I Want A Lifetime With You Chapter 600
Chapter 600
Chapter 600 Back To The Su Residence
On the day Shen Qianan was discharged from the hospital, Shi Nuan originally wanted to pick her up, but the latter’s belly was getting bigger and bigger. Not only did Fu Chengyan not allow her to simply move around, but even Shen Qianan also refused to let Shi Nuan go back and forth between the two places.
Nonetheless, ultimately, Shen Qianan was taken to the Su residence. Because she was now the daughter of Su Huaibei, it was only natural for her to stay there. Moreover, her father was quite insistent on letting her do so. If I’d known she wanted to meet me, I would’ve asked someone to clear out a room for her. Su Huaibei also thought that since Yu was still a child, he would arrange the boy’s room next to Shen Qianan’s. It was thoughtfully decorated with various toys suitable for boys inside. As Su Huaibei brought Shen Qianan home, the former allowed the latter to do whatever she wanted. Regarding the matter of changing her family name, Su Huaibei actually asked Shen Qianan for her opinion. Yet, she told him it was not a huge concern to her whether or not her surname got changed. Agreeing with her, her father did not continue to force it.
Currently, Su Huaibei was already a middle-aged man, and his health was gradually deteriorating. It would be better for him to cherish the time he had instead of dwelling on frivolous matters. Initially, he thought that he had lost everything in the first half of his life. Yet, to his surprise, his daughters—Shen Qianan and Shi Nuan—had returned to him. At that moment, Su Huaibei was probably the person who felt the happiest about this.
Needless to say, not everyone felt the same way. Fu Sijue, for instance, was extremely unhappy about her moving in there.
Seeing how things were between him and Shen Qianan at that moment, he thought that she would never go back to his mansion or the Yun residence with him. Thus, on the day Su Huaibei brought
Shen Qianan home, Fu Sijue could only watch as the middle-aged man picked her up and took her away. However, Fu Sijue was not someone who gave up easily, so he followed the father and daughter shamelessly.
Although Shen Qianan did not complain, it was not difficult to tell that she disliked what Fu Sijue did. She remained silent until the end. Su Huaibei, on the other hand, knew a few reasons behind it, but he did not stop Fu Sijue.
In fact, the main reason was that Fu Chengyan had called Su Huaibei in the beginning. The former urged the latter that if he wanted his daughter to live blissfully, it would be better not to stop Fu Sijue from what he was doing. Thinking about the entanglement between Jiang Yuan and himself for most of his life and how tragically it ended, Su Huaibei refused to let a similar tragedy happen to his daughter. Since Fu Chengyan already said so, Su Huaibei believed that Fu Sijue’s feelings for Shen Qianan must be genuine.
Furthermore, Su Huaibei was not that close-minded. However, if Fu Sijue failed to win Shen Qianan’s heart in the end, or she had no feelings for him, Su Huaibei would chase Fu Sijue away without hesitation.
The father and daughter duo were both riding in the same car. At that moment, Shen Qianan could not care much about Fu Sijue and what he was up to because it was her first time getting to be alone with Su Huaibei. Despite already reuniting with him, strictly speaking, she had not called him “Dad” yet.
Even though Su Huaibei did not say much about it, to a father, there was nothing better than hearing his own daughter refer to him as “Dad.” Keeping quiet did not mean that Su Huaibei did not mind. Rather, he just refused to coerce his daughter.
After getting in the car, Shen Qianan did not say a word, and neither did her father. He was more nervous than her. “Uh… An, i-if there’s anything you want, you can write them down on a checklist and
give it to me, so I can buy them for you. As you know, a grown man like me isn’t very attentive. Thus, the things I’ve prepared might be incomplete. By the way, about Yu’s stuff, can you also find out what a child like him needs?” said Su Huaibei, trying his best to act slightly more normal and amiable than usual. Yet, his shaky voice hinted at the tension inside him at that moment.
Shen Qianan could also tell that his heart was trembling. In reality, she was very anxious as well. “There’s no need for that. I’m pretty sure you’ve had everything prepared,” she said.
“No. There are still many things that I’m unfamiliar with. You know that I didn’t get to raise you and Nuan, so… this is my first time. There must be things that I’ve left out,” said Su Huaibei.
Hearing his response, if Shen Qianan was to say another word, he might begin to overthink. Thus, she nodded and said, “All right. You may not be very familiar with the things Yu and I usually use. I’ll go take a look later. If there’s anything I need, I’ll list them down, okay?”
“Okay!”
Smiling, she asked, “Uh… Is Yu at the Su residence?”
“Yes, he is. Nuan and Yan are there as well. It’s lively seeing that everyone has gathered together,” replied Su Huaibei. What’s more delightful than a family being together?
Only after getting out of the car with Su Huaibei that Shen Qianan realized the Su residence was much bigger than she had imagined. Although she already knew Su Shaoqing as a child, the two were actually not very close. In a sense, this was Shen Qianan’s first visit to the Su residence.
“What’s wrong? Why did you stop here?” asked Su Huaibei concernedly as soon as he noticed Shen Qianan standing idly in place. “Don’t be nervous. Your family members are waiting for you, except Shaoqing. He may be a little late. When we came, he was still busy with work at the hospital.”
Nodding, Shen Qianan said, “All right!” Retracting her gaze from the house, she followed Su Huaibei and headed inside. At the same time, Fu Sijue also got out of his car, following the two into the house. Behind Fu Sijue was his assistant, whom his company temporarily assigned to him, Zhang Qi.
Zhang Qi was carrying a bunch of gifts in his arms. Before coming, his elderly at home had told him that manners were important in the Su family and that he should not be disrespectful. Despite working for Fu Sijue for merely a short while, Zhang Qi knew quite a bit about the former. He knew that Fu Sijue disliked people who made their own decisions without the permission of others. Hence, upon preparing the gifts, Zhang Qi let Fu Sijue have a look at them. The latter did not say much, which meant that he approved of them. It was only then that Zhang Qi felt relieved.
Indeed, as Su Huaibei said, the Su family had been waiting for Shen Qianan for a long time, including Shi Nuan.
Shi Nuan was pacing in the living room. Evidently, she was looking forward to her sister’s arrival. Fu Chengyan, however, remained calm as he followed his wife closely. Whenever he noticed that Shi Nuan was not feeling well, he would approach her. Eventually, due to Fu Chengyan, Shi Nuan was no longer nervous. Holding back her agitation, she sat down and glowered at him.
Seeing the look on her face, Fu Chengyan did nothing but smile. He dotingly peeled a grape and put it near her mouth. “Have one!” he said. Looking up at him, Shi Nuan punitively opened her mouth and ate the grape as she bit his finger.
Fu Chengyan’s eyes darkened. Yet, he quickly smiled and slightly moved his finger while it was still in her mouth. Suddenly, Shi Nuan felt something strange on her tongue. Instantly, her face flushed as if she thought of something. She let go of his finger and glared at him.
Fu Chengyan found Shi Nuan’s behavior amusing. With his finger that still had her saliva, he took another grape and rubbed it, then threw it into his mouth. “May, this is really sweet!”
In the next second, Shi Nuan turned beet red. Her face was redder than just now.
She clenched her fists, eyes glowing with anger, as she gave Fu Chengyan a death stare. However, at that moment, she looked a lot like an aggrieved young girl. The expression she had while playing hard to get came into Fu Chengyan’s sight.
Narrowing his eyes, Fu Chengyan could no longer suppress the restless waves in his heart. Then, he leaned forward and whispered in Shi Nuan’s ear, “You evil seductress!”
It would have been better if Fu Chengyan had kept quiet. At that moment, Shi Nuan was all worked up. She reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck, saying, “If I’m an evil seductress, does that make you a monk?”
Upon hearing the question, Fu Chengyan’s eyes lit up. As he lowered his gaze, he saw Shi Nuan’s belly, which was as round as a ball. He could not help sighing as he said, “What an austere life I live!”
“You’re so childish!” Shi Nuan spat. “Aren’t you aware of where this is? Can’t you behave yourself?”
“You’re my wife. I said that because you’re attractive!” replied Fu Chengyan.
Nevertheless, it was undeniable that Fu Chengyan was a master at flirting. No one could compare to him. He was constantly trying to seduce Shi Nuan, but even after he succeeded, she could not do anything because she was pregnant. His behavior made her heart flutter. She thought that Fu Chengyan was truly a bewitching man.
Out of the blue, a series of coughs was heard. It just came to Shi Nuan’s realization that she and her husband were not the only ones in the living room. Shi Nuan’s face reddened again. Pushing Fu Chengyan away, she said, “Go away.”
With a smile on his face, Fu Chengyan turned in the direction of the coughing sound. It came from Su Shaoqing’s father, Su Huainan.
As someone who had been through a lot, Su Huainan did not feel awkward or embarrassed when he saw Shi Nuan and Fu Chengyan’s intimate session. Fu Chengyan said in a serious manner, “Uncle Nan, what is it?”
Twitching his mouth, Su Huainan replied, “Go take a look outside. I heard that they’ve arrived.”
Fu Chengyan nodded, then helped Shi Nuan up from the couch. Shortly after Su Huainan stood up, Lin Shuqin followed suit.
Shi Nuan quite liked Lin Shuqin, but the former had no idea why Fu Chengyan did not feel the same. Just now, while staying in the living room, Shi Nuan could feel that her husband had ignored Lin Shuqin while chatting with Su Huainan the whole time. Logically speaking, Lin Shuqin was Su Shaoqing’s mother. Hence, technically, Fu Chengyan should not be holding such an attitude toward the woman.
“What’s wrong?” asked Fu Chengyan upon noticing Shi Nuan, who was lost in her thoughts. When he lowered his head and stared at her, Shi Nuan immediately shook her head. “Nothing’s wrong!”
Shen Qianan was led inside by Su Huaibei, while Fu Sijue was right behind them. Despite being ignored by Shen Qianan, Fu Sijue did not feel shameful in the least. Instead, he just followed the father and daughter into the house. Although Shen Qianan might have something to say about this, she could only hold her tongue, seeing that so many people were around.
“Qianan.” Shi Nuan was the first to greet Shen Qianan. Then, the former let Fu Chengyan bring Yu over.
The moment Yu saw Shen Qianan, he struggled and got out of Fu Chengyan’s grip, then hurriedly ran toward Shen Qianan. However, as soon as Shen Qianan thought Yu was going to greet her, the boy
hugged Fu Sijue’s leg and yelled, “Daddy!”
