My Mute Wife

Chapter 13 You’re a Good Man

Kevin’s car was a gray Infiniti with a very low-key appearance, just like the feeling Kevin gave her, warm and calm.

The exact opposite of Alan.

Alan had a black Maybach, a twenty million luxury car that was very eye-catching in the crowd.

Why was she suddenly thinking of him?

Lexie bit her lower lip in chagrin and looked out the window.

As the car had just left the Howard family’s front door, Diana came back just in time with Marry, who was stunned, “Madam, is that Mr. Kevin’s car?”

Diana nodded, “What’s wrong?”

Marry said, “I just saw Mrs. Howard … in Mr. Kevin’s car.”

Diana’s face sank, “Are you sure?”

Marry nodded solemnly, “Yes, Mrs. Howard is sitting in the passenger seat and Mr. Kevin is talking and laughing with her.”

Diana fell silent and glanced towards the outside of the gate with a gloomy gaze, “Check properly how the two of them met.”

Lexie arrived at the hospital, rushed to Grandma’s ward together with Mr. Kevin.

Lexie heard her grandma’s laughter from the doorway and saw the nurse telling her grandma jokes through the glass doorway.

Her grandma’s soft smile warmed her heart.

As she pushed the door open, Grandma looked up and saw her, and her eyes lit up, “Lexie!”

Grandma was very excited, Lexie rushed over to hold her, shook her head and did sign language: [You just ger well, you can’t go down to the ground, you have to rest more.]

Grandma obeyed as she had to lie back down and laughed, “I am good, and I feel full of strength.”

Lexie smiled gently and peeled an apple for her, then scooped it out with a spoon and put it in a bowl, then put the small fork in it before she handed it to Grandma.

Grandma is old, the corners of her eyes are full of wrinkles. Seeing that Lexie was so understanding, she can’t help but flooded with tears: “Good girl, I have been your burden.”

Lexie slowly shook her head and gestured, [We are families, you are not a burden. Grandma, you have to get well and get better as soon as possible, I have to take you on a trip later, didn’t you say you like going to see the snowy mountains?]

Grandma smiled with tears in her eyes, “Okay, okay, I will get well soon.”Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

This warm and touching scene in front of him made Kevin’s heart feel emotional, although he grew up without a father, his mother gave him much care and treated him well.

But Lexie’s affection with her grandma still touched him deeply.

He spoke in a warm voice, but it was off comfort, “Miss Mitchell, I just asked the nurse, your grandma is good now. I’ll go prepare the information for her review first, later you can bring her to me in the office.”

Only then did Lexie remember that Kevin was also here, and felt quite embarrassed for neglecting him, [Thank you, Dr. Stewart, you are a good person.]

Kevin couldn’t understand this complicated sign language of hers, but Grandma explained it to him.

“No worries.” He smiled and after he left, Grandma squeezed her eyebrows and teased Lexie; “Is this handsome young man your boyfriend? I have been in a coma for so long, why didn’t you tell me?”

Lexie was stunned, not expecting her grandma to misunderstand her and Kevin.

She didn’t want to tell her Grandma that she had married someone else, lest Grandma would be upset, so she shook her head, [No, grandma, he’s a doctor who has helped us, he’s very nice].

Grandma was a little disappointed but relieved that her granddaughter was so wonderful that sooner or later she would meet a partner who would really be good for her.

After spending the afternoon with her grandma, Lexie left the ward and went to the dean, intending to ask her how much more money she needed for the next major surgery.

Unexpectedly, the dean said with a smile, “Miss Mitchell, no need to worry, someone has already paid the money for you, your Grandma’s surgery is scheduled for next Monday, there is no need for you to pay separately.”
