Chapter 30: Our Hearts.
Chapter 30: Our Hearts.
The next day, I washed up and decided to go on my job of taking Leo to school and I must say, I loved
being around that kid. He seemed to be an adult sometimes and a boy in the other moment. I got to the
house and different scents entered my nostrils and surprisingly, I smelt that of a werewolf too. But then
it seemed to be one of a cub, it was a small boy, I entered the house surprised and confused. Then I
saw Leo sitting on her mother's laps, she watched him with worry on her face and I heard her comfort
him,
“It's okay, you are going to be okay, did it hurt?”
He nodded and then suddenly looked my way, his mother also looked my way and they both smiled, it
affected me so I smiled back to then nervously. Her smile affected me so bad that the rise I had done
all I could to the previous night to calm it down came back to taunt me.
I walked closer to them doing all I could to hide the bulge and Leo got up from her mother and came
closer to me, he opened his arms and I picked him up. Then as soon as he came into contact with me,
he put his head on my shoulders and just like that, our hearts started beating at the same pace. I pulled
him back slightly and looked at him and surprisingly put him back on the couch. He had the same eyes
as I did and when his wolf appeared, he had the same eyes as my wolf too. And then again my wolf
was joyfully howling inside of me at the contact of our eyes.
His mother looked at both of us as our wolves communicated with each other.
She got up hurriedly picked up her son and rushed to the stairs and started taking him upstairs. I broke
out from my wolf and called after her,
“Miss Nadia, please get him ready for school. I will be waiting for you, no, him down here. ”
She didn't even look back till she got to the top of the stairs, she looked down at me and shouted,
Go for today, he won't be going to school today but meet me at the town center this evening I want to
discuss something with you first.
I didn't say anything and turned to leave but a few steps forward and someone called behind me
saying,
“Mr Logan, are you leaving just yet?”
I looked back to see that it was Mia, Mr Martinez's younger daughter, she was indeed a beauty as she
dressed in a plain white sleeveless but round neck dress. She had her hair left down her shoulders and
she walked in flip-flops as she descended the stairs. But then the look of Nadia also came in mind and
she had also worn a dress but it was long sleeved with her hair tied up.
The look of my mate, passed my eyes and matched with the both ladies and felt like she looked more
like Nadia than Mia.
I nodded to her as soon as she stepped down the stairs and greeted,
“How are you doing Miss Mia? I came to take Leo to school but it seems he isn't faring well today so I
was leaving. Have a nice day. ”
She had on of her hands on the staircase and her other foot on the floor and the other on the stairway.
As she watched me thinking, as to what I didn't know but then she smiled seductively and asked,
“If you don't have anywhere to be, how about we go out today?”
I looked at her marveled but I was about to agree when i looked up to the stairs to find Nadia glaring
down at me. But then I didn't know why that affected me and made my heart beat but I shook my head
at Mia and lied,
“I am sorry but I had another appointment if it wasn't driving Leo to school. ”
And just like that I made my way out of the house.
I took the bus back to my house and sat beside a man in the bus, he had his phone viewing the news. I
wasn't paying attention to it till I heard that three prominent people had died the previous night. And it
seemed they were all attacked by one person and mysteriously the CCTV camera's on the road
captured it to be a woman in her prime. NôvelDrama.Org content.
I looked at the phone hurriedly and saw their pictures on the phone and my ex boss's boss was one of
them. Surprisingly, the newscaster revealed that he was a wanted cocaine dealer the police were doing
all they could to find evidence against. I sighed loudly and thought that, ‘Atleast my mate doesn't kill
innocent people. ’
