Chapter 26 Controlfreak Nick(2)
“Why not?” She asked, leaning forward, ready to tackle the subject, “Evan and I are his godparents, don’t you think we’re capable of taking care of him? It kind of hurts thinking about it that way. Did you just pick us to be his godparents to humor us?”
“Of course not.” Nick frowned, “I trust you two with my life, that’s not the point.”
“Then why no honeymoon after the wedding?” She asked, “Just a week away will do you both good.”
Evan nodded, “I agree with Zoey on this one, I think you both need a break after the wedding. Focusing on you. You’ve been through a lot, I think it’s time you two take some time to reload.”
I turned to look at my fiancé, knowing I could give him the final push, “A week away does sound good.” I told him quietly, “We don’t have to go far, just a week to ourselves to reload sounds like heaven.”
Evan leaned back against the couch, placing his arm around the backseat while Zoey snuggled closer to him. They were comfortable enough around us to show some affection. They looked good together. I hoped things worked out for them, that eventually, Zoey could use that number to the wedding planner.
“Now you have to agree, your fiancée needs some quiet time alone with you,” Evan told his friend with a smug look plastered on his face.
Nick beside me shifted, his eyes shifting to my face, “Just a week?”
“Just a week.” I agreed.
“I can agree to a week.” His eyes traveled back to Evan and Zoey, “We’ll discuss the details when I’ve arranged the trip, but just to let you know I’m going to call every day to check in.”
Zoey scrunched her nose, “Nick-”
“That’s the best I can do, so you either take it or we reschedule our honeymoon.” His eyes flashed back to me, “I want to give Emily everything she wants, but I can’t give her the honeymoon without feeling secure when it comes to Matthew.”
Zoey mouthed to me, “Control freak.” Which made me laugh.
Nick was definitely a control freak, but I knew that when I decided to explore things with him. That side of him also oddly enough attracted me to him, I loved it when he got all caveman on me. I’d never tell him because then he’d know he’d be able to get away with a lot. I knew people around me found that crazy too, but I didn’t care. It was what made him the Nick I loved, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Leaning closer to him I pressed a kiss to his cheek.
“I’m sure we can work things out.”
We focused back on the movie and said goodbye to Evan and Zoey around eleven.
…
Nick crawled into bed after his shower and rolled to his side, meeting my gaze.
“I need to tell you something.”
The whole ‘we need to talk’ conversation always meant trouble, but I knew breaking up wasn’t on Nick’s mind so it didn’t scare me, a lot. Instead, I remained silent while I let him continue.
“Your mother dropped by at my office today.”
“W-What?”
“I didn’t know it was her, but she did most of the talking and eventually I figured out who she was and what she wanted.” Nick sighed, “She made it sound like she just wanted to see you, spend time with her daughter because she didn’t get the opportunity to in the past. She didn’t know I knew her story so I let her continue, but then she mentioned how she was glad her daughter ended up with me and she wanted to get to know more about the wedding. It just felt odd and Evan agreed with me. That woman is off.”Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Max warned us about her.”
“I just thought they were exaggerating, she is your mother.”
“Some women don’t have the maternal instinct as they call it.”
“Only a survival instinct?”
I smiled and snuggled closer to him, “Something like that.”
“I told her to back off.” He looked away from me, rolling to his back to stare at the ceiling, “I should have discussed it with you first-”
I ran my fingers through his dark locks, smiling, “Nick, you’ve always been there for me. I know you can make the right decision for us. I have no intention of meeting my mother, not wanting to get hurt by whatever she has to say because I know it’s not sincere. She hasn’t been in my life for years, with her I can definitely say it’s about you and your billions.”
Nick let his hand travel over my bare leg, letting his hand slip between my thighs. The soft touch made my body burn up with anticipation. Nick leaned closer, his lips brushing against my neck while his hand traveled further, pushing into my panties.
“I’m glad my billions is not why you want me.” He whispered, “It’s all about my body and the orgasms I give you.”
I pushed against his shoulder, laughing quietly, “Don’t be that cocky, who says I haven’t faked an orgasm or two?”
He leaned up, his eyes narrowing on me, “I can feel it when you come. You tighten around me, squeezing me so hard you make me come too.”
“Zoey called you a charmer.” I whispered, brushing my fingers over his lips which were pulled up to a smirk, “If only she could hear you now.”
“She’d still find me charming enough.”
I cupped his face and pulled him closer, brushing my lips against his, “Someone is amazingly arrogant tonight.”
He chuckled, pressing his lips harder against mine. We kissed, his hand in my panties making me wet and needy. Letting my hands travel over his firm chest I slipped them underneath his tee and felt up his abs. I pulled away from the kiss, biting into his shoulder to keep my moans down when he slipped his fingers inside me, moving them around. He was slowly bringing me to the edge when a baby squeal caused both of us to freeze.
“Dammit.” Nick whispered in my neck, pulling away to glance over his shoulder, “I’ll get that.”
He pulled completely away from me, heading to the bathroom. I heard the water run, rolling to my side as I tried to calm my breathing down. I felt empty without him, but thankfully he was checking on Matthew so I could gather my thoughts.
“You okay?” He asked me as he moved to the door.
“I’m fine,” I told him.
“Don’t get yourself off.” He warned me, “I want to get you there.”
Smiling I agreed, “Fine, I’ll keep my hands to myself.”
He laughed, walking out and leaving the door ajar as he took care of Matthew. I stared at the ceiling, closing my eyes and listening to Nick and Matthew. Matthew’s noises were slowly fading, I tried to stay focused on it, but along the way, I drifted away.
