matthew’s handsome face, with her cute, sad eyes, like there was
no one else in the hall. “Don’t leave me again, Matthew! Or I will tell everyone your secrets,” she said.
Matthew didn’t speak. He smiled a little and lifted Blanca, leaving the Country Garden. Most guests
stared after them with envy. There was much talk after they left.
“This is unbelievable. Mr. Grant was so protective of Mrs. Grant.”
“God, Mr. Grant is so nice and tender. I wish I had a husband like him.”
“Mrs. Grant is so lucky. I’ve heard Mr. Grant has mysophobia, but I knew it was just nonsense when I
saw how Mrs. Grant lay in his arms and cried.”
“Oh, yes of course! They are husband and wife.”
Louise was white with rage to hear that. In her memory, Matthew had never been so nice to anyone,
including her. She thought Blanca didn’t deserve it at all. “Blanca!” murmured Louise through clenched
teeth.
Malinda understood some of her moods. She took her hand and said, “Don’t worry, Louise. Matthew
will fall in love with you sooner or later.”
Louise’s eyes brightened and she asked hastily, “What do you suggest we do?” To her disappointment,
Malinda shook her head. In fact, Malinda had a hand in what just happened to Blanca. She had
encouraged the man, but she didn’t expect him to fail.
“Come with me, Louise. I have to tell you something,” Malinda said with a big smile. Then she took
Louise into her bedroom and locked the door.
Louise was curious about Malinda’s mysterious smile, but she was glad Malinda trusted her so much.
Malinda was Ernest’s granddaughter and both Grant family and Butler family loved her very much. As Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
Ernest was Matthew’s mentor, Louise had been played with Malinda since her childhood.
“You told me Blanca has a pendant, right? Have you seen it?” Malinda asked with a smile. She was
more ravishing when she smiled.
Louise nodded and gave detailed reports about Blanca’s pendant. “There’s still one thing that I cannot
understand. The pendant looks quite valuable. How could Blanca have it? She came from some slum.
Oh, wait. I almost forgot. Your grandpa is an expert in jade.”
A slight smile broke on Malinda’s lips. “Grandpa is very interested in jade. So, I hope you can find a
way to get Blanca’s pendant. I want it,” she said.
“Why do you want it?” Louise asked curiously.
“Grandpa loves collecting fine jade. So, I want to give it to him,” Malinda lied.
Louise didn’t see through her and agreed without any hesitation. She was anxious to please Malinda.
Moreover, it was not a problem for her to get Blanca’s pendant.
