KILLED SOMEONE
Lucinda burst into the house, shutting the door behind her with a panting breath. Her eyes rested on Medusa, who was sitting on the couch with popcorn in her hand, watching a movie on the big TV.
"You are back early. How did it go?" Medusa asked, eating popcorn, her eyes glued to the TV. Lucinda sauntered over to her and took the popcorn from her. She sat next to her on the couch and grabbed a handful of the popcorn, stuffing it into her mouth.
"I have killed a human for the first time in my life... And now they will be recruiting a new employee tomorrow to replace him." Lucinda said she was trying to hide the sadness she felt inside.
"Wow, that was a brilliant move; have you seen the human we have been looking for?" Medusa inquired.
"No, I haven't, but I think he is the boss of that company. Can you believe their job is to capture demons? What an unusual human company." Lucinda muttered.
"Are you serious? That means they are a dangerous group of people...which means we have some competition." Medusa commented.
"I wonder what the ED stands for?" Lucinda said chewing the popcorn.
"Me too, anyway. You made a smart move." Medusa endorsed. "I did, but I kind of feel guilty. How do you guys stay calm knowing you have killed someone?" Lucinda questioned. "...you don't need to feel bad that human was destined to die, and you don't have to feel guilty because you still have one more human to kill." Medusa said, stroking Lucinda's hair.
"I brought something for you." Lucinda said, lifting her hand. The golden cup in which she had put the blood appeared in front of her, floating in the air before them.
"What's in the cup?" Medusa inquired with curious eyes.
"It's the blood of the human I killed," Lucinda replied.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
"Gosh, are you that dumb? Why did you have to take the blood of a human? Now they will know for sure that he was killed by a demon." Medusa lamented, putting her hand in her face.
"I thought you would like to drink the blood?" Lucinda stated with a shrug.
"I drink cold blood. Why don't you drink it? I haven't seen you drink blood before." Medusa said using her telekinesis to pull the cup to her.
"No, I can't. It's creeping me out." Lucinda said, lifting her upper lip in disgust. Medusa smirked, clutching the cup as she held Lucinda's head, and started moving the cup closer to her mouth, trying to force her to drink the blood. Lucinda pursed her lips tightly and hit the cup out of Medusa's hand; it landed on the floor, spilling the blood all over the floor and also their clothes.
"Clean up the place," Lucinda said authoritatively.
"Nah! I will just call the room service to do the job." Medusa said in a lazy manner and got up from the couch, she grabbed the home phone.
"This motel has room service?" Lucinda asked in an excited tone.
"Hello, room service, come to our house. There is something you need to clean up." Medusa said and then hung up the phone.
"Medusa, why don't we go out and explore?" Lucinda asked.
"You can go out and explore yourself, but I want to stay at home all day." Medusa replied, taking the remote from the center table and turned off the TV. "But..." she cut in.
"No, buts, Lucinda, you can go out on your own; we've been moving from one place to another since we arrived; I need some rest, okay?" Medusa said as she was walking in the direction of the bedroom. Lucinda watched until she was out of sight and sighed. Medusa entered the room and shut the door, jumping on the bed.
Lucinda was about to go to the bedroom when she heard the sound of the doorbell. She reluctantly went to open the door and saw a male cleaner standing by the door with a bucket and a mop in his hand.
"Come in." Lucinda muttered, leading him into the house. The cleaner panicked in fear as he saw the blood stains on the floor and also noticed the ones on her clothes. His hand started shaking as he slowly dropped the bucket on the floor, shaking like a leaf.
"W-What happened here?" The cleaner asked in a nervous tone. Lucinda looked at the mess she had caused and shook her head in disbelief, thinking of an excuse to give the terrified cleaner.
"If you don't wanna talk, I am calling the cops." He said reaching for his pocket to take out his phone when Medusa burst out of the bedroom and froze the cleaner with her hand.
"Shit! What was I thinking, calling a cleaner to clean the blood? He will think we are serial killers." Medusa said, staring at the cleaner as she caught her breath. Lucinda was a little surprised by Medusa's action. "Why don't we just erase his memory, and you clean up the blood?" she suggested.
"Okay... I caused all this mess in the first place." Medusa said and started by taking off the blood-stained shirt she was wearing. "I already stained the bed with the blood; that's how I recalled having called room service." She muttered. They both shook their heads at the same time and went to do their respective jobs; Lucinda unfroze the head of the cleaner, erasing his memory while he was unconscious. Medusa levitated all the droplets of blood and made them disappear. After a few minutes, Lucinda fully unfroze the cleaner and tapped him on the shoulder so he would wake up.
"...what just happened?" he asked, frightened.
"Nothing happened; you were sent into our room by mistake." Lucinda said, handing him the bucket. He groaned, touching his hurting head as he took the bucket from her. "Alright, sorry for the disturbance." He apologized, heading to the door, and left as quickly as he could.
"Hmm, I was thinking that since they're replacing the guy I impersonated, why don't I go to the job interview tomorrow? Have you ever been on a job interview?" Lucinda questioned.
