Marrying The Rejected Cripple
By the way, it was his first time to meet this lady and he began wondering why she decided to put on rags on her wedding day.
“What’s wrong with you Ella? You really want to lie that you aren’t the one in that picture?”
She ran back to her seat and brought out her phone from her bag. Under everyone’s gaze, she opened her gallery and zoomed a picture and showed it to everyone and everyone was stunned. She turned to Ella and showed the picture to her. After she looked at the girl in the picture, cold sweat broke out of her forehead because the girl in the picture was actually her.
Ella closed her eyes with tears rolling down uncontrollably, for she hadn’t forgotten all that transpired on that fateful day. Mrs. Madison and Maya had taken her to a bridal shop and had chosen a dress for her personally. Everyone in the shop praised her for taking time out of her busy schedule just to pick a wedding dress for her external family.
That morning, Mrs. Madison had persuaded Maya to lend her makeup kit to Ella and one of her red gowns that cut across her knees of which it was only after she had given Maya $2000 that she unwillingly dragged Ella into her bedroom. After she applied light make up on Ella’s face, she threw the red gown on her face, and after grabbing the gown, she sincerely thanked Maya before returning to the veranda where she slept to dress up. After she dressed up, they left together and got into the same car which took them to the bridal shop. As they alighted from the car, all eyes were on them and many envied the family of mother and two daughters. While at the shop, the manager personally attended to them giving them a VIP treatment.
She brought out a very nice dress and helped Ella to measure it, as soon as she did, all eyes were on her. She looked so pretty in her handless wedding dress which cut across her chest slightly over her breasts with sparkling particles of blue diamond falling over her breasts. Everyone couldn’t help but open their mouths in astonishment.
Ella looked so cheerful in the wedding dress.
Mrs. Madison brought out her phone and took a lot of pictures. And immediately they were done taking pictures, Mrs. Madison paid for the dress and the Manager personally parcelled it with all the accessories and handed it to Maya and that was the last time Ella saw the dress.
Thinking of this, Ella felt weak and almost fell down but managed to hold her balance.
Seeing that everyone was on her side, Maya landed another slap on Ella’s jaw and she took some steps backward before she could regain her balance. After she balanced herself and stood up again, she looked at Maya with frustrated eyes because she was tired of the drama.
She hadn’t eaten since the previous day and so, she had no strength left to sustain the slaps, mockery and hunger at the moment.
Maya got closer as if she wanted to support her and gave her a hug but whispered something into her ears. Anyone looking at them will think Maya was comforting her while on the contrary, she was being threatened.
“Ella, my mom and dad said I should warn you. Better behave yourself. No matter what happens, you must insist that you want to marry Elion Copper and if you dare do the opposite of what I’m telling you now, you won’t live to tell the story.”Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
After she was done threatening her, she released Ella with force and failed in such a way that everyone thought Ella had pushed her to the ground.
After standing up from the ground, she looked at Ella with so much hatred and said in anger.
“Ella you are so heartless, my parents have been taking good care of you since when your parents abandoned you, they gave you everything you needed and this is how you want to pay us?” When Elion Copper, your soon to be husband, posted on Facebook that he needed a wife, you decided to marry him on your own. My parents refused because they wanted the best for you yet you still didn’t listen and here you are and on top of the fact that your choice of a husband is already a disgrace to the Madisons, you decided to put on rags on your wedding day despite the fact that my parents spent thousands of dollars just to get you a wedding dress and all the accessories. Ella, you are so heartless and shameless.”
Ella couldn’t hold back her tears anymore. They ran down her cheeks non-stop and she looked at Maya in disbelief. She seemed to have a lot to say but ended up saying nothing because she was very weak and tired but couldn’t help thinking to herself.
“After forcing me to marry that man with such terrifying looks, they had the guts to send their daughter to act like it was my decision against their wish. I’ve lived with them for over 21 years and I don’t think I can take their maltreatment anymore and resentment towards me anymore. I better marry Elion Copper than continue to live with the Madisons.”
Ella wiped her eyes and stared at Elion Copper with determination and just then the Lord Mayor, dressed in a black suit, stood up and asked if there was anyone who didn’t want the wedding to hold.
Mr. Madison, who had been quiet all along, stood up and spoke to the Lord Mayor with so much respect.
“If left for me, I could have said a big no to this marriage but as you can see, my family is a noble family and we can’t force her not to marry the man she has chosen. So, if she is still insisting, then you can go ahead, Lord Mayor.”
Just then, Ella walked down the aisle and stood beside Elion Copper who was sitting on the wheelchair in front of the Lord Mayor and smiled.
“With all due respect my Lord, this is my wedding and as long as the groom hasn’t changed his mind I am going to get married to him.”
