Chapter 2994
Hayden had stayed home to be with Aiden that night because Aiden had caught a cold.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
After falling sick, Aiden had lost all his energy and had become clingier than usual.
Though Hayden rarely dotted on his child, his heart still ached when he saw his son suffering.
Avery knew that the three companies were having a gathering and asked, "Aren't you going to check it out? It's Aiden's bath time now."
Hayden handed Aiden over to their servant. "There are too many people there. I don't feel like going."
"Of course. There are a lot of single people in three companies. You are the one who planned the event, so I think it's best you show up." Avery glanced at the time. "Of course, it's fine if you don't want to go, either. After all, they may all be high from the food and drinks by now."
"Mom, you can go if you are interested," Hayden said. "Aiden is going to sleep now, anyway, so you can take Dad with you."
"I wanted to, but I think I'll pass. Aiden got sick, and your dad and I didn't get to take our naps in the afternoon." Avery yawned. "I need to take a shower, too."
After Avery left, Hayden picked his phone up from the table.
He saw that Eliam had sent him several messages and immediately opened them.
The bottommost message contained a photo.
Hayden clicked on it and saw Shelly's face.
She was in the buffet area, enjoying her meal. Standing next to her was Fergus. The two of them appeared to be treating this singles' mixer as a date spot, which completely deviated from Hayden's original intentions for organizing the event.
Hayden stood in place, holding his phone and thinking for a few seconds. In the end, he decided to listen to his mother's words and go to the venue himself.
Inside the banquet hall, the atmosphere was lively, filled with young men and women of similar ages. Although they came from three different companies, they all worked for the same family so it felt like a grand family reunion.
"Fergus, don't just focus on eating!
Look at that girl in the white mermaid dress. She's so beautiful Quickly! Go ask her for her number!" After finishing her meal, Shelly began observing the girls at the venue, assisting Fergus.
There were truly a lot of beautiful women. Although there were also many men present, Shelly's gaze was completely captivated by the pretty ladies, and she could not be bothered to look at the men. Fergus followed Shelly's gaze and smiled. "If I'm not mistaken, she's from our company. Office relationships are generally not allowed."
"Oh... Actually, I think as long as
you're not from the same department, it shouldn't be a
problem! Shelly continued to help Fergus search, saying, "What about that girl in the red dress with the short hair? Even though she has short hair, her temperament is really good! If I was a man, I would definitely go ask for her number."
Fergus chuckled helplessly. "Why do I feel like you like beautiful women more than I do? The women you showed me are all too beautiful. Women of that level wouldn't even spare a nobody like me a look." "Fergus, don't underestimate yourself. We are born equal. If you like someone, you can go after them. If someone rejects you, don't be discouraged. If you're too shy to ask for their numbers, I'll do it for you," Shelly said.
Fergus awkwardly scratched his head. "I'll go ask for the number myself. The one you mentioned is the one in the red dress, right?"
"You can approach whichever one you like! What if you don't like the one in the red dress?" Shelly said. "Honestly, I think they're all beautiful, and they have great senses of style."
"You're beautiful, too! You look beautiful tonight!" Fergus laughed. "Why aren't you more confident?"
"It's different. Their confidence oozes from the inside. If I could work in a big company like them, I would probably be more confident too."
