Chapter 29 Ancient Star's First Shooting
In Studio City.
It was the first shooting of Ancient Star.
Margaret was sitting on a chair in a daze, unconsciously touching her lips.
She couldn't help blushing as she remembered Charleston's domineering strength the night before.
"Hey, why am I thinking of that bast*rd!" Margaret quickly broke her chain of thoughts after realizing
that she was thinking about that shameful kiss.
She forced herself to focus on the script. She had heard that the jewelry company was going to pick
between Queenie Lyons or Tiana's actor as the brand ambassador.
Although a decision was yet to be made, it was obvious the choice would be the person cast as
Queenie.
This was because the white jade pearl was the signature product of the jewelry company this season.
However, she still had no idea who had been cast as Queenie.
Suddenly, footsteps could be heard from a distance away. Stephanie walked on set slowly with an
assistant holding an umbrella up for her. She looked as if she was a famed star.
Stephanie was also a Galaxy Entertainment artist, and she was given the most opportunity among all
other artists. However, for some reason, she still hadn't gained much fame even with the support of the
Simons family's resources.
This time, Stephanie most probably secured the role of Queenie by leveraging on her family's network
as well.
The assistant opened up a huge umbrella and a resting chair, then roughly scanned her surroundings
to find a shaded spot. Coincidentally, the place where Margaret was sitting at the moment caught the
assistant's eye.
"You, get out of the way and give this seat to Stephanie," the assistant ordered aggressively.
"I was here first. Why should I give it to her?" Margaret put her script down and raised her eyebrows.
"Stephanie is the leading actress. Who are you to question her?" The assistant snorted disdainfully.
Stephanie giggled as she covered her mouth. She said, "Tracy, can't you tell that the person in front of
you is the one playing Tiana?"
Tiana?
Assistant Tracy raised her eyebrows and continued to satirize her, "So what? You're just a supporting
actress. How dare you refuse to give up your seat for Stephanie? If Stephanie can't rest well and the
shooting is affected, can you bear the consequences?"
Margaret sneered coldly. She had no intention of quarrelling with these people on set.
The assistant director, who had always thought highly of Margaret, had witnessed the whole scene. He
frowned slightly and called for Margaret, "Margaret, please come over. Let's discuss your part for the
shooting later..."
Margaret knew that the assistant director was getting her out of a fix, so she nodded and walked
towards him.
The assistant then got everything ready for Stephanie to rest.
"Are you personally acquainted with Stephanie?" On the other side, the director stared at Margaret, a
look of confusion on his face.
"Yes, we've got a bit of a nasty history with one another," Margaret said while nodding her head. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
"Just ignore her and do your thing," the director gave her some well-meaning advice.
"Don't worry, I will. Thank you, director." Margaret smiled with curved eyebrows.
The director initially assumed that Margaret would think that he was on Stephanie's side and didn't
expect her to be this honest about their past. He couldn't help but think that Margaret really was a
promising actress.
"Familiarize yourself with the script first. We will start in about half an hour," the director said with a
smile.
Margaret nodded.
The shooting took place in summer, when it was the hottest. The crew did their preparations under the
scorching sun and everyone was seen to be drenched in sweat.
Suddenly, a production assistant shouted, "Miss Simons' fans have sent some gifts over."
Tracy was stunned for a moment and yelled excitedly, "Stephanie, it's your fans!"
