Chapter 18
Chapter 18
Starlight Jewelry was only one of many brands under the Golding Group. She could not fathom how important Starlight Jewelry would have to be for the chairman of the group to sign a contract for Starlight Jewelry with the brand spokesperson. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
What kind of luck do I have?
“Mr. Golding, she’s Angeline Sorelle, the brand spokesperson Starlight Jewelry is about to sign a contract with,” the person in charge of the event introduced to Evander.
The moment he heard Angeline’s name, his eyes darkened. Then, when he looked at the other end of the table where the person in charge was looking, his expression turned frigid.
The eyes of Evander and Angeline met as the cameras continued to click away.
Still, Angeline forced the corners of her lips to turn upward. She stood up and greeted, “Hello, Mr. Golding. It is my honor to be working with your company as Starlight Jewelry’s brand spokesperson.”
Meanwhile, the person in charge who had spoken earlier handed the pen to Evander.
All cameras then turned toward the contract.
As everyone watched them, Evander nonchalantly lifted his hand and pushed away the pen. His gaze was frosty as he uttered, “Sorry, but Starlight Jewelry can’t sign the contract with Angeline Sorelle. I’ve decided to change the brand spokesperson.”
What?
Evander’s words created an uproar in the room.
“Why?” came Nancy’s shriek of surprise.
Angeline’s expression turned grimmer as the reporters continued to snap photos of them with even more vigor.
Why else? Evander must resent me for what happened earlier. But isn’t he crossing the line by embarrassing me in front of so many reporters?
“No reason. Speak to my legal department about the breach of contract.”
With that said, Evander glimpsed at the person in charge and said, “You’ll deal with the rest.”
The person in charge was still reeling in from the shock as he numbly bobbed his head. By the time he came back to his senses, Evander was gone.
After that, the reporters began exchanging glances with each other.
“Are they really not signing it anymore?”
“What’s going on? Is it because of the recent news about Angeline?”
“Is it because of Sorelle Group’s dispute over the assets?”
While the people in the crowd discussed away, someone who recollected themself sooner than the others asked, “Angeline, is your property dispute with Sorelle Group the reason Starlight Jewelry has suddenly breached the contract, or is it because the news of your premarital pregnancy has affected your reputation?”
The mention of premarital pregnancy snapped everyone back to their senses.
Angeline had never responded to the rumors since day one.
However, before the reporters could swarm her, she had pushed the people around her aside and hurried in the direction Evander went to.
The reporters hastily tried to follow her but were stopped by the security guards.
By then, Evander was about to step into the elevator.
“Wait!” Angeline ran after him, her heels clacking behind.
It would have been fine if she had not accepted Starlight Jewelry’s endorsement deal from the start. However, everyone knew that she was going to be its brand spokesperson, and Evander had just humiliated her in public. There was no way Angeline was going to let Evander go without getting an explanation from him.
She would only be embarrassed more if she simply left.
Yet, Evander did not even spare her a glance as he walked into the elevator and pressed the button to close the doors.
“Wait!”
