Chapter 397
Chapter 397
Lumma, “Well, don’t worry.”
Keeley didn’t want to talk about George any more who influenced her in a hopeless way, “Lumma, how are you and your husband doing?”
Lumma, “We’re fine.”
“Wait a second, I have something for you.” Keeley ran upstairs and then came downstairs with a sandalwood box, “Lumma, this is for you.”
Lumma took the box, “What is it?”
Keeley, “You will know upon opening it.”
Lumma opened the box and found a ruby necklace, the size of a thumb.
As Adam’s assistant, Lumma still had the basic ability to distinguish gemstones, and thus she could tell the value of the ruby in terms of its color and texture.
Lumma was unwilling to accept such an expensive gift, “Keeley, it’s too precious. When I came here to see you, I buy nothing for you, even a bag of fruit.”
Keeley specially prepared it for Lumma, because she wished Lumma happier even if she was not hungry for love, “Lumma, it is not expensive, just having a very good meaning of guarding the love. I give it to you in the hope that you and your husband will live a long and peaceful life together.”
Keeley was so sincere that Lumma couldn’t bear to say no to her, “Thank you, Keeley.”
Keeley, “Can I help you put it on?”
Lumma,
“Sure.”
With fair skin and a thin and beautiful neck, Lumma’s face was even more rosy wearing the ruby necklace, which seemed as if it was tailor–made for her.
Keeley’s eyes lit up, “Lumma, you’re so pretty!”
Lumma, “It’s the gemstone you gave that looks good.”
Keeley, “It’s because you are good–looking.”
Lumma said with a laugh, “Okay, I’m good–looking, I’m more beautiful than gems.”
Keeley, “It was.”
Seeing Keeley living so comfortably here, Lumma was very happy but then she became worried while thinking that George’s subordinates might be nearby, which could destroy Keeley’s current stable life at any time.
Lumma hugged Keeley tightly, “Keeley, are we good friends?”
Keeley, “Of course.”
Lumma, “Since we are good friends, wherever you go in the future, you must tell me and can’t run away quietly, is that Ok?”
Keeley, “I promise you.”
After receiving Keeley’s guarantee, Lumma was still worried, so she handed a bank card she had prepared, “Keeley, take it. There are 20,000 dollars in the card, if you need it, just use it; if not, save the money.”
Keeley, “Lumma, what are you doing? I give you a necklace, and you give me 20,000 dollars in return.”
Lumma, “This is the private money I saved behind my husband’s back. I can’t let him know, so you can save it for me.” All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
Lumma had to repay the loan, do renovations, and treat Maria’s illness, and thus she didn’t have much cash in the bank card except for the 20,000 dollars.
If one day George lost patience and wanted to take Keeley back, it would be troublesome if Keeley was unprepared to escape this time, so Lumma had to leave Keeley a way out.
Keeley seemed to understand, “Okay, I’ll take it.”
They made a smile eyes to eyes, and needless to say, they understood each other.
Early the next morning, Lumma followed Keeley to visit the farm.
The size of the farm was much larger than Lumma imagined.
Before she finished visiting, Lumma received a notice from Leonard that the company had important matters, to deal with, so she had to buy a morning ticket and rush back to Preivlille.
Keeley hardly dared to leave the farm, so she arranged for the driver who picked up Lumma last night to take her to the airport.
Keeley watched Lumma leave out of her sight and look away reluctantly.
