Aria’s POV
The next day was a big event at the castle.
Caspian was becoming the Alpha King of the LightShadow pack.
The place was packed with guests from near and far, all here to witness the big moment. The hall looked perfect, everything set up just right. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Caspian’s parents stood at the front with the elders, looking important and proud.
Caspian’s father, George, who used to be the Alpha, welcomed everyone and then started talking to the guests.
As the ceremony began, Caspian’s father, George, stepped forward to welcome the guests. “Welcome, everyone,” he said, his voice carrying across the hall. “We are honored to have you here to witness this momentous occasion.”
He then turned to address the gathered guests. “Today marks a new chapter for our pack,” George continued, his tone solemn yet filled with pride. “As my son, Caspian, takes his place as the Alpha King of the LightShadow pack, we look forward to a future filled with prosperity and unity.”
The guests nodded in agreement, murmuring their approval as George spoke. His words carried weight, and there was anticipation in the air as everyone awaited the crowning of the new Alpha King.
Caspian himself looked so handsome, dressed up and ready to become the Alpha King. Girls were swooning over him, unable to hide their admiration. It hurt to look at him, knowing what he had done to me.
But while everyone else was happy and excited, I felt like the only one who was sad. I moved around the hall, serving drinks to the guests, my hands shaking with every step.
No one knew what had happened between me and Caspian. How we used to be mates, but he slept with me and then rejected me, leaving me broken and crying like I never knew was possible. Even my wolf was hurting, and I had to comfort her while Caspian seemed happier than ever.
The ceremony unfolded swiftly, the ritual of Caspian’s coronation as Alpha King of the LightShadow pack taking place within a mere 20 minutes.
As the final words of the ancient incantation were spoken, Caspian’s eyes gleamed with
a fierce redness, a telltale sign of his true Alpha status.
The crowd erupt
heers, hailing him as the new Alpha of the pack.
Amidst the jubilation and excitement, I stood apart from the crowd, my heart heavy with sorrow and resentment.
While everyone around me celebrated, I couldn’t shake the feeling of emptiness that consumed me.
Caspian’s betrayal still burned fresh in my mind, a painful reminder of the love and trust I had foolishly placed in him.
Now wearing his crown, he stepped forward to address the gathered pack. His voice rang throughout the hall, commanding attention and respect. “Members of the Light Shadow pack,” he began, his tone confident and authoritative. “Today marks the beginning of a new era for our pack. With your support and loyalty, I vow to lead us to greatness and prosperity.”
As he spoke, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of bitterness rise within me.
How could he stand there, basking in the adoration of the pack, knowing the pain he had caused me?
But as I watched him, his words ringing hollow in my ears, I realized that I was no longer his concern. He had moved on, leaving me behind to pick up the pieces of my shattered heart.
Caspian’s voice cut through the loud chatter of the hall, commanding attention as he declared, “I’m going to show you all, the girl who will be my Luna. She’s always been a part of my life.”
Upon hearing his words, a surge of hope and disbelief coursed through me, momentarily pushing aside the sadness and heartache that had weighed me down.
Could it be possible?
Was he really going to choose me?
As Caspian left his position and began to weave his way through the crowd, my heart raced with anticipation.
His eyes, fixed on me with a neutral expression, sent a flurry of emotions within me.
Silence descended upon the atmosphere as Caspian moved through the crowd, his path clear as people parted to let him pass. Could it really be happening?

My heart shattered as the brunette threw herself into Caspian’s arms, hugging him tightly. It was like a punch to the gut, a double blow of rejection and betrayal.
How could I have been so foolish to think that Caspian would choose me? The memory of his cruelty and rejection flooded back, drowning me in a sea of pain. How he had tightened his hand around my throat, strangling and forcing me to accept his rejection.
As the crowd burst into cheers, celebrating the union of their Alpha with his chosen Luma, fresh tears welled in my eyes. I clutched the jug of wine tightly, my hands trembling with despair.
Watching Caspian and the brunette, whose name I now knew was Ellen, locked in a passionate embrace, I felt more alone and broken than ever before.
I had always noticed Ellen’s closeness to Caspian. They would often go out for evening walks together, their laughter and easy camaraderie evident to anyone who cared to look. I had assumed it was merely a friendship, a bond born out of mutual respect. After all, Ellen came from a wealthy family, the daughter of the former beta. It seemed natural that she and Caspian, the future Alpha, would have a close relationship.
But now, as I stood amidst the crowd, watching Caspian lead Ellen to the front, everything became painfully clear. I had been blind to the truth all along. Caspian and Ellen were not just friends…they were in a relationship.
My heart clenched as Caspian took hold of Ellen, her elated expression mirroring his own. He led her forward, his voice ringing out as he said, “This is who I have chosen to make Luna of this pack. She is to rule beside me because she’s strong, bold, beautiful, and outspoken. And I love her dearly.”
Each word Caspian spoke felt like an arrow piercing through me, a deliberate act to make me feel even more inferior.
Ellen came from royalty, while I did not.
She was bold and powerful, while I felt fragile and weak.
And while Ellen could address people with confidence, I was a mute by my condition, who could only communicate with people through sign language. And I would need an interpreter for me to address a crowd of people.
As the cheers of the crowd rang around me, I felt a surge of bitterness and despair wash
over me. It was clear now that I had never stood a chance with Caspian. I was nothing more than like a game, a mere Omega meant to be discarded and forgotten.
Ellen’s voice rang out, filled with confidence and pride, as she proclaimed, “I was born for the role of a Luna.”
The words seemed to ignite a chorus of praise from those around us.
People began to comment on her beauty, praising her as the perfect match for Alpha Caspian.
“It’s like they were made for each other,” someone remarked, their admiration evident in their tone.
Each word of praise felt like a dagger to my heart, adding insult to the injury already inflicted upon me.
They were unknowingly rubbing salt in my wounds, reminding me of my own inadequacies in comparison to Ellen.
Meanwhile, Caspian’s gaze never wavered from Ellen, filled with a warmth and affection that I had never seen directed towards me.
It made me sick to my stomach, knowing that he had never looked at me with such love and respect. To him, I was nothing more than a means to an end, a disposable object to be discarded once he had satisfied his desires.
As the realization sank in, I knew that staying at the castle would only serve to deepen my pain. Every glance exchanged between Caspian and Ellen would be a reminder of his rejection and betrayal.
He had chosen her over me, casting me aside like yesterday’s trash.
With a heavy heart, I knew that I could no longer bear to witness their happiness while I suffered in silence.
