Her Glamorous Beauty

Why are you so kind to me?

“Yup! You’re right, mom and dad. I and Emerson, the head worker, have a relationship. We didn’t tell you about this because…” Rebecca tried to explain, but tears flowed down from her eyes.

“Child.” Bernadette tapped Rebecca’s shoulder. “You don’t need to explain anything; we’re already old if we didn’t notice that.”

“Yup, it’s okay if you two have a relationship, but what disappoints us is that you hid it! You! Don’t show your faces to me again!” Elfedio exclaimed, as he angrily pointed an index to two of them. He then turned around and left them all in shock.

Bernadette sighed. “Okay, your father sulks because you didn’t tell us about this early,” she added. “Everyone please go back to work. I just need to coax my husband.” Her words turned them into laughter, then the crowd gradually disappeared as she did.

Rebecca and Emerson were the only two left in their spots. She wiped her tears and walked towards him while thinking why, even in that situation, he still couldn’t admit the truth as if a cat of nervousness got his tongue.

Emerson fell into the silence of embarrassment. Those people were just good at first, he thought, and soon they would begin talking about him; they would ask him when it became possible for a gardener to have a relationship with a wealthy lady. Though he was amazed by Rebecca’s bravery, he didn’t know if that could protect them.

“So, are you now happy?” Emerson asked, looking at his feet.

“Happy for what? For telling the truth that you can’t do it,” Rebecca replied.

He looked at her face with a questioning gaze and seemed mad. He just didn’t want Rebecca to make him face his cowardice. He knew he couldn’t blame her or anyone but himself-he blamed himself that he fell in love with her.

“You don’t know why I’m not telling anyone about our relationship,” Emerson uttered.

“Then why won’t you tell me the reason so that I will know? I know, I know, you never did trust me.” Rebecca’s voice cracked as she didn’t want to hurt his feelings nor judge him, but telling the truth is what she’s doing.

“Will you really accept me if you knew the truth?” Emerson thought. “You don’t know that I’m just protecting you. That’s how much I love you-that even in the days of sadness, I can deprive you of your happiness for your safety.”

“Are you going to tell me anything or will you also hide that until someone else forces you to like what Claudio did?” Rebecca broke the silence, then sat down on the stool, waiting for his answer.

It even crossed Emerson’s mind that it was Rebecca who told her brother to force him to admit their relationship to her parents, but he knew that he looked like he never trusted her, so he tried to stop himself from thinking.

“Why won’t you go back home first? It’s warm here and I still need to work. Let’s just talk later when everything becomes cooler,” Emerson replied.

Rebecca stood up hesitantly, though she wanted to spend time with him-it might be better to give each other some space for a while, so that they can think about anything. She didn’t need to, but he may have changed his mind.

Without saying anything, they leave each other and go back to their own lives, which have changed since they met each other. Emerson really wanted to tell her the truth, but he didn’t have the strength to say a word.

As she walked on, Rebecca met her brother, who had just had a conversation with his servant, Lando Delmundo. He was thinking that he hadn’t helped them solve their problems, but added them, and he obviously got that right.

“So, are you now happy too?” Rebecca asked. “I think so, because your lips expand to your ears as you smile like a joker.”

“Huh? What are you talking about?” Claudio replied without looking at her.Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

“Can you stop pretending that you don’t know, brother? I know, I saw you. It was you who forced Emerson to admit that-”

“Emerson? Why won’t you call him your boyfriend? I’m just trying to help, and are you happy that your parents already knew the truth?”

“I think you’re the only one who became happy about what happened,” Rebecca said. “I might be happier if you just didn’t come back here.” She turned and attempted to leave, but he grabbed her arm and was ready to punch her.

“What are you waiting for? Why won’t you release that so we’ll know where your destination is? Perhaps you’ll be happy doing that!” Rebecca exclaimed.

“Uh-huh. I just saw this dirt on your face.” Claudio touches her face while freeing himself from sudden anger towards his sister in blood, but not in deeds. He concluded, “I don’t really want to hurt you,” before letting her go.

“I thought you wanted to leave again,” Rebecca mumbled as she continued to the mansion. “And if you would, I’ll be happy if you don’t come back.”

Meanwhile, Claudio reasoned that he shouldn’t be bothered by what was going on because he hadn’t returned to be angry, but to make a rebel to the careless man’s careful daughter. He’s so eager to see how his ex-family was demolished.

“Hey man, what are you doing here?” Claudio asked Emerson who was planting crops. “Don’t you want to see my sister and have a good time? Nor act like a part of our family?” He snatched the shovel from him.

“Why are you so kind to me?” Emerson asked back, as nobody is perfect and he believes that Claudio just wanted to help him. It never crossed his mind that everything he does is already on purpose.

“Stop flattering me, man. I know, I made a mistake by forcing you to tell my parents the truth, but I think we should forget about it, because everything had already happened and we couldn’t turn back time,” he said.

How can he say that? Claudio simply wanted to forget everything he did, as if he didn’t realize how much it affected Emerson’s life, or he may have meant it because he knew he would be affected.

Emerson remained silent but nodded as a sign of agreement that he could forget what happened, although his life would probably change because of it. Especially if everyone started treating him differently from how they normally would.

Again, I just want to remind you to take care of my sister. Claudio said this in a serious tone, as if he knew something bad was about to happen. He handed him back the shovel and continued strolling around like an insane man.

“What does he mean?” Emerson wondered. “I know, I need to take care of Rebecca because she’s my girlfriend, and he doesn’t need to remind me of that, for I can sacrifice myself for her, but why did he do it?”
