My Four Miraculous Treasures

Chapter 119

"You think I don't realize that?" Jasper's gaze darkened.

Willow paused before coming to a realization. "Oh, I get it. You already knew that Edith was the mastermind behind the rumor. You're really brilliant, Mr. Hughes. As expected of you." Willow gave him a thumbs-up and complimented him.

Her eyes were smiling as she spoke. The moonlight illuminated her clear eyes, like the bright lake water reflecting the moon at night.

Her praises sounded pleasant as he looked at her. "At least you're not hopelessly stupid."

Willow was speechless.

Mr. Hughes had a unique way of praising people, she thought.

Then, Willow remembered something else. "Mr. Hughes, did you already know that Edith was behind the design theft too?"

"Of course. Why else would you be released so fast?" Jasper asked her back instead of giving her a firm answer.

Still, the answer was obvious enough.

Willow suddenly felt aggrieved and angry.

If Jasper already knew that she didn't steal the design, why didn't he do anything when she tried to explain to him earlier today that she was innocent? He just watched as she was being taken away to the police station. Willow puffed up her cheeks. "Mr. Hughes, why did you accuse me and send me to the police station when you already know that Edith was the culprit?"

She felt so aggrieved, helpless, and worried earlier when she was being detained.

What would happen to her children if she was thrown into prison? Who would raise them?

What would happen to her mother and aunt?

Not only would her children suffer without any source of income, but the two elderly women would also be distressed.

Jasper took a step towards her in a domineering manner. "Why can't I send you to the police station? Do you think you're special?"

His masculine scent wafted over the instant he approached Willow, causing her heart to beat faster.

She subconsciously backed away. "But I was being framed."

"You say you were framed, but do you have proof?" Jasper closed in with his imposing aura.

When his large shadow hovered over Willow, she backed away anxiously only to trip over a rock. Her body began to fall backward. ""Ah!" Willow cried.

Just as she thought she would fall over and crack her skull, a strong arm seized her waist. Her falling. body was pulled forward with a tug, and she fell into the man's lean yet sturdy chest.

Willow's vision was spinning in panic. Then, she met a pair of dark obsidian eyes.

As if there were butterflies in her stomach, her heart skipped a beat before it started racing.

Jasper gazed deeply at her. His slender fingers lifted her chin and he said in a low voice, "I was teaching you a lesson by sending you to the police station. This is so that you'd stop being so stupid. Do you understand?"

Willow was riled up. "Didn't you just praise me for being smart? Why are you calling me stupid now? Aren't you just contradicting yourself?"

Wasn't he praising her for being smart earlier when he said that she wasn't hopelessly stupid?

Jasper was speechless.

He had never met such a shameless woman who would flatter herself.

He would've ignored her if she was someone else.

Yet, this was Willow. A woman who made Jasper feel conflicted.

Jasper couldn't resist her body. He could always feel a sense of familiarity akin to the sensation he felt on that night five years ago.noveldrama

He liked how delicate and soft her body was. He also liked how she made him feel.

However, he despised her character.

The woman would stop at nothing to seduce men for money. She used her wits on men, but was dumb enough to end up in a police station!
