Serenity found it laughable. “You should tell that to my sister, not me. Excuse me, I have to get back to work.”
Kristin yelled angrily, “It’s your fault the 3D projection ads for Jenny’s marriage were taken down! Because you hit and killed Jackson Valor’s fiancee, he’s holding the Shaw family responsible. Meanwhile, here you are, cleaning the streets without a care in the world.”
Serenity was surprised. She did not expect it to be the work of Jackson Valor.
Jackson Valor… It was thanks to him that she was able to escape from William Sanders that time.
That man was the “god” of Solaria. He controlled the great Valor Group. No one dared to offend him. His words were like imperial edicts in this city.
Her relationship with Jackson Valor was indeed a bit complicated.
The reason Zeke Shaw was so eager to break up with her three years ago and the reason no lawyer in Solaria dared to take her case was exactly because of Jackson Valor.
The reason the prison guards did not care when she was tortured in prison was also because of Jackson Valor.
That’s because the person she killed was Jackson Valor’s fiancee.
There was an incident in prison where her head was held down in cold water and she almost drowned. The fear of death, gripped her strongly then.
The reason she was treated this way in prison was simply because someone had heard that the Valor family wished for her to suffer in prison. Anyone who wanted to get in Jackson Valor’s good books would come to her and torment her.
Serenity continued to sweep the floor, ignoring Kristin.
That angered Kristin. She wanted to slap Serenity but was held back by Jenny.
“Jenny, she’s too arrogant. We need to teach her a lesson!” Kristin said.
“No need to dirty our hands.” The corners of Jenny’s lips suddenly curled into a smile. “I lost a ring. I think I must have lost it nearby. It was probably swept away along with the trash on the ground. Looks like I’ll have to trouble the sanitation workers to help me find it.”
Kristin was puzzled at first, but she soon figured out what Jenny was trying to do. She also smiled and said, “Yes, they have to look for it. Your ring’s really expensive. They need to search through the trash carefully and make sure they don’t miss anything.”
Kristin said to Serenity, “You’re the person who has been sweeping around here. You must have thrown the ring into the trash can. Hurry up and go through the trash to find the ring!”
Serenity stopped sweeping and stared at her coldly.
“What are you looking at? Hurry up and find it! If you can’t find it, that means you stole the ring!” Kristin spoke viciously.
Xyla, who was sweeping across the road, saw the commotion and came over to ask what was going on.
Jenny quickly made a call. As expected, soon after that, Xyla received a call from the director who told her that they had to find Jenny’s lost ring no matter what.
Serenity pursed her lips. She knew that Jenny was deliberately making things difficult for her, but she had no choice but to look for this imaginary ring.
Not long after, their team leader also rushed over. When he heard that Jenny’s ring was worth over $10,000, he immediately told Xyla and Serenity, “Hurry up and look for the ring! Look in every trash can you dumped rubbish into earlier! Make sure you find the ring!”
“Okay, we’ll go back to our car and wait. If you find the ring, please inform us,” Jenny said elegantly as she got ready to leave.
