Chapter 122 Being one of white-collar ladies
Blanca nodded and got in the car. They were headed for the Empire Group.
The Empire Group was located in the center of the CBD of Oakshire. As a busy heart of the city, the
sidewalks of the CBD were bustling with people. Blanca was so excited to see the bustling road and
people walking on it. From this day forward, she was one of them.
The car stopped at the door of the Empire Group. When Blanca got out of the car and was about to
walk towards the building, a voice came behind her. “Blanca!”
Blanca turned and saw Isabel running towards her in high heels. “Isabel,” Blanca was so happy to see
her here.
Isabel ran in front of Blanca and panted, “Let’s go together.”
“OK.”
They stepped in together. When they were waiting for an elevator, Isabel was unable to contain herself
and asked, “Did the Chairman drop you off today? Everybody says you are his wife. You know, our
company’s rules required no fiefdoms. So, our colleagues were lukewarm about you. Hope you don’t
mind.”
Blanca nodded, but there was one thing that still perplexed her. She asked, “Uh, there’s something I
want to ask you.”
“What is it? I will tell you everything I know,” said Isabel, smiling. NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
Blanca had known Isabel well after spending a day with her. She grew up in a rich and happy family.
So, she was always enthusiastic and energetic. Recently, she just graduated from a college.
At this moment, the elevator came and they entered. There was no one in here but themselves.
“Most colleagues looked quite hostile to me.” Blanca asked. Nominally, she was the wife of Matthew,
the chairman of the Empire Group. So, she had never thought of that! Generally, even if they did not
butter her up, they were less likely to bully her.
“Well. Er…” Isabel opened her mouth to say something but stopped. She hesitated for a moment. Then
she leaned close to Blanca and whispered in her ear. “Okay, I’ll tell you something, but please don’t tell
Mr. Grant I said that. You know Louise, Mr. Grant’s sister, right? She did it. She has threatened
everyone. If we got close with you, there’s a price to be paid. But trust me, I am not like them. I hate
this kind of thing,” said Isabel indignantly.
Blanca was a little surprised to hear that. She had thought they didn’t like her because her low
education background or because she got the job by connections and luck. She had not even
suspected Louise was behind this!
“Thank you for telling me this, Isabel,” Blanca said with a smile. She really appreciated what Isabel had
done.
“Oh, you’re welcome. Oh, by the way, can we have lunch together?”
“OK.”
They entered their offices. Not long after sitting down, Blanca received a message. It was from Fiona.
She thanked Blanca and ask her if she could draw more cartoon figures. Blanca was ecstatic about it.
She took this job and promised she would do it immediately after work.
After sending the message to Fiona, Blanca turned to look at Anna through the shutters, who was very
busy at this moment.
